**INITIAL REVIEW** It is only fitting that I check out another breakfast/brunch place with the iconic American breakfast staple "biscuit" mentioned in their name. As for such locales within the Space Coast, this is the third one (off the top of my head) I have had the pleasure to dine in, right after "Oh" and "Twisted." So was Grumpy's Biscuits (which I will shorthand simply to Grumpy's for the remainder of this review) just another fine establishment to add to other fine breakfast estabishments here on the coast that shoots off rockets, or did they standout. I am happy to review that Grumpy's has enough subtlety to standout without smashing the competition. That is something I admire because I prefer options within harmony, Competition amongst competitors to improve one's self. Even though an address is provided, Grumpy's is located on Highland Ave., just north of the westbound part of Eau Gallie Blvd. within the EGAD. If it helps, it is right across the street from the EGAD Civic Center. First and foremost, the building Grumpy's is located in is an iconic landmard within the EGAD. Grumpy's shares the building with other businesses in which they occupy the southernmost business space, which is quite small with a small indoor eating area and a small outdoor patio with each table having individual umbrellas for shade or rain cover. It fits as Grumpy's is said in two phrases: "simple and trendy" and "cozy." The workers and owner are friendly and hospitable, and they assisted me in deciding on what to eat, which they have given each of their biscuits/sandwiches/etc. a female name. I chose "Lisa," a breakfast biscuit consisting of bacon, over easy egg, smoked gouda, mixed greens, and housemade balsamic glaze. Couple of notes about this amazing biscuit, the bacon were thick cut and candied. Truly amazing. And the balsamic glaze. Whatever their recipe is, it is amazing. I could definitely have that on many a meal. Yes, I know exactly how I wrote that! As for the coffee, I got an iced coffee which is premade and ready-to-serve. They use half-and-half and stevia in the raw. Ergo, the coffee was what I wanted. Finally, the restroom. Take note the "water closet" is outside in the hallway. Since the restaurant is small, it is a single-server. Fortunately, it was stocked and clean. There was also an "ambiance" of class, which is nice given the fact the restaurant is... well... small... and the restroom is probably shared with the other businesses, too. Ultimately, Grumpy's was an amazing initial visit and I look forward to visiting them again. Since this is the first and only time (so far) I have been here, I will give them four out of five stars. After a couple more visits, if they stay consistent, I will add their fifth star for consistency. read more

I heard about this place and decided I'd try it. At first I was taken back by the $16.05 for a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit with a small ice tea. Now to be fair it was a to-go order so when I got to work it wasn't as fresh maybe as it should. Biscuit was good sized and tasty, a bit dry, sausage was very tasty and egg was half an omelette....not sure if there was cheese on it, maybe in the egg omelette and I just didn't see it or taste it. I would try it again, next time maybe add butter to the biscuit, a little less egg and cheese that is melted somewhere on it. read more

