I frequent GPG often , especially on Tues and Thurs half price wine nights. That in itself is an awesome deal but the food quality, value and consistency is right up there as well. During our most recent visit we had the Sesame Crusted Tuna and Chicken, Bacon, Ranch Flatbread and both were outstanding. The flatbread was more like a pizza, with all of the cheese. Our service was top notch. Alex was the best server we've had in a very long time. He knew his stuff, super efficient and knew exactly when to stop by, very funny and truly acted like he loved his job. Alex definitely added to our dining experience. I've always had a really great experience at Grove Park Grille! Great food, friendly staff & enjoyable atmosphere.

They put us in the back room and it was uncomfortably hot and everyone noticed. The geotta appetizer was real good but the fried green tomatoes had too thick of a batter, like they were pre battered and frozen and sold in bags. I think those need to be lightly battered at the time of cooking. The entres were fine but it was hard to enjoy while it was so stuffy and hot. read more

This place used to be so good, we used to come all the time. Just went and my wife always gets the walleye. However, this time it was fried with the skin on, and it was pretty gross. For $28 you pay for a piece of fish and a lot of it she didn't eat, because of the nasty gray slimy skin stuck on it. Also the top part of the fish, that should have been nice and crunchy and white was laying against the plate, and it was all soggy. She complained to the manager, but he said that's just the way it is now, and they do not take the skin off, so if you come back that's the way it's going to be. My flatbread was burned around the edges, and floppy in the middle. I ate two end pieces and took the rest home to put in the air fryer to crust up. The service was a struggle, we had to ask for everything. Probably will not return. read more

Nice, cozy place, with good variety on the menu. Would not have known about it if we hadn't been visiting friends in the area. Our friends are regulars here, and knew well enough to reserve on an early Saturday evening (5:30). We arrived to an almost empty restaurant, but it did fill up quickly. I ordered a veggie flatbread, the Mr. ordered fish and chips, and our friends both had tempting-looking pasta dishes. We shared a key lime pie for dessert, and our friends enjoyed the creme brulee. Service was good, drinks arrived quickly, and in spite of the growing crowd, we never felt rushed to leave. Nice place, and definitely a MUCH better option than some of the MANY chains in the area. We went here before a concert at Riverbend for an early dinner. Location is great for that. Service was good, although we were brought the check basically immediately after receiving our food (despite wanting more drinks). It felt like we were being rushed out after only being there for 45 mins. Food was served quickly. I had a blackened chicken sandwich and the fingerlings. The chicken sandwich was really good. It's ranked in my top 5. The fingerlings came out somewhat warm and soggy. They didn't seem to be fresh and fell more into a potato wedge fry in my opinion. I wouldn't get them again. We sat inside and my biggest issue with this place was the noise! It's SO loud! It was just my partner and I but we couldn't hear each other/talk at all. We had to move our chairs to be closer together and even then, we kind of gave up on conversing. It was loud even when it wasn't full and only got worse as the night went on. Back after a year hiatus because I was less-than-impressed on our first visit. I gave it 2 stars that time. This time, I came after a concert (Kidz Bop-don't judge) with my husband and kid. She was happy with the kid's meal of buttered noodles. She also got a a kid's sundae, which she is shoving in her face at the moment. I got the soup of the day, Chicken Curry Chickpea, and the Cilantro-Lime Chicken Tacos. My husband got the Chicken Bacon Ranch Flathead. The soup was phenomenal!!! Highly recommend if available. The tacos...well, the chicken itself had no flavor. No lime flavor other than the small wedge for all 3 of my tacos. No cilantro flavor either. The flatbread, my husband says, was very good. He would recommend it. This was a much better experience than my first. Morgan was our server and she was awesome! read more

