1914 is the best bakery! They made us the most perfect wedding cake. From the first inquiry to our tasting appointment, everything was perfect. Their cakes & desserts are some of the best I've ever had. Michael and the whole family are so sweet and helpful! Thank you again 1914 for making our beautiful wedding cake!

1914 Bakery goes above and beyond from the staff to the amazing cakes and desserts we were blown away. The bakery was part of our son's wedding venue and from the first meeting the staff took their time to introduce all their flavors and answer any questions and requests. We added some last minute dessert trays and the staff was so accommodating and helpful. My only regret is I didn't order more! Our guests couldn't stop talking about the taste of the cake and desserts. I highly recommend this bakery for your next event.

We couldn't have picked a better bakery for our wedding!!!! We had a Covid wedding that was pushed a year so we had a lot of time to sort through bakeries trying pasteries, cake, etc. and came across this gem looking for Italian desserts. We got both our cake and dessert table from 1914 bakery and they did not disappoint. The table included chocolate strawberries, various cheesecake, cake pops, tarts, etc --The cannolis are FANTASTIC!! My husband doesn't like lemon and loved every lemon pastry we tried. My biggest Issue with most bakeries is they are too sweet, but 1914 hit every flavor perfectly. We were also able to rent stands from them which really helped with the display set up. They were the most straightforward and easy to deal with vendor of any for our wedding and set everything up smoothly. We got so many compliments on both the set up of the tables and the quality of desserts. We've also started getting birthday cakes from them too, the cannoli cake is top notch!! Also got a chocolate cake since we didn't get to have some at our wedding and that was also excellent. Consistently going above and beyond expectation; I will certainly continue to recommend!!!

All our desserts were amazing. From the day we had our tastings until our wedding day the team at Gruttadauria's were fabulous to work with. The photo features three delectable, bite-sized treats (the other 17 included eclairs): · Pastry: Golden, flaky, crisp pastry that easily crunches while blending well with the filling. · Filling: Fresh, cold, sweetened, light ricotta cheese bursting with subtle hints of spice that's very nice. I also tried their Cannoli with ends dipped in dark chocolate (also epic!) The chocolate was smooth and blended effortlessly with the pastry and filling. WHERE TO FIND THEM You won't find Gruttadauria on Temecula's main street or tucked into the endless wine country surrounding Temecula. Nope. This little bakery is hidden from view. Here's the catch: They don't ship orders or allow storefront visits (they meet you at the car if you are picking up your order). HOW TO GET THEM The next time you are in Temecula, give Gruttadauria a call. Gruttadauria is strictly a phone order, pick up, or cake consult appointment. Phone a day or two earlier if you want something, then pick it up. I called one Saturday morning at the opening, and 1000 pastries were on they're way out the door. ON THE CANNOLI SCALE... 1914 catered dessert for our wedding in Temecula, July 2023. We couldn't have asked for a better experience! From the beginning, Linda and team were responsive and super helpful. Linda walked us through all of their amazing options during our tasting appointment, and guided us in choosing our pastries. I called/emailed them multiple times before the wedding to ask questions and make adjustments... each time, the team at 1914 was professional and gave us what we needed. Day-of delivery was seamless; the desserts were on the tables and in our guests' mouths before we knew it! In addition, when there was a miscommunication and we weren't able to freeze our wedding cake, 1914 worked with our venue to get us a replacement cake within hours. Overall, 10/10 recommend.

We tried 9 different popular cake combos suggested, every single one was light and delicious. It was so hard to choose!!

Had our wedding cake tasting appointment this morning and Linda was so helpful and lovely. We had a lot of cakes to taste and gelato and sorbet and pastries! Everything we tried was fantastic, it was so hard to choose just 3 cake flavors!! Truly appreciated all of Linda's help, experience and knowledge of the wedding industry. She made our hour long appointment so easy and fun and packaged all of our treats that we couldn't finish so that we could bring home with us. Really looking forward to our wedding so we can eat the delicious treats and can see their cute wooden pastry displays that we are renting for our event in action!! I cannot recommend 1914 bakery enough! We used them for my daughter's wedding in October and were beyond satisfied. Linda was extremely helpful during the cake tasting appointment. She helped us figure out how many additional pastries to order without being pushy or trying to sell us more than we needed. Do yourself a favor and add the gelato cart! It was a big hit with our guests. Not only were the cake, pastries and gelato delicious but 1914 went extra mile to ensure a smooth delivery after the wedding venue was changed at the last minute. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!

