Last Friday, both my wife and I attempted to make a one night transient reservation for our 55' power boat. The woman that answered the call, said that the dockmaster was out and that she would take the information and have them get back to us. In over 25 years of boating and staying at many different marinas, we had never had such an inquisition for a simple one day. we don't believe she knew she was working at a marina that is in the business of accepting transient boats. She must have been filing in some ridiculous form. we were asked the same typical questions such as name of the vessel, length, beam, draft and power requirement, over and over again. After 10 minutes of playing that game she asked us "the shape of our hardtop, curved or flat!" Really??? Then she asked if we had radar, and if so is it open or closed array! she could not explain why she needed this information. At this point, we just asked for the dock master to call either of us as she had both of our cell phone numbers. Needless to say, we never heard back from anyone and moved on to find accommodations, elsewhere. It was a frustrating and amusing interaction. we have crossed off their name in our cruising guide. read more

The Marina Ruined My Boat!!! BEWARE YOUR BOAT IS NOT SAFE AT THIS MARINA. THE MARINA IS NOT LEGALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR MOST ANY DAMAGE THEY CAUSE TO YOUR BOAT. After destroying my boat to the point it is non operational, the marina refused to take any responsibility for the damage. The dockworkers did apologize & tell me the marina would take responsibility, but the marina management refused to take responsibility. On top of this, they played games with me. For example, telling me the marina incident report I filed with them was lost, then, when I produced a copy, they told me it was invalid because it "was not signed by an authorized signer from the marina". They said my deposit refund check was in the mail, only to tell me 6 months later it is not being sent back to me. What corruption! What an unethical way to run a business! Do you want to hear my story? Here it is: I've had my boat at that marina for 18 happy years. Within a month of Grove Harbour Marina buying out the marina, my boat was ruined by Grove Harbour Marina. They also go by CG Marina but make no mistake, this is Grove Harbour Marina. Because the contract they have all boat owners sign is so protective of the marina, to the detriment of the boat owners, the marina is liable for almost nothing that happens to your boat, not even if it is the fault of the marina. This one-sided contract is just one of the things they used to justify their unethical behavior. Because their contract holds them harmless for any damage to your boat, except for gross negligence, which is almost impossible to prove in a court of law, you are left to deal with the marina's failure to take proper care of your boat & this can be very expensive to a boat owner. It's been too expensive for me to fix my boat... 12 month as of this writing. So, my story... I returned to the marina at night, docking my boat after a day on the water. When returning the boat at night & the marina is closed for the day, the after hours marina procedure is to leave the boat in the water tied to the marina dock. The next morning, when the marina staff arrives to work, they will take the boat out of the water with their large forklift & store the boat in the dry storage rack. The dry storage rack is where the boat spends most of its time throughout the year. If you use a boat 40 times a year, it sits on the rack for the other 325 days of the year. Because the boat is going from water to a dry rack, the marina staff remove the boat's drain plug from the bottom of the boat before the boat is placed on the dry storage rack. Further, the marina has a policy that twice a week; the marina staff will remove drain plugs from boats (Tuesdays & Thursdays). These standard marina procedures (going on 18 years) assure that boats in dry storage don't flood from the South Florida rains. These procedures are exactly what didn't happen. My boat's drain plug was left in my boat for 3 months, during winter storage, & the boat was flooded to the top of the inboard engine. The marina dock master said he didn't think the plug being left in the boat was an oversight. He stated the plug was left in the boat intentionally. He theorized senior management mistook the boat for having an oil leak... but that the oil leak was from another boat of the same make & model. Whatever the case, my boat was destroyed to the point it is non operational & the marina will not take any responsibility. Removing drain plugs is a common marina service that for 18 years went just fine... until the new owners took over the marina. I'm not a rich person & boats are expensive. I've been without a boat for a year now. This is a big deal for me but the saddest part is that I have two young boys & this was our source for weekend adventures. Trying to get past this "small tragedy", I finally convinced the marina's senior management to send me my marina storage deposit back. You are supposed to get this back if there is no damage to the marina & you fulfill a year contract. They said yes... we are sending your deposit back. They said the check was in the mail. HA! It just gets worse. Twelve months after finding my boat is destroyed, they reneged on their promise to send me my deposit. The reason... due to constant staff turn-over in the executive & accounting office, the marina gives me the run-around on the check refund, only to eventually have a new employee call me to refuse to refund my deposit a year later. The reason they stated, I did not "meet contract terms" & that the boat damage report that was filed on the day the damage was discovered was not "signed by a an authorized signer from the marina". I share this experience with you so you don't have to deal with what I have gone through. It's been a terrible experience for my kids & I. I am saving up for a new boat & will stay far away from Grove Harbour Marina. If you've read this far & are not the owners of Grove Harbour Marina / CG Marina, God Bless You. read more