We belong to a British Car Club and we often have lunch following a drive. We normally make a reservation in advance due to the size of our group and to get the back dining room where we can be seated at the same table and it is quiet enough for us to plan future events. Service was mediocre. Menus were all different. Food was extremely low quality. Steak was not trimmed, not seasoned, and not cooked correctly. Lobster in the $30 seafood pasta was dry and old and inedible. Wings were dry. Mac and cheese was dry and lacking cheese. Spent $120 and had to order food when I got home. I came here with my parents as they were visiting from Louisville for my 39th birthday this weekend. Originally, we were headed to OTR or the banks, but there was a Red's game that day and everywhere was packed. Silly me, totally forgot about that when I chose where to go. We ended up here at Grove Park and I'm glad we did. I live off 275/Beechmont so it was really close. It's down off the river by the Belterra Park Casino, Riverbend, and Coney Island. We got there and requested a table on the patio since it was such a nice day. The hostess told us to hang tight for one sec and walked outside to see if tables were available and ended up cleaning off a table so that we could be accommodated. None of us had been here before, so we looked over the menu as our server asked if we wanted anything besides water. Usually, I'd order an adult beverage, but mom and step dad were driving back to Louisville so they just ordered soft drinks and I stuck with water. As our server was at the table for the initial greet, we also ordered the Crab Rangoon Dip as an app. He quickly brought our drinks and took our order. The Crab Rangoon Dip was pretty good IMO. My mom wasn't crazy about it and said it was too "crabby." Both my step dad and I loved it, so we finished it. I ordered a side house salad as well and loved it. The in house ranch they make is really good and the croutons are amazing! Both crunchy and melt in your mouth once bitten into. Mom and I split the Cape Cod fish sandwich and the Pulled Pork Cuban. We loved both! The Cape Cod features a tomato jam that is absolutely phenomenal. I asked for tartar sauce, but once I tasted that jam, there was no need for tartar. We also had fries, which were clearly fresh cut with skins on them and slaw, which was just ok. My step dad had a BYO burger. He ordered Med Rare since it's made from chuck, short rib, and brisket. It was cooked to perfection and he loved it. We didn't order dessert as we had cake back at the house. Service was good. Our server was attentive and anticipated our needs with refills and check backs. He was super busy as he had several tables. It was middle afternoon, so it can get tricky with staffing in those hours, but he did a good job with checking back and having others help with bussing our table. All in all, I was super pleased with our visit, especially since it was a secondary option and an "on the fly" decision. We noticed the manager assisting on just about everything whether it was running food or bussing tables. My first visit here was a great big "MEH." For a Thursday night, it was not that busy, so our group of 5 was seated quickly. However, the teenage servers stood around talking more than they waited on tables. Grove Park's take on a whiskey sour was sourrrrrrrrr and needed more simple syrup or a cherry garnish to balance the tartness of the lemon. But, my fried walleye tacos--with watermelon relish and Sriracha aioli--were quite good. (You can tell a lot about a restaurant by their fish tacos.) But the saving grace of this place... BRAISED CHICKEN NACHOS. I will come back to Grove Park JUST for that loaded manna from heaven. read more

Having heard wonderful comments regarding grove park grille, our party of three headed there for a Tuesday lunch. We sat outside on an usually cool sunny day and was promptly seated with the warning that due to staffing shortages lunch may take awhile. That didn't really play out as service was excellent. Wonderful server. I had the cod sandwich with cole slaw. Wife and friend had the salmon club. The club featured a large piece of salmon with bacon and tomato on a brioche bun. Both loved it. My fried cod however was not good. All breading no cod. I mean a very small piece of fish. Kind of like eating a well done breading only sandwich. Crunch crunch. The cole slaw was good and tangy. All in all a real mixed bag....salmon great, cod non existent. Otherwise easy parking and clean restroom. Ok. Thought they deserved a second chance and we were looking for place for dinner with friends. Pretzel bites and Margherita flatbread were excellent as starters as was the dessert , cream brule. Unfortunately. Another bomb of a sandwich, the Reuben. Tough, thick cut corn beef was the culprit. Yuck. Friends got the salmon. Loved it. Stick with the salmon. Had enough. Excellent service again. Was visiting my girlfriend and found this place. Located only a few miles from Riverbend. Very comfortable feel inside. Great atmosphere. Has a small town pub feel as well as a elegant restaurant vibe. The only negative is how the sound carries in the restaurant. It was very noisy. The food was excellent. I had the blackened walleye. It came with fries and slaw. Had great flavor. My date had the salmon. It was a large slab. She said it was excellent. They also have burgers, flatbreads, steaks and more. There is a salad that was a special one night and it was very different from any salad I've ever had but it was soooooo good. Cannot remember the name but might have had plantains In it. The prices however seem higher and you are supposed to make a reservation. The last two times we were there we got seated quickly. But yes make sure you call.
