I really hate giving bad ratings but WHEW. This place is struggling. Upon entering we waited about 2 minutes before a worker noticed us there and came to seat us. The restaurant was not full whatsoever which makes sense because we came for Friday lunch. However, when I sat service was SLOW? Wow. Took about 7 mins for them to come and take our drink order and about 5 mins to actually get drinks. I normally wouldn't find this a problem, but the sever for our table was so unfriendly. He rolled his eyes when we asked questions about the menu and made us feel like we were wasting HIS time. Appetizers took quite a while to come out (Wisconsin cheese bites) and they were not fresh. No satisfying cheese-pull because they just weren't hot. Also took quite a while for the main entrees to come and the flavors were nothing to write home about. But you know what DIDN'T take long to come?? The CHECK. He brought our check literally RIGHT AFTER we started eating, unprompted. Who does that?? This made us feel like he was rushing us even though we had been there for over an hour and just got our meals. He even demonstrated how to pay using the little machine on the table...while we are still eating and chatting so we had to pause our conversations to listen to his rushed presentation... Then of course once we paid and were ready to go...no to-go boxes were brought so we had to flag him down to ask for some. Just NOT a pleasant experience. Will not return.

We had a horrible experience at this restaurant . All 3 of our glasses looked like this and had a film floating on it.

We had the worst experience here. My mother's food was horrible. The Alfredo was greasy and didn't have sauce like it had been reheated. They sprinkled cheese on top. All three of our drink glasses were disgusting . Do not come here. I'm pregnant and if I get sick I will be very upset .

Food is mediocre, atmosphere is too. The restaurant has gone even further down since the last MP left. Servers were great.

The star of the meal was the fried green tomatoes. They were thick, juicy, perfectly fried, and honestly didn't need any dipping sauce or condiment at all. They're some of the best I've had. Minnie and I both ordered the whole catfish with mashed potatoes and fried green tomatoes. We absolutely demolished our plates. The catfish was delicious, and the mashed potatoes tasted genuinely homemade. The brown gravy was rich and flavorful and paired perfectly with them. My mom ordered the 4-vegetable plate with fried green tomatoes, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and fried okra. She loved everything on her plate. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the restaurant was busy the entire time we were there. There was a steady stream of both dine-in customers and takeout orders, which tells you a lot about the place's reputation. My only complaint is the wait time. Food takes a while to come out, especially if you're ordering fried items, but they do warn you ahead of time. The quality makes it clear they're cooking to order, so if you decide to visit, just be prepared to be patient. If someone asked me where to take an out-of-town guest for authentic Southern cooking, G's Country Kitchen would be at the top of my list. The food is homemade, comforting, and exactly what people imagine when they think of classic Southern cuisine. Overall, the food was fantastic, the service was welcoming, and it's easy to see why G's Country Kitchen is a go-to spot for homestyle country cooking. We'll definitely be back.

This was Southern hospitality at its finest, wrapped in incredible food and genuine warmth from the moment our Forest Service and Alabama A&M team walked through the door. The owner and staff were extremely kind, welcoming, and hospitable to our group, treating us less like customers and more like honored guests. The owner personally sat with our team, walking us through the menu item by item, sharing stories, and offering recommendations on his favorite dishes. That personal touch set the tone for the whole lunch and made the meal feel both special and deeply personal. The food itself was soul-satisfying in every way. The fried chicken was perfectly seasoned with a crispy exterior and juicy interior, the kind of dish that makes you pause after the first bite. The catfish was especially delicious as well, tender, flavorful, and cooked just right, embodying everything you hope for in classic country cooking. And the banana pudding was a standout, instantly transporting me to memories of dining in Savannah, with that rich, comforting, homemade taste you feel in your soul. From start to finish, everything about our visit to G's Country Kitchen was outstanding...the hospitality, the conversation, the food, and the feeling of being truly cared for. Many thanks to the owner and the entire staff for a great experience and a lunch that our Forest Service and Alabama A&M team will not soon forget.