We came here for a tasting to select a bakery for our wedding. Gruttadaurias exchanged one email with us before failing to confirm the tasting. We finally called to confirm. Based on the positive reviews we had decided to move forward with the tasting even though it was the only one we had to pay for. $5 a slice. We picked 2. Come time to pickup, we waited a while. When the cake came out, it was two of the smallest slivers of cake ever. We opened it up hopeful that it would be great. 2 of the driest slices of cake EVER! The chocolate slice was dry and chalky and tasted like a box of cocoa powder with some crumbles. The Italian cream was just as dry. But by far the worst part was the frosting. It was exactly like eating from a tub of Crisco. It was very greasy and has a slick fat like texture. Yuck! Worst cake ever.

This place used to be called Jodee's Bakery but they changed their name a while ago. It's really tiny inside, just 2 or 3 tables for cake tastings. Ordered our vow renewal cake from them in 2017 and it was divine! I also ordered a strawberry groom's cake to be extra, lol. I'm not a fan of strawberries but the mister is. The cake was moist and the flavor combo was delish! I can't remember exactly what I ordered, but it was chocolate cake with the best ganache filling between the layers. I normally don't like buttercream on cakes, either, but theirs is perfectly done. Not too sweet and very light and fluffy. I didn't feel as guilty eating it as I would have with a regular buttercream frosting. When I went for the cake appt, the owner was really nice. She sat me down and had a few different combos for me to try. There was a little hair in one of them, which was off putting. However, the cakes were all moist and tasty. I don't like dry crumbly cakes---who does?! Last time I went in was about 3 weeks ago. I ordered the same thing for my aunt's birthday. They keep your order on file and you can re-order it every year to get a fresh one on your anniversary. I like that they do that because most bakeries make you a cake to freeze for a year. Ummmm... no thanks! Service was a bit slow because the owner was with a couple doing their cake tasting. Her son was assisting another customer in front of me. I wasn't greeted when I walked in and stood there for about 10 min before her son could help me. Overall, I would return because they make other yummy things like cannolis which I have yet to try! Parking is plentiful in this industrial area.

Linda and the bakery are fabulous. WE ordered a three tier, three layer wedding cake. We also ordered 5 types of pastries ( more if we include two types of Cannoli, tarts, and cheesecakes ), for the dessert bar. Everyone commented on the glamour and taste of the cake and desserts. In addition to taste, Linda helped us beyond my hopes. She was honest and straightforward about suggestions- never pushing us to order more then needed. The style and communication is like being with family. If you are looking for authenticity for your event, you found it!! read more

AMAZING!!!! We hired 1914 Bakery for our wedding desserts and our guests are still raving about them 2 months later! Linda is so sweet and was incredibly easy to work with, especially with the short window of time. We had a mix of desserts from the mini banana cream pies, chiffon tarts, mousse cups, and cheesecake bites and they were all delicious. Several of our guests went back for fourths and also took some home. I would highly recommend Gruttadauria's 1914 Bakery for your wedding or next event - so delicious, easy to work with, and well priced! Can't beat that! read more

I got my wedding cake from here. Everything was very delicious.. I wish I could have them all but I got a lemon cake with blueberries filling, espresso with mocha filling and chocolate with Belgium chocolate filling. I ordered a few more sweet for the wedding and The LEMON tart!!!! I must say it's one of the best lemon tart I've ever had!!!! It's so light and flavorful. It's not too sweet. My husband loves the chocolate tart, cannoli and tiramisu. Linda was nice and helpful. I highly recommend this place!! read more

First off, we cannot express just how incredibly thankful we are for all of the planning, support, and work the staff at 1914 Bakery did to help our wedding be the perfect, beautiful day that it was. Planning a wedding is always stressful, but working with them made what felt like a daunting task, so so smooth. My husband and I got married in Temecula on 10/3/20 and 1914 Bakery was recommended to us by our wedding venue. We could not be happier to have chosen them to make our wedding cake and desserts! Linda and her team were such a pleasure to work with from start to finish - they are super responsive, professional, and really helped us in figuring out how many desserts we needed for our guest count. We had an AMAZING tasting beforehand and everything was so delicious that we had trouble narrowing it down! Very nice when we made the taste testing appointment and they did not disappoint. We also ordered some of their sweets, their cannolis were absolutely wonderful! Never knew this Bakery existed till recently. I ordered the mothers day special I chose the cannoli cake and it came with assorted Italian cookies. First off, I don't live in the area but I was having my wedding in the area. It was somewhat of a last minute wedding so I wasn't able to do a cake tasting so I was putting all my trust in this place for a wonderful tasting cake and they certainly did not disappoint! I got a 3 tier red velvet cake and everyone thought the cake was moist, not too sweet and delicious. This was honestly the best Red Velvet cake I have ever tasted. I can't wait to go back and try other pastries they have when Im back in the area. Thank you again so much! read more