Quiet and cozy, the food is the star of the show! I had the Mikey (bacon egg and cheese on a biscuit) and some coffee. A simple breakfast was elevated by the house made biscuit and friendly staff. I was greeted kindly and after a quick glance at the menu, ordered and had my coffee by the time I was done with my payment! I barely had time to get settled in and my biscuit came out, topped with what I consider to be the best bacon I've had since...possibly ever. Sweet, smoky, salty. The perfect addition to a breakfast sandwich, elevating it to a new level! The server was very attentive, the fellow guests were lively and welcoming. First of all I need to start off with saying Biscuits are not my favorite or a go to of mine. But let me tell you - Grumpy's has made me a biscuit lover. I have two favorites. The Mikey is my go to with an extremely large portion of eggs with the cheese baked right into it and then topped with the yummiest candied bacon. Secondly, the BLT is delicious with that same yummy bacon. The shop itself is quaint and homey with casual outdoor seat (and a few tables inside). Haley at the counter is so personable. My son-in-law and I decided to try something different for breakfast so we went to Grumpy's this morning. Seems like it is mostly a to-go place as seating inside is limited to only 3 tables sitting only 8 people. There are a few more tables outside on the patio maybe sitting another 12. You order at the counter and it is brought to you. Gal behind the counter was pleasant and efficient and it only took maybe 10 minutes to get our food, all served in Styrofoam to-go containers with plastic silverware, even if you are eating there! I ordered the biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon and my son-in-law ordered an egg and ham breakfast roll. He said the sandwich was "okay" but the fact that the roll had jam on it surprised him a bit. The bacon had a funny taste, and I asked the gal what was up with it and she said the owner likes to put his own unique twist on things and that the bacon has his "special" glaze on it. The biscuits and gravy also has his "special" twist and quite frankly I didn't care for it at all. Unlike any biscuits and gravy I have ever eaten, and biscuits and gravy are a favorite of mine. So ... I give the food a C-. Maybe if I was into "different" twists on traditional foods I would have liked it better...but I didn't. Will I return? Probably not. Just not to my liking. We had the best breakfast at Grumpy's this morning. We both can't stop talking about the bacon. Perfectly thick and crispy but not burnt. The Mr. Ernest was the perfect mix of salty and sweet. The egg was fluffy and the biscuit was perfect. My husband loved the biscuits and gravy, he said it had lots of flavor and was the perfect portion. Strawberry lemonade was delicious. Dine in | Brunch | $30-50 The service is a bunch of snotty, sarcastic, argumentative people. We ordered 2 egg breakfast biscuits. One with cheddar cheese and Ordered the other one egg biscuit with substituted pepperjack cheese instead of the cheddar and also ordered well done bacon on it. When we got the 2 egg breakfast biscuit sandwiches clearly you could see the cheddar cheese on the one biscuit sandwich and that there was absolutely none on the other. I told them there was no cheese and the girl argued and said I ordered no cheese. That was the beginning of the argument from the girl and she just kept getting more rude. Then she finally checks the computer and says OK you ordered peperjack but its on there. AGAIN, NO it is not. Then another girl comes out to tell me its on there. Again NO its not. Then they argue and say the pepperjack cheese is in with the eggs, however the other egg biscuit sandwich had the cheddar cheese ON the top and bottom biscuit and we could clearly see that it was not cooked in the egg. This went on and on with them arguing and saying mine was somehow cooked in the eggs. NO it was not in the eggs. We finally ask if we can just have some to put on the sandwich biscuit. The girl comes over with a medium cup of cheese, slams it down and says, 'here's some cheese for your sandwich that already has cheese'. And now for the well done bacon....I ordered it for MY sandwich, however the other person did not order it well done but theirs was extremely well done. We didn't even mention it because we were tired of arguing with people that we spent money to just sit down and have a nice brunch. Next, the ice tea came in a cheap stainless steel cup and it left a terrible metallic taste in your mouth. We couldn't mention it because the people were so rude and just didn't want to argue more. A couple sitting next to us, got up to leave and stopped to tell us that they heard the entire event and said that the 2 girls were extremely rude. They Then told us that it was their first time there but they were never coming back. Next, the owner comes out (3rd person) to argue and tell us how wrong we are. He started out acting concerned but then the more we told him, the more he ended up arguing. The guy's lip and one side of his nose ended up snarling up in anger and his entire body tensed up. He said he won't have anyone disrespecting his employee. However, if anyone was disrespected it was us! I have never been to a restaurant that felt that no matter what, the customer is wrong and absolutely they want to argue and not at least try a simple remedy of giving the cheese that you ordered in the first place. Now let's talk about how HOT it was inside. Seemed like the air conditioner wasn't working. We won't be back! If you decide to go to this place, I just hope your order is correct because they absolutely will NOT fix it and only argue with you and ruin your entire meal and time. read more

This place was wonderful! A veritable hidden gem! I was in town for just 3 1/2 days. I ate at Grumpy's' twice. The biscuits were mouthwatering, the bacon, thick and crispy, and there's a nice little outside dining area. They had a lemonade mimosa never heard of that before. We LOVED Grumpy's! We got the Melissa and the Marsha. The sausage patty on the Melissa was so tasty. The biscuits had a great flavor and a nice crust on the outside. We normally don't enjoy breakfast sandwiches with egg, but this one was so good! You can tell everything is homemade. The only thing is we wished we would have requested the specialty jam on both sandwiches. The atmosphere is quaint and cozy. The staff were very friendly. We'll for sure be back!! read more

Not very good at all and I got 1 Melissa and a Diet Coke in a can for $16 which is a lot to not be good. Didn't eat the other half. No flavor on the food at all. I would at least eat the egg but it's like I'm eating egg with no salt or nothing. It's bad. read more