Sweet Hubs got another to go order from here a week or so ago. The order was someone else's order…read more Hubs is generally non picky and he enjoyed the meals received. I was surprised he liked hot sauce on his eggs, for example, and he said he did, which is great because one dish came with extra hot sauce. I reheated the grits the following day and they were actually good! That was the highlight of this take out meal for me. I thought the gravy in one of the dishes was sausage gravy, because doesn't everyone in the south add sausage to their gravy? But, it was just plain gravy. Boo! The eggs were pretty dead looking the next day (not their fault, I know), so I didn't try any of them. The bacon was undercooked for my preference but could have been easily remedied by popping in the air fryer. That was more effort than I wanted to expend on salvaging these dishes. Hubs is a biscuit fan and he was happy to devour whatever I did not, and again, he had no complaints which is excellent! I am not a biscuit fan at all, I just can't make myself like biscuit-forward dishes. I'm not even a fan of potatoes, which were in several of the dishes. They appeared to be prepared well, just did not appeal to me.

Having also recently dined at Big Bad…read moreBreakfast, I'd say this place edges it out for me, though the experience was still more or less just okay. There's ample parking and the restaurant was clean, airy, and open. You order at the counter here. While their focus is biscuits, they have other offerings like waffles, hash bowls, and even tacos. The service was very friendly though my food was a little slow to come out. In their defense, I think some folks from the corporate office were there assessing the place and they ordered almost everything lol. I had the hash bowl with scrambled eggs and cheddar cheese. I enjoyed the array of different goodies inside the bowl and the ingredients were balanced -- not too much of any particular item. The mushrooms were a little slimy and the eggs were a little hard for my preference but the potatoes were crispy and the chopped bacon was perfect. Oddly, despite the somewhat long wait for my food, the whole dish wasn't as hot as I'd have liked for it to be. It wasn't cold, just not piping. Overall, I had a pleasant time. I wouldn't necessarily make a special trip just to come here, but it's a decent choice for quick service breakfast/lunch/brunch in the area.

She immediately gave us a senior discount. I see why the seniors were there. Breakfast for 2 is 10-12 dollars cheaper here. I ordered a ham, cheese, mushroom and onion omelette. It came with hash browns and toast. My omelette was way overcooked and didn't taste very good. The hash browns were very similar to the instant hash browns that are hydrated and then cooked. The grease or oil used had an off putting taste. 3/5 Dave had scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuit and gravy. He said his food was ok. The gravy was white sauce and bland. He said the other breakfasts he had recently were much better tasting. 3/5 We will stop by and try other foods. This restaurant has been around since the early 90's and is close to homes and apartments. Many seniors live in the apartments close by and they eat at Rolo's at least 4 days a week. That's what the table of 8 seniors said. They were having fun and I couldn't help to hear what they were talking about. Something about paying rent at Rolo's.

The girl who took our order was incredibly friendly, and the service was quick from the moment we walked in. I ordered Dad's Egg Sandwich, and Mom got the Vegetable Frittata. The bacon on my sandwich was the standout--nice, thick, and perfectly cooked. My only complaint is that the menu mentioned garlic, but I honestly couldn't taste any. If you're going to promise garlic, I want to taste garlic! Mom really enjoyed her frittata, although I think she's getting a little tired of egg dishes lately. She especially loved the toast and whatever butter they served with it. It almost tasted like maple butter, and it was delicious. The fresh fruit was also excellent (I happily finished Mom's!). My only real complaint is the size of the restaurant. It's a cozy space, but I can see it getting crowded very quickly during the breakfast rush. Overall, everything was wonderful. It was very crowded outside and inside. We walked inside and there were 2 vacant tables. I stood by a table while we waited to place a takeout order. It was a long 8 minute wait. I looked around and was surprised at how many people were enjoying mimosa's and other drinks. I didn't see any dirty martini's. I ordered the biscuit and sausage gravy. The biscuit has noticeable bacon bits and cheddar. The sausage gravy had bits of sausage and I could definitely taste cream. In my humble opinion I prefer a biscuit without added bacon and cheddar. I prefer milk or half and half versus cream in my gravy. Others may disagree and that's ok. All of us do not have the same palate. 4/5 Dave ordered Dad's Egg Sandwich. The sandwich was ok. I make egg sandwiches multiple times a week for Dave. I suppose I expected more than the sandwich delivered. 4/5 The visit was marred by the near 28 minute wait for our food. The kitchen cooked our food and a bag sat on the counter for a while. It was the same location delivery drivers were picking up food. After several orders were delivered for people that came in after us, I sent Dave to inquire about our food. The bag was our order and was sitting on the counter...getting cold. Dave's name was not called out when the order was ready. We were 5 feet from the counter. I may return again to check out other foods on the menu. I did not discount the review for the late and cold food. If you are into brunch foods and drinks, please visit this locally owned restaurant. 4/5