1914 was the preferred vendor for our venue & after reviewing their website & other social media's, decided to go ahead with them. Our tasting expensive was so easy & so yummy! They even pulled out some extra frosting flavors we hadn't originally asked for & ended up finding great combinations we loved. We asked for a very simple cake, which turned out absolutely gorgeous. Our guests raved about the flavors! We chose there: carrot, Italian sweet cream, & a chocolate mocha. Everyone was satisfied with our choices! We can't wait to redeem our voucher next year for our mini cake in honor of our anniversary. This family knows what they're doing! read more

I didn't even actually get to go here. They only do curbside you can't go to the bakery to see what they have available. When I called it wasn't much. It's very disappointing because I was a patron of Gruttadauria's in Rochester and was making my way to Ramona and Temecula is right on the way. I called right after they opened on Wednesday, November 10, 2021. I have been waiting since they closed in Rochester and relocated to get some of their Italian Rainbow cookies, Only to find out that of four employees only one makes cookies and That person was in Washington DC until Tuesday next week. How disappointing. I wanted to patronize my old favorite bakery and they didn't even have any of the pastries I wanted either!! How can they stay in business?? I know it's a pandemic but weren't they prepared for this person being out of town?? how are you going to advertise you have Italian cookies and not have them for a full week???? And being out of pastries?? I hate to give an old favorite bakery of mine a bad review since I haven't even been there but I can't even say it left a bad taste in my mouth I didn't get to taste anything!!! It's probably not the same because I'm pretty sure when they were in Rochester this never would've happened maybe moving to Temecula wasn't a good business decision-they lost my money and any future patronage I would've given them. read more

You need to go out of your way to find this bakery, since they don't have a "store front". That being said, IT'S WELL WORTH THE "TROUBLE"! My wife & I grew up on Long Island and are used to eating the best Italian food and pastries in America. A friend told me about 1914 Bakery and their cannoli. When I called them, the guy on the phone asked me if I was going to serve them the same day. I told him they were for Christmas Eve. He said "Then you're going to need the kit". What that means is that cannoli that are pre stuffed get soft and soggy, so I immediately knew he knew what he was talking about. I ordered a dozen of the minis (that's the only size they sell - great to give 1 to each person). I picked them up the next day. The kit has 12 shells, 3 small cups of mini chocolate chips, crushed pistachio nuts and powered sugar. The filling was already in a piping bag! Being from NY, I'm a bit jaded, but these cannoli are as good as NY cannoli! If I could give them more that 5 stars, I would. I'll be ordering another kit for NYE!!! read more

I had my husband's groom's cake made here for our wedding. I called to see if I could come in and do a cake tasting before I placed my order and they said yes. I drove over an hour and a half from Whittier to try out their flavors only to find out they let you try orange, chocolate, and strawberry. If I knew this I wouldn't have wasted my time or the gas it took to get there. Their cake was good but I wanted to try other flavors to make the cake more unique. I decided to just order from here since I drove all the way down. I got a 2 tiered cake:chocolate with peanut butter filling and strawberry with chocolate filling. I would've loved to order other flavors but I couldn't do that without trying them first, and that wasn't an option. I asked what time it would be delivered to the venue and I was told they don't deliver. Yes I shouldn't have assumed that they would deliver it but since it was part of the wedding I thought delivery would be part of the deal. I was even willing to pay but they said I'd have to pick it up. At that point I was stressed beyond belief because I had to figure out who I could ask to pick it up for me since it was a surprise. Also, no one is from out that way so I had to ask someone to do me a huge favor and leave early enough to pick it up before 11 since that was the latest pick up time and my wedding was at 5. Talk about inconvenient! Anyways things worked out and my sister got it and we had to keep it in the room we got ready in until we could set up the barrel room and the winery. The cake looked really good though. I got it more for decoration than anything. The cake itself wasn't impressive. I'm glad we went elsewhere for our actual wedding cake. We ended up taking his cake home, having a slice or two, and tossing the rest. Maybe it's just the bad taste my experience left in my mouth but I wouldn't patronize this business again. read more

