As I hurried into the gas station, I immediately found signage pointing to the restroom. I opened the door and WOW. The ladies bathroom here is very clean. Hands down, she was the star of the show or maybe I should say...hands-free. I so appreciated the hands-free opener on the bathroom door; it featured a foot pull, so you don't have to worry about getting germs on your hands right after washing. That's a real plus in the midst of a pandemic! One more thing...there is a McDonald's attached to MAPCO Mart. We didn't experience it personally, but another handy feature if you need a bit more fuel than a candy bar! :)

Signs on the doors stating to wear a mask and the retail space was pretty spread out. I did think it was odd there were still roller grill items albeit the items were in a single row on the furthest back roller. The next week, my friend had to change her oil and had the supplies to do so. The owner charged over 35 for not an hour of labor, but HALF AN HOUR OF LABOR, and went $20 over the "estimate." Her oil change totaled $56, not including the oil and filter she bought and brought to them before their transaction even began. A business that thinks it's ethical to overcharge an estimate by $20, top off when a person just wants an oil change, and somehow used 15 miles' worth of gas in her tank to change her oil is a place owned by scam artists. These people take advantage of students and their distant parents. Unless it's an emergency, I will not return to this business that insults the integrity of Sewanee; this place does not represent the university by any means. I'm ashamed of our only auto shop and hope most people can get into town, at Monteagle, where they are certainly more trustworthy--you just can't get any worse than Sewanee Auto.
