We spent a lovely couple of hours at the Gruet tasting room in Santa Fe. The service was friendly and informative, the surroundings were pleasant (we sat in the garden). Every wine we tried was good (we're Gruet fans), although we were surprised there was no St.Vincent on offer. In fact our servers had never even heard of it??? We went for the whole hog, joined their wine club and ended up buying a couple of cases of wine. I'm certain we will have many more shipped to us. A lovely way to wile away an afternoon in Santa Fe. read more

We were in town for a quick 3 days and luckily had time to stop here. I chose the build your own champagne flight and kakawa chocolate flights. We came in closer to closing and the vibe was really chill. It was a great place for us to relax and regroup after a long day of sightseeing and shopping. Our waitress was very helpful and knowledgeable about all the wines. I would definitely comeback any time I'm in Santa Fe! read more

We visited Gruet Winery on New Year's Eve and were pleasantly surprised to be seated quickly. This is a lovely, upmarket wine bar located inside the beautiful, historic St. Francis Hotel. I ordered the sparkling Chardonnay flight, and my husband and son enjoyed the coconut pineapple mocktail, which was surprisingly good. The service was friendly and the ambiance elegant. I'd definitely come back next time I'm in town to sample more of their wine selection. read more

The Gruet Winery tasting room, located within the historic St. Francis Hotel, is easily visible from the street and offers a welcoming presence in the downtown area of Santa Fe. While reservations are available on their website, they don't appear to be necessary. During my visit, tables were turning over at a steady pace. The patio is really charming, but I also admired the vibes in the inside tasting room area as well. Wine flights seemed to be the popular choice with most of the tables around me, and I opted for the Staff Favorites Sparkling Flight, which offered a well-curated selection to try. In addition to flights, the tasting room serves cocktails, wines by the glass, and a small menu of snacks (cheese, caviar, etc.) Overall, Gruet is a wonderful spot and worth a visit. read more

I have several friends that own wineries in New Mexico but enjoy French wine and Stag's Leap and Frog's Leap in Napa valley. I was pleasantly surprized to try Gruet. Unfortunately, when I drove down from Denver to Santa Fe the tasting room was completely booked. I called 5 times to try to book or just be able to buy some wine and the customer service was horrible and rude. They hung up several times and said not to call back they were booked for 3 months. I notice new comments that maybe I'll try again. read more

We were greeted very rudely when the server heard I do not drink ( sorry not everyone does) but my husband wanted to enjoy some wine. She begrudgingly helped with his wine selection. We tried ordering the snacking trays of which they were out of 2 out of 3 of them. It was 2pm ! We wound up with the meat tray ($30) which had a small amount of meat (1/2 crackers). My husband did enjoy his wine and me my sparkling water. The patio was nice. But overall the price was not worth the experience. read more

Those who know me, know that I love wine. I love vineyards and tasting rooms, and I can be very opinionated about the wine I drink. Gruet Winery tasting room happened to be just across the street from the hotel where we were staying. I was eager to taste wines from New Mexico. When we walked in, we were readily greeted and offered a choice of seating. I first noticed some colorful art on the walls. The tasting room wasn't overly crowded, but it still had a lively atmosphere. We noticed they had a variety of flights and were able to speak to a staff member for a while. She explained that they specialize in sparkling wine. I realized that Gruet does sell some sparkling wine around other parts of the country and that I have had one or two varieties in the past. I explained what I liked and did not like in wines, and the she helped me select my flight. I chose the sparkling rose' flight and my friend chose the spring flight (mix of whites and rose's). We also shared a cheese plate. The staff was accessible and answered our questions. I very much enjoyed the wines, as well as our entire experience in the tasting room. I will look for more Gruet wines when I shop and dine in my hometown. read more

If you have the means, it's a must stop in Santa Fe. Hubs and I enjoyed and shared 2 flights while we were visiting. The Heritage Sparkling Pinot Noir Flight, and the St. Francis Still Wine Flight. At $16 each, I believe these are a great value. My favorite of the bubbles was the Barrel-Aged Blanc de Noirs NV, both roses were nice too. I didn't care for the Grand Rose 2016 because it was heavy on Chardonnay and I just don't like Chardonnay. On the still flight, I absolutely loved the Reserve Pinot Noir 2019. I nearly bought a bottle. Oh- I came so close! I could have sipped the Still Rose 2021 all day, and after the Reserve Cab Franc 2020 opened more, I began to really love that too. It was definitely a food wine. On a nicer day, sitting out on the patio would be lovely here! We will definitely return on our next visit to SF. read more

I can't go to New Mexico and not do a Gruet tasting. The tasting room is small but cute, attached to the historic St Francis Hotel. The service was just okay. We felt subtly slighted from the time we walked in until we left, not sure why. I had the sparkling flight because it's Gruet. The sparkling is a fair value for the price. No trip to Santa Fe is complete without a trip to the Gruet Tasting Room. If you don't know Gruet, you should. It is probably the best and most affordable sparkling wine in the U.S. The main winery is in Albuquerque, NM. Most of their grapes come from Washington and Oregon. The tasting room in touristy Santa Fe is the perfect way to spend an afternoon quaffing some well-made sparkling wines and their red wines are exceptional too. Whether you choose a flight, a tasting or a full glass, your server will regale you with fun facts about production and their entire wine selection. The tasting room itself is small, and quite intimate which makes the experience all the better. They offer small bites to accompany the wines. (Even caviar). For those brave souls, we saw taking a few sips of wine outside with the snow, Gruet provided wool blankets. Impressive. To avoid that -- Make a reservation. Tough to get in without one. read more

