My children have been attending GSM for over 5 years. All of the staff we have encountered have been very warm and welcoming, but most importantly very communicative and wonderful with my children; they truly care about each child as if they were their own. Their pre-school curriculum is exceptional and has helped both of my children excel when it came time for them to attend elementary. During the summer, there are numerous activities and field trips they plan for children. There is no other place we would rather have our children. I highly recommend GSM! read more

We have had all 3 of our kids attend Growing Scholars Montessori over the last 10 years. They have been amazing with our kids. All of our kids loved every teacher they had at Growing Scholars. They really took the time to get to know my kids, and help them grow both emotionally and academically. My kids entered Kindergarten above grade level in both reading and math. Mr. T the owner always interacts with the kids and parents daily. Anytime there was a accident at school between kids, I was immediately notified. Mr. T has built a great culture at his school and the staff are dedicated professionals. He has always been open to any feedback or concerns. The teachers are really supportive with parents and help in many ways including potty training. I would and have recommended them to any parent in our area! read more

Was told my son was running on playground fell and cut his finger.(on top of pinky) btw they decided to contact us 2hrs after incident. Picked up my son that afternoon then was told two kids fell(my son and another) but no one saw it. I asked to see video footage I was assured I could see it first thing in the morning. My fiancé went to view footage while I was attending via phone. The male owner was extremely rude and disrespectful to her to the point he was belittling her and telling her kids they have soft skin and it happens all the time. Well that's fine but the stories don't match up and neither does the cut to the story. After watching approximately 15 mins of footage it is found out that my son had NEVER RAN OR FELL! So now they are shocked bc the day prior I have and incident report filled out and signed saying this is what happened! The employee who signed the document was not even present outside when my son was injured but claims she picked him up off the ground after being injured! The video footage goes on to show that the real cause of the injury was an outside water fountain with extremely sharp edges. My son hunches over crying grabbing his hand in pain on video. Finally a teacher walks back outside 2 ft away from my son and walks ride past him crying as he is trying to show her his injury! Another teacher finally notices and goes wash the injury with water from the splash pad!(bc that is sanitary) then goes back inside while my injured kid stays outside and the teacher walks past him YET AGAIN and goes sit down and what looks like to go play on phone in corner. This place is a nightmare! Will make every excuse they can even with video footage! Police were contacted and case was reported as CHILD ENDANGERMENT! There were about 2 separate times when my kid had an "accident" where he would get hurt and they either did not contact me or contacted me hours later - I would find out due to a family member working in a different classroom. Ultimately withdrew him due to lack of communication, rude and toxic staff, and discontentment with the whole place. 0/10 do not recommend. read more

Stay away from this school with 2 brunches , it's owned by a husband and wife. My kids and myself were mistreated by the owner(the husband) and the director Nicole. I'm still documenting all that partnering with legal department but I wanted to warn everyone to stay away. Nicole is beyond rude, no surprise.. the owner is even worse. They pickup a phone and raise their voice and insult -just like that. My daughter came one day with a broken tooth, did I get a report? NO! Did anyone tell me about it ?? NO! I called and complained they answer was OH yes she fell in the gym!! REALLY!!!!!!! I went and picked up my kids immediately from the West RD location and pulled all their records and saw an investigation going on , looking at cameras, pulling days .. etc so apparently the story is bigger than this and I'm not the only one suffering. We love Growing Scholars Montessori! After seeing our nephew and niece develop there, it was no question that's where our little ones would go. No surprise there is normally a wait list to enroll your kiddo. The staff is great and the teachers are amazing. The Director (Nicole) will always do her best to find the right teacher "fit" for your child based on his/her personality. Because Montessori is very individualized to the specific child, scheduling and attending teacher conferences are important! Any concerns we've had have been promptly addressed and guidance is always given as to how we can enhance learning at home, when asked for. If I had one critique (and this is not specific to GSM, but all schools, in general) is the nutritional options provided. For the good money we pay, I would love to see healthier, less "American junk food" options available. This would also help us parents out who try to guide our little ones to eat better so we aren't constantly fighting the "burger, pizza, nuggets, hot dog, spaghetti, Mac & cheese" battle. Being of European-Mediterranean descent, Maria Montessori took the opportunity to establish excellent scholastic foundations. We could continue that trend by using the environment to create better dietary habits in our children as well. I have had no issues with this school. Front of house staff can be a bit blunt, but they're not uncaring at all, and listen when you have a concern. The daytime teachers are amazing and help with so much, from learning to life skills. The afternoon teachers are so fun and help with imagination and play. My daughter is about to read and isn't even 4 yet. She loves learning with this school and hates missing time there because she loves her teachers so much. Prior establishment was not the same, and I'm forever thankful that we found GSM. I have no doubts that she'll be more than prepared for kindergarten and more. I just hope that I can keep up! They let kids work out issues themselves, which has its ups and downs, but it's easy to get to know the kids and see both sides before making a judgement. Really love this school. read more

