Minnie and I both ordered the whole catfish with mashed potatoes and fried green tomatoes. We absolutely demolished our plates. Special thanks to G's for an amazing meal! We arrived at 6:35 PM with a 7:00 PM closing time, and wanting to be respectful, we asked for the catfish plates to go so no one felt rushed. Instead, he graciously invited us to take our time and enjoy the meal in a relaxed setting. I have been looking for some good southern soul food and G's did not disappoint. I ordered the chicken wings with a few sides. The chicken was fried to perfection and the sides were fresh and flavorful. My only complaint was the Mac and cheese it wasn't giving baked Mac and cheese but everything else was nice. I was told to get the Obama Juice which was good. I normally don't do those bright colored drinks but it wasn't bad, not too sweet and I didn't feel gross afterwards. This is one of the worst experience in visiting a so-called home style country kitchen restaurant. Visiting there I waited and waited for someone to take my order at the counter. I was coming to dine in. I was told to sit at a table in a section of the dining area where I sat and waited for over 30 minutes before deciding to leave. During that 30 minutes, no one ever came to the table to take my food order due to employees or staff being preoccupied with their phone. Their focus was taking phone orders and not taking food order from dine-in customers. I assume they forgot I was sitting in the dining area, but as I was walking towards the door, one of the restaurant workers quickly acknowledged me leaving after sitting at a table in the dining area for over a half hour asked if I was coming back, which I politely said no. The place was operating very inefficiently. This was my first and it will be my last time visiting this place. I have never been to a restaurant where the experience I had is worth returning. If you decide to visit, please go with caution. I could not leave a "No Star" rating as this review do not have this option, otherwise I would. read more

I took my friend here cuz she wanted country food. I'm sorry but it's a nope! She got veggie plate and it was so salty she couldn't eat it. I got the pork chop sandwich and the bread was soggy and limp and moldy the lettuce was clear and tomatoes were rotten. I'm super pleased to announce that we did, in fact, miss something. Our lunch today was excellent! My mom and I were waited on by a super friendly and fast lady. Everyone working there was obviously hustling in the super busy restaurant, but they were all super pleasant and stayed smiling the whole time. I had the fried chicken breast and leg with macaroni and cheese, yams, and a roll. The sweet tea to drink was delightfully sweet and refreshing. The fried chicken was succulent, crispy, and cooked perfectly. The macaroni and cheese was a little on the soft side, but it was super creamy and cheesy. And the yams! So sweet, soft, and buttery. Even the roll was really good. My mom got the special of the day. It was a TON of food for the price. Country fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, cabbage, and macaroni and cheese. She remarked that the country fried steak was absolutely amazing; it tasted just as good as if it had been made at home (but no mess or cleanup!) The only thing we didn't love was the cabbage.