Gruet has a beautiful little tasting room with an outdoor courtyard at the corner of the St Francis Hotel. We really enjoyed being able to taste in their courtyard, which also has heat lamps and blankets. Gruet offers a wide array of sparking and still wines. Select from an assortment of tasting flights, or order by the glass or by the bottle. In case you're not familiar, Gruet is a well established NM winery that specializes in sparkling wines made in the traditional champagne method. For decades I've been a big fan of their Blanc de Noirs NV-- a white méthode champenoise made primarily from pinot noir grapes. A must stop! read more

Love this little tasting room in Santa Fe, the bubbly is great too! I wish more wineries did this where they have a tasting room in the city and the bigger winery outside of town. Gruet I had heard of but never tried. We tried their wine flights which was great because you get to pick out of all the choices! I loved the ambiance and the set up, nice little heated patio, and just a nice chill laid back place. Great find in Santa Fe, especially if you like sparking wine! I am delinquent submitting this review. We visited in May 2025 on (amazingly) a snowy day. Yeah, we weren't expecting that in May either. The tasting room is very bright and well appointed. We enjoyed a variety of wines but the brut rose was our favorite. It was affordable and approachable and they even had some delightful snacks to enjoy with the tasting. The bulk of the room was reserved for a wine tour but that did not hinder our experience at all. The team at Gruet had it all under control. Who knew you could get excellent wine in New Mexico? Would highly recommend a visit! read more

What a wonderful winery and tasting room! We had the best experience sampling three different wine flights at Gruet. The outdoor space is absolutely beautiful on a hot summer day, and I was so pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste of each wine we sampled. The staff here is fantastic and were quick with explanations and recommendations. I particularly loved the sparkling rose I tried and their entire flight of bubbles was delightful. Highly recommend checking this place out. Maybe the best tasting experience off the West Coast. Before doing the tasting here, I was convinced there was no good wine coming from the SW United States. Gruet changed my mind. It was a strange series of events that lead us to the tasting room. Spoiler, we went twice. We first noticed their vines and facility between ABQ and Santa Fe. Then we picked up a bottle in the grocery store. Impress with what we tasted we found their tasting room. The staff was excellent and the patio was perfect. I would skip the red wines. Once the summer heat subsides, I will definitely be ordering a few cases. read more

Wow have never been treated so bad at a wine tasting room in my life. I guess he was the manager but a Paul Montoya was very rude to me and when I tried to take his picture for my page he told me he was going to I quote "knock me the f out if I take his picture" If this is how they treat customers and wine club members beware . Whenever I am back home in NM, gruet is an obligatory stop! The service is top notch, never have I had an empty glass here. The sparkling wines rival that of France- small delicate bubbles with full flavor, amazing variety and good bar snacks. 100% recommend visiting gruet if you're ever in the area!! This place is amazing! From the ease of making reservations to the service. Paul was so helpful with the recommendations and didn't push me to a particular direction once I told him what I like. I ordered a custom flight with a few sparkling wines-that's what they are known for-and a few flats. My favorite was their Cabernet and surprisingly, sparkling, Blanc de Blanc '16. Although I had a custom flight he still took the time to explain each one and which order I should enjoy them. The only draw back is they don't ship. The first time that I ever tried their sparkling wine, was when a friend brought a bottle over to my house. She was like, "Can you believe this is from New Mexico and its actually good?" - It was really good! Their tasting room is small yet very relaxing. We chose to sit outside and enjoy the sun and they brought our flights out to us. It was a nice touch at the end when he offered us a chance to try something else on the menu that was not a part of the flights. If I had time to check my luggage, I would have probably brought a bottle or two back. read more

Established in 1989.

The Gruet family started producing champagne in Bethon, France in 1952. Gilbert, Laurent and Nathalie Gruet relocated to New Mexico and started planting in 1984 and released their first wines in 1989.

The hummus and pita with hot honey and feta was pretty good, and our son loved his pasta dish from the kids menu, but that was the extent of the magic here. The paninis the rest of our party ordered were again, just ok. When I went to the restroom I was appalled. There was some really gross stuff sticking to the wall next to the toilet; I couldn't tell if it was barf or poop, but it really turned me off. Good thing we were already on our way out. The atmosphere is kind of a New Orleans vibe with a high ceiling and covered terrace upstairs with plants that you can see from the downstairs area. That was nice. The day before when I was walking around the Plaza, they had a big carafe of fruit-infused ice water outside the restaurant with plastic cups for people to help themselves to, and it was super refreshing. That was the best thing about this place.

