We had a horrible experience at this restaurant . All 3 of our glasses looked like this and had a film floating on it.

We had the worst experience here. My mother's food was horrible. The Alfredo was greasy and didn't have sauce like it had been reheated. They sprinkled cheese on top. All three of our drink glasses were disgusting . Do not come here. I'm pregnant and if I get sick I will be very upset .

I really hate giving bad ratings but WHEW. This place is struggling. Upon entering we waited about 2 minutes before a worker noticed us there and came to seat us. The restaurant was not full whatsoever which makes sense because we came for Friday lunch. However, when I sat service was SLOW? Wow. Took about 7 mins for them to come and take our drink order and about 5 mins to actually get drinks. I normally wouldn't find this a problem, but the sever for our table was so unfriendly. He rolled his eyes when we asked questions about the menu and made us feel like we were wasting HIS time. Appetizers took quite a while to come out (Wisconsin cheese bites) and they were not fresh. No satisfying cheese-pull because they just weren't hot. Also took quite a while for the main entrees to come and the flavors were nothing to write home about. But you know what DIDN'T take long to come?? The CHECK. He brought our check literally RIGHT AFTER we started eating, unprompted. Who does that?? This made us feel like he was rushing us even though we had been there for over an hour and just got our meals. He even demonstrated how to pay using the little machine on the table...while we are still eating and chatting so we had to pause our conversations to listen to his rushed presentation... Then of course once we paid and were ready to go...no to-go boxes were brought so we had to flag him down to ask for some. Just NOT a pleasant experience. Will not return.

Our waiter Javarious was so exceptional. He didn't even write our order down, he memorized all of it, he even took the table order near us, again without writing it down. He had at least eight tables, sat down at the same time, and he took care of all of us without missing a thing.Give him a raise. Don't let him go. I ordered the herb chicken and it was really good. The place was very clean. we will definitely go back.

Great customer service and I greatly appreciate their accountability/ willingness to make up for our previous visit. Last night we started with the crab croquettes, STELLAR. Absolutely loved and devoured these. The crunch on the croquette was to die for, topped with a refreshing crab salad, perfect. For my entree, I had the lamb rack with house potatoes & broccolini. My boyfriend had the blackened catfish with the grits. Both dishes were phenomenal . To finish up we tried their new chocolate strawberry bread pudding, so rich and delicious. This restaurant is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots in Northern Alabama. Go give them a try! We'll 100% be back.

This seemed to want to be a foodie destination. The half fried chicken included a small drumstick, small wing, piece of breast, and another piece that was unidentifiable but might have been a thigh. It had a spicy sweet sauce covering, which we opted to have on the side. That was a good choice because the hint of Cayenne was still too much for one diner. We asked about the slaw -- whether it was had a cream or vinegar dressing. The server described it as a "creamy vinegar." It made no difference because the dressing was so understated that the side tasted more like chopped cabbage than anything else. Disappointing. Finally, I asked the server whether the grilled green beans were actually that. I was more curious than anything else because grilled green beans would be would take longer to cook. She said yes, they were grilled. I don't think so. They came out fairly quickly and were pretty universally blackened on one side. Once our food was delivered, we never saw our server again until I asked her for the check. So, what I believe was intended to be an elevated dining experience was simply under executed.

This was Southern hospitality at its finest, wrapped in incredible food and genuine warmth from the moment our Forest Service and Alabama A&M team walked through the door. The owner and staff were extremely kind, welcoming, and hospitable to our group, treating us less like customers and more like honored guests. The owner personally sat with our team, walking us through the menu item by item, sharing stories, and offering recommendations on his favorite dishes. That personal touch set the tone for the whole lunch and made the meal feel both special and deeply personal. The food itself was soul-satisfying in every way. The fried chicken was perfectly seasoned with a crispy exterior and juicy interior, the kind of dish that makes you pause after the first bite. The catfish was especially delicious as well, tender, flavorful, and cooked just right, embodying everything you hope for in classic country cooking. And the banana pudding was a standout, instantly transporting me to memories of dining in Savannah, with that rich, comforting, homemade taste you feel in your soul. From start to finish, everything about our visit to G's Country Kitchen was outstanding...the hospitality, the conversation, the food, and the feeling of being truly cared for. Many thanks to the owner and the entire staff for a great experience and a lunch that our Forest Service and Alabama A&M team will not soon forget.

We had the pulled chicken sandwich, noting the portion options (5 oz small and 8 oz large). The small was very generous and more than satisfying. We paired it with a side of onion rings, which were cooked perfectly. The white sauce was excellent, and the vinegar-based BBQ sauces were thin and authentic classic Alabama-style BBQ. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich basket with a side salad, and it was excellent. The pork was served hot (not just warm), clean, not fatty, and very moist. The lightly toasted bun added great texture and pulled everything together. The kids had chicken tenders and fries, and everything came out fresh, hot, and delicious. The staff really stood out, friendly, welcoming, and happy to explain the food and sauces. You can tell they care about both their food and their customers. Instead, we've leaned into doing the holiday a little differently--going out, slowing down, and letting someone else do the cooking. This year, we chose Commerce Kitchen for their Thanksgiving 2025 prix fixe menu, and I'm so glad we did. I'll be honest--I almost didn't get a reservation. Thanksgiving books up quickly, and it was looking like we had missed our window. Thankfully, after signing up for alerts on Resy, I managed to snag a last-minute opening, and it ended up being one of those "meant to be" meals. From the moment we sat down, service was prompt, efficient, and warm without feeling rushed--exactly what you want on a holiday. The pacing of the meal felt thoughtful, and every course arrived beautifully plated. For appetizers, my mom ordered the ravioli, which was absolutely delicious. The brown butter sauce was rich and comforting, making it the perfect fall dish without being overwhelming. I chose the pear and prosciutto salad, and it was divine. The crispy prosciutto paired beautifully with the peppery arugula and sweet pear--it was balanced, fresh, and full of texture. For my entrée, I ordered the prime rib, and it's something I would happily order again and again. It was cooked perfectly, tender, and full of flavor--easily the standout of the meal. The only small critiques I'd note were that the stuffing was a bit heavy-handed on the salt, and the green beans leaned heavily into garlic. That said, as a garlic lover, I thoroughly enjoyed them--so that one may come down to personal preference. Dessert was where we fully committed and tried it all. My mom chose the chocolate flourless torte, rich and decadent in the best way. I went with the spice cheesecake, which felt warm and seasonal without being too sweet. My sister ordered the bourbon pecan pie, and it was everything you'd want from a Thanksgiving dessert--comforting, indulgent, and perfectly finished. All in all, if you're someone who doesn't love cooking on Thanksgiving--or if you celebrate in a more nontraditional way, whether that's with a small family, a few loved ones, or even on your own--Commerce Kitchen is somewhere I would hands-down recommend. It felt intentional, welcoming, and special without being overdone, which is exactly how a Thanksgiving meal out should feel.