We used 1914 Bakery for our wedding. They made the most delicious cake with different flavors on every level, we also got the cannolis, cream puffs, lemon tarts, and apple pie pastries and we could not have been happier. We highly recommend 1914 Bakery for any event and if you're having a wedding you have to get the extra pastries as well they accented the cake perfectly and were a massive hit for all our guests. I would order a handful more of the side pastries than you think because our guests ate them so fast my wife and I barely had a chance to get any ourselves! The champagne cake was absolutely delicious, and decorated beautifully. The only reason I have given 4 stars instead of 5, is that the balance of flavors was off because the Bavarian cream filling was skimpy and applied unevenly- there were several areas where all you could see and taste was buttercream. Three of my guests said "there was Bavarian cream in there?" This was my first time ordering from this bakery and I would order again- it was a high quality cake with a fantastic flavor profile. If they were just a tad more generous with the filling, this would have been 5 stars all the way. read more

Ok can I just say WOW! I wish I could show you how beautiful my cake was and how great it tasted. We got the almond cake and the lemon raspberry cake. So much flavor also moist and just perfect! It was stunning! Not only that but it tasted amazing! I had people tell me that it was literally the best wedding cake they have ever had. The cake came fresh! They do not pre-make the cake and let it sit there and freeze it for a day or two they make it that day! It shows in their product and it was definitely a crowd pleaser. Might I add that there was barely any cake left. The cake was waxed off and we were lucky to have gotten the first piece. I highly recommend Jodees bakery! We got our wedding cake at Gruttadauria's 1914 Bakery after our first wedding cake vendor dropped out (two weeks before the wedding!). We stumbled across Gruttadauria's and noticed their stellar reviews, and also thought their Italian baked goods sounded so delicious and perfect for our intimate wedding. Linda helped us in a pinch and was so friendly and helpful throughout every step. We ended up going with a vanilla cake with buttercream frosting and raspberry filling -- it was PHENOMENAL! We received so many compliments on the cake, the filling and how different it was than traditional wedding cakes. That said, it also looked BEAUTIFUL. We are so thankful to Gruttadauria's and would highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious baked goods and/or a wedding cake! read more

This family has been baking amazing treats since 1914 as the name says. For generations our family has been ordering their cookies and cakes and through the years the quality has never changed. Moving to Southern California was a huge plus for me as I was having them ship to So. Cal. From Rochester. Many a cookie cake was transported or shipped from NY to CA for weddings. Wow! Our cake for our 10/18/16 wedding turned out BEAUTIFULLY. I highly recommend the coconut (and almond, I think?) flavor, it was a huge hit with our guests and my personal favorite! Malinda was a doll to work with and I'm so so so glad our venue matched us up with her. read more

Jodee's Bakery has the most amazingly delicious cakes EVER! The cake, the filling, and the frosting all have so much flavor and to top it all off the cake is so Moist! We worked with Malinda on the design of our wedding cake and have had so many compliments on how it looked (even from other bakers who attended the wedding!) NO fondant whatsoever and it looks so Perfect!. Jodee's Bakery is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Thank you so much for everything!! Oh and we had the carmalitas, fudgies, and almond raspberry spheres as well. This Bakery was recommended by our Venue, Menifee Lakes by Wedgewood and I am so happy that they did! The cake was not only delicious (we were so busy we didn't get a whole slice, just a bite and it was AMAZING) but it was beautiful as well. We had just over 100 guests and one of the things that they could not stop talking about was how good the cake tasted. We had three different flavors. We didn't get a chance to see them set up but once we finally saw the final result we were in awe. They were very accommodating, polite while at the same time humorous. They really wanted this process to be a joyful time and it really was. We look forward to next year where we get to a One Year Anniversary cake! read more

My wife's family went to the original in Rochester, New York. We were told by one of her cousins that the bakery had moved out to Temecula, and decided to stop by on a trip through the area. While the location is a bit hard to find, it's well worth the effort. This is a very traditional, East Coast Italian bakery, and their selection is excellent (although I am told it's a fraction of what their original Rochester location offered). We were assured that they will add more of the old favorites to their offerings as they continue to settle in to the new location, but I was pretty impressed with what they had already. The quality here is impeccable, and I highly recommend this place as both a nod to tradition, and as an all around excellent bakery. read more

We used Jodee's Bakery for our wedding and loved it! We went in for or tasting and chose their strawberry and their orange for our wedding cake. Everything was pain-free and very quick. Malinda was able to create the cake that really matched with the rest of our "theme" and still kept it simple, even with us making our descriptions very confusing. The cake was delicious! Gruttadauria's 1914 Bakery was really great to work with. The staff were friendly and accommodating when we were designing our wedding cake. We had a dessert bar, and bought pastries and desserts from there, which were delicious and our guests all enjoyed and devoured them including the cake! Happy with their services. read more

