I was in Santa Fe for a field trip day of work. Once u parked, I was heading to my destination. But..since I had time and my eyes happened to catch their signs re: olive oil and home made ice cream..I figured I'd delay my work a bit and check this place out...and I was so glad I did! I ended up spending time browsing their high quality merchandises including some spices, balsamic vinegar and..olive oils. Man...there were so many things to sample and flavors...and I only tried a few of each that intrigued me. I got so into it that u even left my cell phone there (until someone announced out loud whose cell phone was this?!?!..oops). Anyways, I got their brochure home so I could plan on ordering and getting some items delivered for some of my friends and myself for sure...just need to decide what I wanted because there were so many things go choose from! Furthermore, what was so refreshing was their ice cream! The ice cresms were Henry's homemade ice cream (from El Paso i think) and there were so many interesting toppings ti choose from. My gluttony eyes and stomach ..after trying some samples, opted for a double scoops (because..just a single scoop wouldn't do justice to yummy treats!) of pistachio and coconut ice cream, with toppings of pomegranate dark balsamic and red chile honey. After finishing ice cream, which I totally devoured..I realized..sang u forgot to even ask for an evoo topping! Well, maybe next time I'm there! Check this place out! There are so many things check out and sample. The staff were nice and helpful. I think you can easily spend 30-45 min there browsing at the store. For me, I ended up being 45 min later than my original thought of meeting time..because I go so caught up spending time at this store checking out and trying their products! read more

Fantastic store with a great selection of oils and balsamics among other fun foods, and even ice cream. All of the oils and balsamics were lined up and ready to be sampled. I tried a few of each, and ended up getting a small bottle of the grilled lemon and rosé balsamics. They had some very New Mexico flavors with different chilies, and some other unique ones that I haven't seen at other oil shops. Aside from the balsamics and oils they had dried beans, olives, jams, seasonings, and spices. Customer service was very friendly and helpful, and they offer to ship out of state for visitors. read more

This is such a great spot for local gifts. Florencia is so kind and knowledgeable. I love the green chile honey the most!

As you can see from the photos, the ristras that they sell here, untreated, are excellent quality as they work with a local person. And I must tell you that the prices are incredibly fair, so much so that when we pass back through Santa Fe, I can see myself filling up my trunk with Christmas gifts to take back to Houston. Pricing ranges from approximately $20-$30 and that is an excellent price compared to other places in town. It's possible that Albuquerque has lower prices, but I am totally content and committed to patronize this businessand the local people that they work with. read more

We were greeted by very nice and engaging store employees when we walked in. On the olive oil side there is free tasting and free coffee in the back. The attached walk thru store has hot sauce tastings and ice cream. We got the green mint chocolate chip ice cream and it was amazing. It was light and creamy with a lot of thin chocolate chips in every bite. Absolutely the best ice cream I have had in a long time. Go beat the heat and enjoy a cool treat at this place. You know...they get you into the shop with free samples!! What they don't tell you is that you will be tasting all the amazing oils and vinegars that now you love them all and have to take them all home!! We came in because the hubs needed more toasted sesame oil and the next thing you know, Elizabeth and Wyatt are having us try their favorites and making delicious combinations for us to try such as Honey Ginger vinegar & Toasted sesame oil or Jalapeño oil & Apricot vinegar. Elizabeth paid attention to all my likes and would put those bottles on the desk for purchase! I loved the customer service because I was able to continue to try more without having to stop to get the items off the shelves. All in all, we left with nearly $500 of oils and vinegars and I'm not regretting it at all!! I just can't wait to cook with all of them! read more