The ambiance is cool, both literally and figuratively....it was so pleasant to come in from the summer heat into this stylish and AC'd spot featuring local artists' work on the walls, and the hand soap in the bathroom also felt artisan and special. There were other patrons and he graced every party with the same attentiveness and expertise. We each ordered a flight, and when Evan was knowledgeably explaining the wines we selected, it made me crave and decide to ask for a glass of bubbly. Finally, we had a Zinfandel Port which was really impressive. The tasting room itself is not much to mention. Its functional and offers the usual books and spouts and aprons you might find in another tasting room. The bathrooms look like they were lifted from a Getty station. The man offering the tastings was pleasant and knowledgeable. If you like wine and are in the area. See what's offered away from the West Coast. You might be pleased as we were.

This is the original. As I said in a separate review, Denver's convergence station is the largest at 90K square feet. But it felt more sprawling and convoluted than the smaller Texas and NM venues. I haven't seen the supermarket themed Vegas venue. This is smaller than Denver, but more coherent. Still a lot to touch and do and see. Weird things to connect. And again, if you've seen other Meow Wolfs, you'll understand all others better. In true Meow Wolf style, brilliant, bright, jubilant art that you can lay your hands all over. Stair cases to climb. Tunnels to crawl through. Someone else compared it to a colorful real life board game, and that tracks. It was busy, but not uncomfortably crowded. Like Denver, you can grab a drink at the bar and sip booze as you stroll. There are puzzles to solve here (I confess, I didn't have the fortitude or patience, but you can spend all day here solving riddles). You can go again and again and find new things every time. I wasn't sure if I already had an "account" with the theater so I tried opening one. Had to identify the pictures with motorcycles. I clicked on a wrong square by mistake. Then had to identify all the squares with things made by humans. So that got me to the log in screen. "That email is already associated with an account" Tried logging in with that email but didn't remember the password (it's been years). "Incorrect password. Create new password." Tried creating a new password. "Password must be at least 13 characters, an upper case and lower case and a number and a symbol. Typed it in. Kept getting incorrect password message. There was no little eyeball to click on to see what I was doing wrong. Closed the screen. Had to start over again. "Select the squares with images similar to the one at the top" I selected all the basketballs. Was that blurry squirrel holding a basketball or is he holding an acorn? It must be an acorn. Wrong. "Select the squares with images similar to the one at the top" Ah, the squirrels again. I got this. So I clicked on all the pictures of basketballs and squirrels with basketballs. "Choose a new password" I typed in very carefully, then realized the caps lock was on. WELL IF YOU TICKET PEOPLE HAD PUT A WAY FOR ME TO ACTUALLY SEE WHAT I WAS TYPING I WOULD HAVE CAUGHT THE CAPS LOCK!!! For your security, an eight digit security code will be sent to the email address you supplied. No email. Went back to the previous screen. Clicked on send code again. Two emails arrived with codes. Entered the newest code. "Welcome to your account." Meanwhile other windows are popping up asking if I want to save this username and password. Clicked them away. Not now. So I navigated to the show I wanted to buy tickets for and finally got to where I could select our seats. But the thingy went round and round and round - no seat selection screen. Clicked on the back button. "Click here and we will assign the best available seats." Click. Click to view price. Click to continue. Click to view cart. Where is the pay now? Went back to previous screen to see if I missed something. Selected the tickets again. "Continue" Now I have selected 4 tickets instead of 2. Delete 2 tickets. Continue to cart. Two tickets plus fees. OK. Continue to check out. Enter credit card information. Did something wrong. Credit card info disappeared. Entered credit card again. (I'm sure there was another security code but I really can't remember as I was so angry and frustrated.) Continue. Order Confirmation: Showed customer number etc. Then this note: If you selected digital tickets as your delivery method (default option) you can access your tickets within minutes after purchasing them at (website) Log in with the same email and password you use for (the theater) account, or you can request a one time access code via email. From there you can share tickets with your guests and save the tickets to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. I DON'T HAVE APPLE WALLET OR GOOGLE WALLET! I went to the ticket website to access my tickets and viewed the tickets. They had all the info except a QR Code and this Note: Your refreshing QR code will display at 5:30 PM on Sat, June 20, 2026. DISPLAY WHERE? I AM NOT GOING TO TRY TO ACCESS MY ACCOUNT ON MY PHONE! I WILL BE AT DINNER AT 5:30 AND WON'T HAVE MY COMPUTER AND PRINTER. I printed EVERYTHING out (5 yes FIVE pages but are any of them valid tickets? I doubt it.) By this point I had cursed, swore, screamed and yelled so loud they could have heard me across town. It was more than an hour trying to buy two tickets. NEVER AGAIN. I tried calling the Box Office to make sure I could use my receipt and print outs, but of course they were closed for the holiday. I can go on other websites, select an item, place it in the cart, choose "Pay Now", enter my credit card and I'm DONE. No pictures of motorcycles, or basketballs, or squirrels holding basketballs that look like acorns, no security codes, no QR codes no Apple Wallets or Google Wallets. This whole process was ridiculous and a waste of time. And dare I say "PRETENTIOUS".