My husband and I used 1914 for our wedding cake. It was perfect! Working with the team at 1914 was very easy. They are responsive to emails and made sure everything was in place for the event. We got married on 9/1/19 in Temecula. The team delivered the cake as planned, placed the topper, and made sure the cake was good to go! They have so many flavors (we opted for an orange with mango filling for the bottom tier, and chocolate with salted caramel filling for the top 2). All of the cake was eaten!!! We were at a Venue where they served the most authentic Italian pastries we have ever had , that were supplied by Gruttadauria 1914 Bakery. What can I tell you... absolutely incredible!! And their gelato...OMG if you haven't tried the incredible deserts & Gelato that this bakery makes you are definitely missing out!! Authentic Italian pastries and desserts and did I mention the best tasting PINA COLADA gelato we have ever had?? Trust me you will not be disappointed!! We asked for seconds!! They stepped in quickly and created a replacement cake that looked identical to what the couple originally ordered. Not only was it visually perfect, but it was also delicious. The entire process was seamless and handled with such care. The most incredible part? The bride had no idea anything had gone wrong until after the wedding. Everything felt flawless, and that is exactly what you hope for as a planner. In all my years in the industry, I have never experienced customer service like this. I first started out by reaching out to the owner Debbie through email to see if she could help…read morecreate what I was looking for. She was extremely kind and responsive! She was always very accommodating to my fiancé and I since we didn't live in California at the time that we were planning our wedding. We would be in California for only a few dates and could only make it out to Temecula at certain times and Debbie was still able to help us plan it all and provide a cake tasting for us. That tasting was phenomenal and sold us right away! Paying for the creation of cakes was pretty easy! They don't send out reminders if you split out the payments (I did it in two payments) so make sure to pay attention to the dates. The only downside in all of this was trying to reach out to Debbie right before our wedding (to ensure the second payment went through to her and to ensure our cake would be ready and arriving at our venue). When I did get ahold of her, she did not remember me or my order, but assured me it was in her calendar. Luckily, my wedding day of organizer was able to coordinate with her ahead of time and I did not know of this until my rehearsal day. So all in all it worked out and everything was assured! Our cake turned out perfect! Exactly what Debbie and I had spoken about almost a year before. We couldn't have been happier with the moist cake and yummy soft filling and frosting. It was SO good! Can't go wrong with these beautiful and delicious cakes!

We booked a tasting, and I can confidently say that it was too hard to choose because everything is so delicious. Their homemade buttercream is to die for. Cathy walked us through the process of selecting the cake flavors and fillings and even gave us time alone so we weren't pressured to have certain reactions. Once we filled out our forms, she asked about general design questions and anything else she may need to know before we wrapped things up. On the day of, everything went so smoothly and the cake was beautiful and delicious. I realized I didn't have a picture of the cakes without it faces in them, so I don't have a picture to share. It was already perfectly set up so we didn't have to worry about anything. We also remembered Cathy telling us that she has a deal where you can ask for your cake to be remade on the one year wedding anniversary. We called about two weeks in advance and she said she would happily make one of them for a discounted price. We picked it up and Cathy was busy as ever but still made time to talk with us and congratulate us on one year. We took our cake home and it was beautiful. Even better, the cake was so delicious and brought back some memories of the day. Nothing can beat her skills at baking, designing, and communicating. If I could ask BoCakes to make all my cakes for other big celebrations, I most certainly would!

The place itself is super cute, tucked in a little corner of old town and looks as if a big sparkle poof of pink was pressed inside the business. It's seriously adorable. The staff was just as pleasant as they had been via text and my drink (coconut matcha) was seriously to die for. Already waiting to book my next trip there, definitely a treat yourself kind of place!

I had a custom birthday cake made on short notice and it was AMAZING! I was flying from Virginia to California to celebrate my lady's birthday and didn't want the standard cookie-cutter, grocery store cake but rather an elegant, professionally crafted, artisan cake. Jodee's prefer 7-10 days notice on any party cake but after I spoke with them on the phone and placed the order, they had only 3 days to work with. They made a 6" round, three layer white cake with Boston crème and fresh sliced strawberries between the layers and a chocolate ganache frosting adorned with elegant scrolls and lettering. The cake looked so beautiful that I almost didn't want to cut it when the time came but hey, a cake is made to eat right?! It was absolutely delicious! The cake was moist, the strawberries were fresh, the crème filling and the ganache were both outstanding. I tip my hat to the staff at Jodee's, they were professional, courteous, and came through for me on short notice. In addition, when I picked up the cake, I was greeted with smiles from the four ladies that were there that morning and they each remembered I was coming in from the east coast to pick up one of their cakes for my birthday girl and that was nice touch as it made a business transaction feel personal!!