Santa Fe Olive Oil is a lovely store/tasting room where you can sample a variety of unique olive oils and vinegars. In the middle of the store, they have a long table with bottles of their many flavors and small cups for you to try them out (shot-style) in. The oils were all so tasty and so were the vinegars. after trying most of them, I decided my favorite combo was the rosemary olive oil with the fig balsamic - absolutely divine - and so I bought a bottle of each to take home. The staff are very friendly and constantly asking if you need help or recommendations. I received a nice discount for Memorial Day weekend, and they ship online! Walked by this spot so many times when visiting Santa Fe but this time their coffee and ice cream sign caught my eye. Went inside and discovered their new ice cream and coffee area which was so cute. Got the cortado which was smooth and yummy. Then was recommended by the really nice guy at the counter the salted caramel ice cream with blood orange oil drizzle and that was a real treat. Super yummy and great combination. Not too sweet and so flavorful. My family got a few of their other flavors including lavender and mint chocolate chip and those were all really really good too! Unbelievably delicious infused fine olive oils and balsamic vinegars in this wonderful shop. Twice this trip I was helped immensely by Leroy who clearly understands both fine food and superb customer service. He showed me the delightful combination of blackberry ginger balsamic vinegar with toasted sesame oil on chicken or wild salmon as well as green salad. I purchased their phenomenal peach balsamic and apricot balsamic vinegars. Both taste exactly like the fruits. Leroy shipped everything home for me, which I deeply appreciate. Asbolutely AWFUL Customer Service. I have been a loyal customer for years. Last time I went into their store, it was EMPTY. I'm not exaggerating. No display bottles with samples, nothing on the shelves, nothing to sell, AT ALL. Nada. I drove over 600 miles, and every time I am in Taos, I make the drive to Santa Fe and specifically sought out this place. NO MORE. The chicky at the counter's response to her bare store? "Yeah.... we hope to have some back in stock by, like.... the holidays, or whatever." So I sent an email, asking what was up, and asking them to ship me my vinegar and (GASP!) WAIVE their (Ridiculous and ASTRONOMICAL) shipping charges of HALF THE COST OF THE BOTTLE. Seriously. 8 frigging dollars to ship. You be cray! Two months go by, no reply. So I email again. Finally got a reply, (Not signed of course, so I can't call this lovely "Representative" out by name) but here's an excerpt: "As with any business, our selection is always subject to supply and demand... We highly recommend calling ahead of time to check on product availability." Uhhh, NEWSFLASH, honey. You're a STORE. So that's a real simple job. Your job, as a STORE, is to have something to SELL in said store. ANYTHING. Ya had crap, lady. "We strive to keep our product prices and shipping low, and therefore, we cannot cut out shipping prices entirely, not even on out-of-stock products. These products can...be purchased on our website at any time with a reasonable $8 shipping fee." Really, Chickypoo? EIGHT DAMN DOLLARS is reasonable for ONE BOTTLE of VINEGAR? Honey, you done dunked your donut in the bat**** crazy sauce this morning. Now I see why the OTHER Olive Oil place, "Oleaceae" (one block away) was completely stocked with tons of people and your little void into the abyss was empty of both product and customers. While I will speak a bit to the quality of the olive oils that I sampled, this review primarily deals with the customer service and interaction with staff - or lack thereof. My wife and I entered the store during business hours to find it empty except one worker who was behind the counter. She glanced up briefly before going back to the magazine or book she was reading. We proceeded to explore the store and sample some of the olive oils and vinegars that were on display. During our time in the store, which was approximately 10 minutes, the worker never approached us, offered samples or gave information about the olive oils themselves. This problematic because there were no prices listed on or near the olive oils that we can see. My wife and I have visited olive oil stores in several different locations and have found it standard practice for workers to approach, offer assistance and provide information. This is the only store I've visited where there was no interaction whatsoever. That being said, the olive oil and vinegar it's self seemed like a fairly solid product based on my tastings. Feel free to buy olive oil there, but don't expect pleasant or helpful interactions with the staff. read more

This is the true review from Big Jim & Smalls. We are true palate aficionados when it comes to the finest flavors experienced on the planet whenever available. We were probably the only people who have walked into this store in the past 4 days, and we were looked upon like vagabonds and we truly thought the clerk thought we were going to hold up the store - yeah like we need the 12 dollars and 47 cents she had in the til. I have never been so insulted by a unqualified representative in my years of sales experience, management and ownership. We were genuinely interested in the product and had questions that she was unable to answer - simple questions like... what would you use this flavor of vinegar for? Did I have to enter the store riddled with make up, sheep skin boots and SF ski tickets to receive possible attention? What vinegar complements this oil, what oil complements this vinegar? The German Shepard that roamed the store was much more attentive than the woman working there. How disappointing. We purchased $40 worth of delicious product with a totally speechless representative that did not steer us in sales whatsoever. read more

I am new here to Santa Fe. I must say, this place is so disorganized! They are not open when their website says they are open. I had to come back three times. I went there to buy some Xmas gifts for family. I told them that my family would be going out of town the week before xmas and that is why I am there ordering products EARLY. So 27 bucks for a bottle including shipping. Fine. A week later- products are still not sent out. ?! I know it is supposed to be the "land of manana", but it certainly wasn't when they snapped up my money. First and last time I shop there. read more

This store offer the best Balsamic vinegar I've tasted anywhere. Yeah, it costs $19 a bottle, but I felt it was worth shelling out that kind of dough for something this tasty. It's consistency is that of a reduced balsamic and the flavor is so appealing I found myself buying two bottles. The lady behind the counter was helpful and friendly. I sampled several of the olive oils and settled on an avacado and garlic oil that can withstand up to 400 degrees (supposedly). It also is very favorable and unique. These also would make excellent gifts and they will either mail free with order of six bottles or give you the seventh bottle at no charge. Only downside is trying to find a place to park along Don Diego off the Plaza. read more

We couldn't resist checking out a place that's all about olive oil, so specialized. Learned it's half balsamic as well. Very engaging staff and owner, they share their knowledge and passion for what they carry without being pushy. If bottles were less expensive we may have bought some, however we will consider it next time we're going out of town and want to bring gifts from Santa Fe - They have gift packs with smaller bottles. I know some folks on here had bad customer service & shopping experiences at Santa Fe Olive Oil & Balsamic Company, but ours was rather pleasant. There were plenty of oils & balsamic vinegars to sample and the woman working at the store was pleasant as well. I personally prefer to be left alone and shop and if I have a question, I'll ask. The employee working gave us a brief explanation of the products and left us to sample as we chose. Last week, I went to the shop in Nob Hill to get some olive oil and to just "look around". The woman working there acted like she was doing me a favor, and wasn't very helpful. I can tell you that I will not return to that shop. The least she could have done was get her duff off the chair and familiarize me with different oils and vinegars.
