Naturally, the squad mobilized. We've been on a low-key quest for legit Cuban pizza in Ocala, and folks... this place delivered--literally and figuratively. It's a family-run operation, which we love. The chef had his sons on deck, working the line like seasoned pros. I ordered the pepperoni pizza, the kids stuck to cheese (classic), and the wife veered off the pizza path with their spaghetti and queso crema (cheese soup). The pizzas? Fire. Crispy, flavorful, and made fresh to order--exactly what you want out of a food truck find. The spaghetti? Solid. The queso crema? A bit of a curveball. Flavor didn't quite land, but hey--one minor glitch in an otherwise tasty mission. Pro tip: Call ahead. Everything's made fresh, so a little planning = a much smoother landing. He even gave me a quick call since he was too busy to text but wanted to make sure he got my order right --such amazing service. We ordered four pizzas -- Hawaiian, chorizo (2), and onion--and they were ready exactly at the time I requested. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming. He mentioned that on weekends, they also sell tamales and yuca. The pizzas were phenomenal. They brought me right back to the Cuban pizzas from the island! The dough was perfect, and at $10 each, these personal pizzas were a great deal. Cuban pizzas are naturally dense, so even though they're "personal," they definitely filled us up. I highly recommend checking out this spot if you're in the area.
