They didn't show up for my appointment. Someone called and said he had no information, that he had to look it up, and then he never called never showed so I drove there and sat there for nothing. I called to ask the office what happened, nobody answered so I left a voicemail and nobody called back. What a bummer. The appraiser came and there were no straps. We were selling our house and this company was recommended or contracted by our realtor. They said our house was not in compliance with code for smoke detectors and that the all or some of the smoke detectors needed to be hardwired. I was independent construction contractor before but I was busy during this time so I let this company do the changes since they quoted $350 to do the whole house and it would have saved me a couple hours of work. I also thought they would have been adding electrical boxes and wires because they made it seem like there weren't any there. Anyways long story short our house sale fell through and our agent came to us with the invoice for the smoke alarms which when originally quoted was $350 all of sudden the bill was $583. I of course told my agent no we are not paying that outrageous bill. Today I was sitting in my office and noticed that one of the smoke alarms was hanging slightly slanted. So I got up on a chair to check it I pull the smoke alarm off and find that the contractor put the screw that supports the detector directly into plaster instead of the electrical box. Not only that I find that the box was already there it was not new. And lastly the wire nut holding the wire came right off was not screwed tightly and didn't have tape. So that peaked my interest I went through all of the smoke detectors not one of the smoke alarm boxes were new. Which means that this company just swapped the smoke detectors. There was not any new wiring done and in the downstairs where there wasn't any hardwired smoke detectors in a couple rooms they just used battery operated. These are simple fixes and I think that when companies like this find out that the invoice is being charged to the escrow they just milk the clock because who is going to check their work? read more

Put in a new wired combo smoke detector and CO detector. Didn't wire it properly, took out all the power in half of our condo. Then had to pay $200 to have an electrician come who spent 2 mins twisting two wires back together and the power immediately came back on. These people are incompetent and will cost you extra time and hassle. read more

GS installed 6 earthquake gas shut off valves at our apartment complex in Anaheim. I called in originally for one and was scheduled the following day for an install. There was some confusion on my part as to the quantity. I was able to speak to the installer, Pete, who was able to accomodate my request, give me a discounted quote and still come out the following day. We spoke about the install and we were on the same page. He came out the following day at 3:00pm and stayed after 6 to complete the job. he also followed up the following day to give the gas pipes a fresh coat of paint. He answered all my questions, was accommodating, completed the work efficiently and professionally. Overall, great job and I would recommend GS for future work. read more

The inspector did a cursory "glance" at my clients toilets and declared they needed to be replaced. Approximate estimate $800! I thought this was odd because I sold this property only 3 years ago and it passed retrofit then. After we checked the toilet water flow was 1.6 gallons I emailed the company and asked if that was not adequate ? The owner "Morris" called me and asked for pictures of the 1.6 gallon toilets. I had a bad experience with this co. When installing a valve the worker cut my plant down without my permission when he could have easily moved it or asked me to do it. Also, while installing the valve he gouged out a large portion of the stucco without repairing it. When i called the company i was told it would be repaired but weeks later it was not. GS Retrofit did my retrofit work after buying 6 months ago (gas shutoff valves, water tank bracing, etc). I was having trouble with the sensitivity of the shutoff valves due to movement in the house. They came the same day I called to resolve the issue and spent a great deal of time with me explaining the system and helping to light the pilot. Very kind people and good service. read more
