My uncle is a well regarded dentist in the DC area and he said vertical fractures cannot be salvaged. He recommended extraction. They said crown had to be attempted first. In the end, they gave me a prescription for the pain and I went to have the tooth removed elsewhere. I don't think I would return. It felt too much like an assembly line approach.

One dentist (a middle-aged lady of Indian descent), was absolutely excellent. Unfortunately, Bright Now hired a young dentist to run this location (Dr. Sandra) and she took over the practice with limited experience. My first visit with her was for a cleaning and six-month checkup. During the checkup, she played music and sang along loudly, cleaning my teeth to the rhythm of the song. She complained about how much Bright Now corporate was paying her and that they didn't recognize her value, but she was going to make sure they would. At one point, she took a phone call from her boyfriend (who was apparently coming to visit her from TX that day) and proceeded to have an argument with him in front of me. She also picked up her cell phone with her gloved hands, and then placed those same gloved hands in my mouth without changing gloves. I was then told I needed a root canal. This was a shock to me, because I had been to this location just six months earlier and received a clean bill of dental health based on X-rays. I asked for a referral to an endodontist in Westchase who Bright Now had previously referred me to and Dr. Sandra told that they would not be referring me out because she (Dr. Sandra) could do the root canal there. However, she told me (a man) that she wanted to refer some cases to the endodontist because he heard he was "very cute" and she wanted to meet him. The root canal was an amateur-hour disaster, with Sandra and her assistant forgetting steps, not knowing where to inject pain meds, leaving pins in my mouth and asking me not to move while they ran out of the room to fetch something. It was 3+ hours long and I was in pain the entire time. It was, by far, the most awful dental experience I have ever had. Not surprisingly, the attempted root canal ended up getting infected a few weeks later and had to be done properly by the endodontist in Westchase. I would avoid this location at all costs.

I called and made an appointment for December 22nd or 27th, can't remember exact date, I gave them my insurance policy information over the phone prior to going in, that insurance was ending at the ending of the year as we, my wife and I, were going to use her employers policy for both of us starting in the new year. They checked my insurance and assured me there would be no charge for the initial exam and to come in for the initial examination and the old insurance would cover it and when the new year starts they would charge any work to be done to my wife's policy. No Problem Well that's the beginning of the reason for this bad review, they called me 3 months later to inform me I owe them $39....... lol, I was told, they were told that the old insurance even though they said they would cover the initial examination is somehow not covering it ,,,,,,,lol when I told them that I would not have come in at the end of the year if I was going to be charged when in less than a week the new insurance would have covered it,,,, relentless was the young lady that called me insisting that I was responsible to pay the $39 even though she kept saying she appreciated everything I informed her of. I will fight that charge as long as it takes! I hadn't been in a dentist's office in over twelve years because of a bad experience. When I went to Dr. Deweese, she was understanding, helpful, gentle and patient with my fears. On top of that, she allowed me to have a say in my treatment plan. She is very conservative in her treatment choices, with a "less is better, more only when needed" approach. It was always easy to make an appointment, and I only had to wait once or twice for about 10 minutes. She has a friendly staff, and I can say I truly miss her practice now that I've moved.