Great school around the cypress area. My daughter has been going there for more than a year and a half now and touch wood I have had great experience with both management and the teachers. They have regular check-in with the parents, keep kids engaged on a constant learning curve with both structured tutoring and outdoor play activities. Looking for a good clean and neat school in the neighborhood I would say check it out for sure. read more

I never leave reviews on anything, but felt I needed to inform other parents of our terrible experience. My husband shows up to pick up our daughter and she has throw up in her hair. When asked what happened they casually stated, oh she threw up. We did not receive a call (or any notification) of this occurring. We had no idea what happened; it's terrifying not knowing the cause. Did she hit her head? Were others vomiting? Is it food related? This place does NOT COMMUNICATE nor are they transparent with the parents. After my husband did not get any answers from the front desk, because "they didn't know it happened" I proceeded to call. Again, when asked, their answer was "I was on break and don't know what happened. I can call the director if you'd like or you can ask in the morning." Shocked, I asked if they had a protocol in place to notify parents of these incidents and she said if someone has a fever over 99 we call. I do not feel comfortable leaving my child in their care and beyond disappointed with how the situation was handled/my daughter was treated. read more

I have 3 children enrolled at growing scholars. 2 in the Older infant room and 1 in a primary class. The school is beyond amazing. One of my twins has food allergies and they welcome him with open arms and make sure that he is kept safe throughout the day. This mean providing special care just for him, which isn't always easy with other little ones to care for. My 3 year old is learning things that kindergartners don't know when they start school. The owner has always been extremely helpful and always makes himself available to address any concerns or answer any questions I may have. The front desk staff are very welcoming and always ready help me get my kids in and out. The director is very attentive and very clearly has the best interest of the kids in mind when making any decisions. They are always very good about telling me what goes on with my kids throughout the day. I get incident reports for everything. They also call me often to relay accidents so I am aware when they occur. They truly go above and beyond for the kids every day. As a teacher myself I spend all day taking care of and teaching other people's kids. It's nice to know someone is treating mine exactly how I would treat them. read more

DO NOT enroll your child at this school on Fry rd. The ADULT employees are all rude and think they're better than everyone. The teenage employees are a lot better and are more mature. The front desk lady never greets anyone and doesn't answer ay question. And when you do ask a question she'll talk to you like you're a nuisance. The teacher my child had is rude and VERY passive aggressive. If you're going to work at a primary school of all things, you at least have to know ho to be kind and have patience. My child always comes home saying "mommy I hate school I don't want to go". It is a drag trying to get them to go to school everyday. Not sure how badly they're treating my child for them to be talking like that. The entire building also STINKS. I cannot say enough positive things about GSM. They have been like family to us since my oldest started there at 1 year old and he is now almost 8. I've had two other children who have both attended as newborns until now (4 and almost 2). The staff are loving and caring, the educational program is top-notch (and as a school principal I am VERY picky in this area), and any time I have had any problem, it has been handled swiftly and appropriately. We recently moved and there are at least 10 early childhood schools more convenient to our work/home locations, but I continue to make the drive because the care and growth at GSM is, in my opinion, unrivaled. read more

