The name "Grumpy" must be a nickname of irony because he is one of the most personable and patient people I have ever met. Beth, the woman who handles the front desk, is equally as sweet and personable. This isn't your average mechanic shop, it is so much more. Being young, novice (but eager) mechanics, we opted to have Grumpy help us with electronic rats nest we had inherited on our '87 Rebel. We told him that we would follow at his direction, and that's exactly how our Saturday unfolded. Under his watchful eye, my husband and I learned how to disassemble our bike and fix/reorganize the wiring. He not only helped us pinpoint the issues we were having, but he also helped us to understand why those issues were happening. We worked side by side with Grumpy in his tidy workplace, using his tools and singing along to classic rock songs on the radio. He was exceptionally patient with us and made light of our mistakes (like having to take off the fender a second time because we missed while he a step... Whoops!) He taught us small tricks on how to improve our mechanical skills, things he has learned in his 50 years of fixing bikes and small engines. It was fun! The price was very fair as well, especially considering all we had learned in the afternoon. I didn't ask why he is called Grumpy, but I definitely will when we return in the next few months to learn how to clean the carbonator and install a new back tire. Thank you, Grumpy and Beth! I am new to Vegas. In L.A. I had MY GUY.. never had to worry just a phone call away... Got to Vegas and found lots of places wont even work on my bike... '86 Soft Tail. Yelped and called several places, had actually FOUND a place, but could not get bike in for two weeks. Grumpy returned a message i left (he was out of town) and was able to get me in immediately. Now Keep in mind, Grumpy's is a bit different then most places. You have the option to work on your own bike (with his tools and help) or he will repair for you. BUT you have to order your own parts.. He and Beth are GREAT at helping you find the parts, but you have to take care of getting them to shop. THAT BEING SAID... Grumpy is really anything but!;) Very friendly and helpful. Took care of my bike in an expedient manner. When i went to pick up had one of those Murphy's Law situations and had to leave the bike again. NO questions or costs one day later had bike back... HE DROVE IT TO ME so i would not have to Uber back to his shop again! Now here we are a week later.. I ran over a screw!?!?!?! and some other work and we are going back again. My Harley was having some electrical problems and I needed a mechanic so I started browsing and discovered grumpys however I was hesitant because of some bad reviews I had read any ways I discovered that it has a new owner or owners I should say well I took my bike in and met Dillon and let me tell you right off the bat I knew this kid was smart very intelligent they made me feel at home Dillon is beyond his years in experience and he is so easy to talk to and very charismatic I loved the family vibe I got from Dillon and his team they did an excellent job he could be a little more communicative but hey the guy is busy why bother I knew I could trust him any way thanks for the experience and keep up the good work your shop reminds me of what it was like growing up and working on things in my grandfather's garage also I loved the art your painter threw up very nice gives the place an attitude thanks again guys .. I was brand new to Vegas, literally had just gotten off the road. I researched "motorcycle repair" on Yelp and a few shops came up in my area. Of course I called the one closer & got a homework assignment with a "call me back" after I explained my problem. Second on the list was Grumpy's...& now he's FIRST in my book! I called Grumpy, explained my issue & got a "Well bring it on over!" He diagnosed my bike & had it ready in a time shorter than it took for the parts to arrive. The communication was always A1 & the customer service, atmosphere & just overall experience is second to none. I'd read the reviews before I went to Grumpy's & now I'm truly a believer. You won't get a better experience anywhere...ANYWHERE! One side of caution: There are beautiful bikes that come through his shop & some are for sale. LOL! I went to Grumpy's in order to install the passing/auxiliary lights on my 2017 Street Glide. I wanted to do the work myself but wanted someone to be available if I needed help. Grumpy was the best. He showed me some "tricks" in order to make the install go easier, and was always right there to answer questions and offer guidance when trying to decipher the instructions that come with the parts. He redid the ape hangers on my son's Wide Glide after another shop totally screwed up the job first. He did an excellent job on that, with a fairly fast turn around time. If your bike is out of the warranty period, STOP PAYING FOR EXPENSIVE SERVICE AT THE DEALERS! I was looking for a place do do some work on my 2014 Softail. Wanted to change out the bars and exhaust. I ran across Grumpy's here on yelp. Saw the good reviews and had to check it out. Everything I read in the reviews was true, and then some. I am so glad I found him. Don't let the name fool you. Grumpy is awesome to deal with. Very fair and upfront about everything. Went there today and couldnt be happier about my experience. Brought in my Victory Kingpin for some maintenance and an oil change. The owner ( grumpy) helped me take care of everything. He was very knowledgable and had an awnser for every question I had. The amount I paid to have everything I needed done was a fraction of what I would have paid at the dealership. Finding an honest mechanic with honest prices is super rare in this town. I cant recommend this place enough if you have a bike. Dont get screwed by the dealerships and give this guy a try. Active Duty Military guy here...fairly new to the LV area...was in the market for a new mechanic and I found Grumpy's on Google. My Ducati Scrambler was in much need for a tune-up (Brakes, Fluids...the works)! Grumpy was able to get me in and out. Recently bought a used 2005 Harley and needed the tires replaced. Found Grumpy's Garage online, and brought my new tires I bought online, and my bike to him, and he swapped them out while showing me how to do it myself for the next time. Beth and Grumpy were friendly, helpful, and did a great job. Grumpy let me pick his brain on questions I had about my new bike. I learned a lot, and having recently lost our Malinois to cancer, I really enjoyed playing with Gracie, their German Shepherd while there! If you want your motorcycle running like a champ, Grumpy's Garage is the place to go. I have a 1992 Kawasaki ZG1000 that was sitting non running for a long time. Grumpy was able to get it going and is very knowledgeable. You can work on your own bike with his tools and knowledge to help you, or have him work on it. I have never done much work on a motorcycle myself. When my fork seals started leaking on my Vulcan 900 Custom, I shopped around for a place to get the work done. Grumpy's was half the price of most shops. Yes I did a lot of the work myself, but Grumpy was there with the tools and extra knowledge I needed to get it done right. I had a great time working with Grumpy, saved some cash, and learned a thing or two about my bike all at the same time. The bike rides great now with the front suspension working as it should. Grumpy's Garage has to be one of the best motorcycle repair shops that I've been to. I took my 1998 Ninja ZX750R to him to get it running after sitting 4-5 years. Grumpy definitely knows motorcycles. He rebuilt the carburetors, cleaned, and made sure it was road worthy. He gave me some advice on what else my motorcycle needed and where to buy the parts from. Got on the books with Grumpy to work on my 2006 Suzuki Boulevard. Needed new brakes, as well as tires and tubes. This man knows his stuff! He had my bike up on the lift and ready to go by the time I got there, and walked me through every step of the way.