This might be the second review because it's about my 10th bad experience with this place. Customer service is the worst in Miami!!! Unfortunately they have a monopoly so if you get in, you have to use them but if you have a choice of using ANY other marina you will be thankful you did. Obviously, by all the other poor comments, they really don't care and have made zero effort to improve there unaccomodating attitude. read more

such a prefect spot to store your boat. Beautiful, clean and all you have to do is to call them a day before and they will have your boat in the water with full tank. We were looking for boat rental and thought they might have some but they didn't. I give them 5 stars for their highly trained customer service, they explained to us how they operate and wish that we will become future customers. The place is huge and the marina is very clean and had nice areas where you can just walk and enjoy waching the ocean. This place is next to the fresh market and both were an airpot hub for Pan American from the mid 30's till the mid 60's. read more

If I could give them zero stars, I would. I have had my boat here for three years and I have watched them drop from horrible but tolerable service to shi**y and unacceptable service. Their new service captain is unbelievably dreadful. I spent $1,000 to have a full detail including rubbing compound, etc only to see it receive the quality of a one time wash. Now, I email requests for a one time wash only to never receive a response and when I call the service, ole' Cap'n Mike tells me to email him! I cannot wait to pull my boat out of here. It's just not that hard to please your customers. Be polite, attentive, and do what you say you're going to do. read more

I work part time on a boat for a friend of mine; general maintenance, stocking and cleaning, filters, oil, engine upkeep, etc. ( yes I can actually use a monkey wrench. Among other things.) His boat is docked at grove harbour and I have to say I'm so very glad! The crew here certainly makes my life a lot easier. The mechanics are knowledgeable and available at a moments notice when I notice a clunk, hum or leak. The dock hands are well trained and helpful, always ready to loosen a bolt I can't manage or help me on-load groceries and (of course) booze. Much as they obviously want to, they never flirt with me to my face which I appreciate. I'm always greeted with a "good afternoon, captain", which is nice. The staff that works the office is just as helpful and polite, always quick to pick up the phone, answer questions, or change work orders last minute. They always have up to date information on cleaning schedules and maintenance/ repairs, which helps me out tremendously. They are also happy, polite, and helpful. The Docks and slips are well maintained, clean, and secure. The machinery for storing and docking small craft is safely and professionally operated, and the other boat owners are pleasant and respectful. The only reason Grove Harbour gets four stars instead of five; a few months ago, during a lengthy repair and overhaul, the boat's entire stock was stolen. (Champagne, liquor, mixers, food, cigarettes, Cd's, even the Dramamine.) Although this was the fault of the workers, who were hired through an outside company, the harbour was still responsible for maintaining a certain level of security and four bottles of expensive Perrier Jouet shouldn't have been able to make it past the gate. A pack of cigarettes, maybe. Magnums? Not so much. We also had a slight issue with some kids running down the docks and flipping off the shore power switch. This ended up causing our batteries to die, and let me tell you, a battery for a Portofino is a bit more than for an automobile. Obviously neither of these issues was the direct fault of the marina personnel, so I'll let it ride at four stars. read more

They charged me 2 nights when I only stayed 1 night. 600 dollar overcharg on my card without my consent. I had reservations for a 70 ft slip and got 45ft. I told them ahead of time I require 100 amp I got 50amp. When I asked for credit for the overcharge they refused. Never will I go back Oh the dock hand was lame. read more

This is by far the worst marina in Miami. I am a yacht broker and would rather take a boat from the marina up the Miami River for a survey then deal with these expensive, uncooperative, rude, people. Don't bother to buy fuel from them either. They're more expensive and if you want to pick up one extra friend they want to charge you over $100. Boycott Grove Harbor at all cost. read more