My daughter has attended this daycare since she was 4 years old (shes now 6). Its truely like an actual school not just a daycare. She learned so much to prepare her for kindergarten that she was actually "over qualified" for kinder. The owners are so nice as well as all of the teachers and teacher assistants. Long review alert: I thought this school was great until I had to learn the hard way that they don't have my kids best interest at heart. I have two kids who attended growing scholars and my oldest attended since he was 2, and is now 5. I love Mrs. Maria and Mrs. Rajni. I'm saying that to say there are some great teachers here; however it's the owners and the young workers that I have an issue with. My son was waiting on the playground to go down the slide when a kid ran into him full speed and caused him to hit his head. My sons friend ran and told the teacher, and the teacher just came and told the kid to say sorry. My child was crying that his head was hurting and the teacher didn't do anything about it. We (my husband and I) did NOT RECEIVE A REPORT and no one even told us what happened. My son was acting strange we he got home, acting spaced out, so we took him to the ER. When we got to the ER he started vomiting, and fell asleep and WOULD NOT wake up!!! This was the scariest moment of my life. My child had suffered a concussion and no one even reported the injury to us. We went on the next business day to talk to the director Mrs. Nicole and she said she did not know what happened, and we (my husband and I) were angry and demanded answers. So she called the owner to come talk to us. He basically tried to downplay the situation by saying first he didn't know it happened and then saying that the teacher suggested maybe something else was wrong with him. He was very insensitive to the situation and provided no answers for us, and then had the nerve to kick our kids out of the daycare because we expressed our disappointment with the no reporting issue. Therefore, I don't recommend this daycare to anyone. Don't let the good fool you because the owner and administration don't really care about your kids. They definitely put money ahead of caring because if they didn't, they wouldn't hire young inexperienced, and inattentive workers to come in to watch the kids in the afternoon which is exactly who were watching the kids when my son's accident happened. read more

I am going to try to write the most honest and least bias review as possible. I had my 3 year old at the school for only a few months. So let's start with the positives; my child's vocabulary took off once I enrolled her in the school. Not sure if it was their way of teaching, her being around 4-6yr olds in the primary class, or normal development. This was an honest observation. Also, the front staff was nice and they serve food that kids actually eat. Now let's get to the bad stuff...there is no communication between parents and students. I asked about a daily progress note and was told, "this is primary school, we don't provide sheets to these kids only the little kids. When I would ask the young, teenage looking caretaker taking over after the main teacher leaves what or how my child did they would say that I have to ask her teacher by calling or catching her before school at 8:30am when she gets in or right before she leaves at 3pm, what working parents can do this? The few times I did ask her questions she acted as if I was a nuisance. Then, my first week there I found a large pair of adult scissors hanging open, sharp edges exposed on the door in a hole; it was apparent a child got their hands on them and put them there, because what adult would do something so dangerous in a classroom? I gave the scissors to the people in the front, they apologized and said they would talk to the teacher. Next, my child literally suffered two injuries literally within a two week time span, the first a bite on the back after an argument over a book with another child and the second a big scratch that broke the skin under her eye. I think these type of things mostly happen due to a large student teacher ratio and poor supervision. Next the teacher my daughter had was inappropriate. I overheard her telling a young child between the age of 3-6 that they got an answer wrong because they were not thinking in a scolding nonencouraging and then I heard her yelling at my child one day to "move it." You should not yell at children, the same message can me communicated in a gentle way. No wonder my child became increasingly anxious when attending this school. This was my experience; my best friend reported a totally different positive experience. It could be the classroom my child was in or that the school has changed for the worse. This sometimes happens when schools start putting money before students and their staff. I would never recommend this school to anyone. read more