Watch out for this marina! They are thieves!!!! My boat broke down during the FPB Key West Poker Run. I was forced to leave my boat there. They charged me an unbelievable rate of$350 per day to pull it and store it. I had no choice due to it being inoperable. I returned with my trailer. They pulled it off the rack and loaded it on my trailer. I left. Later they charged my credit card an additional $500 for loading my boat on the trailer. I called them. The lady who speaks very broken English said " you left your boat here so , you subject to our fees and penalties" I did not authorize this charge. Don't go there. After reading all the negative reviews, it is apparent that they are a shady marina in ALL areas read more

I can echo all of the frustrations of other reviewers. We had a variety of issues...just for starters: 1. Our large boat wouldn't start. We asked service manager to check it out in our slip. He said our Diesel engines had water. He spoke to their tow motor operator that he said confirmed his diagnosis. I declined letting them work on it. Instead I left it parked in the slip and had our usual service team check it out a few days later and turned out the batteries just needed water topped off in them - old school style batteries. 2. Hurricane in 2017 damaged docks. They called us a few months later to bring our boat back. Never any response or updates over those months. Foolishly we didn't check first and took boat back to marina from Ft Lauderdale after their call. Arrived to find no deck boards on docks. No power to our slip. Cords everywhere and it was impossible to negotiate waking the 2' wide concrete frame beams with cords, deck boxes, power boxes covering them. We couldn't access our boat for four months. They provided no reduction and charged us full monthly slip fee for those many, many months we couldn't take it back and then when it was back but not accessible. 3. They changed electronic access. We couldn't get a key for months. Had to be let in when we wanted to stop. 4. They allowed work to be done on an old run down boat in an empty slip next to our slip. I saw overspray specks on our boat and complained. I was told there was nothing they could do. The guy was spray painting his junk boat. 5. We overpaid them when we finally left due to an error on their part. We've still never received our overpayment. 6. The owner was accused of embezzlement, see news article Dec 2017. That's just for starters. Avoid this place. Poorly run. Poor communication. read more

Dirty and expensive. Racks drop rust stains onto my boat and the ground is a combination of oil and muck which will find its way onto your deck. Their mechanics are VERY expensive and they seem proud of it! Dock hands are not careful with the boats and I have personally seen two boats drift into the docks because no one tied them off - they just floated off into the next dock! Look at the racks - two years ago there was a wait list to get in and now they are only half filled. People are taking their boats out of here and I plan to do the same thing. read more

I wanted to store our Donzi ZX 23 at Grove Harbour Marine 14 month ago. Allen the owner made it very clear that he must see a pic of our boat before he will allow it to be stored on his racks. (sorry no low level boats allowed here) They require first last and one month security for both our boat and trailer. October 2009 we told them we are going to leave and store our boat at our family's home because of personnel situation. They made up a new rule that I must give them one month lead time or I loose my last month on both trailer and boat. Tony tried to push me hard that it is in my contract with them. Meanwhile 6 weeks after many visits and tele calls they finally returned my security. Now they will not return or speak to me about returning my last month I prepaid 14 months ago. I let our local Lawyer read the single page contract, & he said Grove Harbour Marine & Caribbean Market Place (whoever that is?) must give ME 30 day notice should they decide to close up there operations. Tony has no idea what he is talking about and Allen the owner is MIA. I would never buy a Donzi or any boat from these guys or get involved with their storage at the docks or high & dry. Stay away!! Average wait time to get your boat is over an hour from the time you check in. The owner Alan or chino is absent all the time. They charge more than any other marina in Miami yet they cant afford to fix the fork lift so they can operate efficiently. Always an excuse as to why they only operate with one. i wish i can give this marina a negative rating!!!! because that is what grove Harbour deserves -5 i had my 36 ft 300k boat at this marina for 6 month. because i looks the cleanest, but looks can be deceiving. this marina is a night mare. i have a very long list of bad things to say and very Little time so... its safe to say that the owners don't give a dam about us. they just look at the Numbers. and will never call you back so don't leave them a message. i did over 5 times. the girls at the office OMG WOW safe to say that they are total air heads. and the guys around the marina are a mix bag from very nice to very very nasty. most of them (((nasty))) about a third. few other things of the top of my head.. - forget to put my boat in the water after i call x4 - brake my bumpers x2 - don't use my bombers after i lift them hanging over the side x? always - list goes on and on and on x1000000000000 thank god the marina is nice! over all rating= ((-5)) -4, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 notice the only OK reviews are from girls. go figure!! read more
