I came on a Saturday afternoon and the food court wasn't as packed so I thought about getting a few different food items to try. This place had nachos and asada fries so I wanted to try them out. I had one of the dishes upgraded into a meal which was a small drink and a side of chips and salsa. The place wasn't busy when I went up, after ordering you get a tip screen which sets percentages already and I just clicked on a set for quick ease. The dishes came in half box containers, lots of food but I did spend $35 so it should feed at least 2 people. The fries were thick cut and actually not crispy, which was confusing but not bad on flavor. Just reminds me of sautéed potatoes. I think the nachos were better, they were still crispy and not the toppings were really good. The salsa is spicy, so I couldn't have any but they gave us jalapeno slices for the dish which was nice. Refills are one drink with receipt proof, so I got that before leaving. read more

Came here starving and this place absolutely delivered. I ordered the 2-taco carne asada combo plate, which came with beans, rice, and chips. The carne asada was super flavorful and satisfying, and everything on the plate tasted fresh and well-seasoned. Honestly, I was so hungry I completely forgot to take a picture of the food itself... We also grabbed a watermelon agua fresca, and it was perfectly refreshing: not too sweet and exactly what I needed alongside the tacos. The server who helped us was really nice and friendly. It seemed like she was in training, but she was attentive, patient, and had a great attitude, which made the experience even better. This spot is located in the food court, but it really stands out. My mom raved about this place so we went and ordered their Loaded naughty nachos - carne asada, Chicken affair tacos and Phoenix tacos - carne asada. The carne asada was seasoned well, topped with lettuce, onions and cotija cheese. The green salsa had a nice kick to it. I also had a few bites of the loaded nachos with guacamole and crema. Mom enjoyed her chicken tacos. Service was fast but friendly. As with the other stalls at the food court, you walk up and place order at the counter. Sister was given a buzzer to let us know when the order is ready for pick up. There are many chairs and tables cafeteria- style, they filled up pretty quickly since it was the weekend. Got their veggie bowl and veggie burrito, and the guy that took our order was incredibly nice and very thorough; he also walked through the ingredients in each to make sure that they fit our diet (we were fine with everything in it, but it was really nice to see). I hadn't been to the West Covina Mall in a long time, probably two years, so this place was new to me in the food court. I was there at opening time on a mid-August Saturday and was actually the first customer of the day. I tried their chicken quesadilla and some Phoenix burrito, which were good and so was their hibiscus lemonade! I would get their food again. read more

Been eating here weekly, my favorite S&M tacos regular Pico instead of the mango. But today I had a chance to try a mole taco. Enjoyed it a little too much. A bit different from my grandma's back in the late 60s but good. A hint of sweetness and tasty. I myself would want it a little spicier but I understand that might not work for the general population. I could have easily added a little of their salsa but I didn't want to interfere with the actual taste trying it for the first time. I wanted to give it the TRUE TASTE TEST ga ha ha. It passed! Great service every time. The guys are great and did a flour chip order couple weeks back, custom order that the wife loved after a year long craving. This place is newly opened at Plaza West Covina's food court, and the storefront caught my attention. The lady at the front is friendly and didn't rush me as I looked through their menu which had a good variety of items. I ended up ordering the Pescatarian Affair (3 Tacos) - $9.50 and Chips & Salsa & Fountain Drink - $3.00. Very fair price for a good amount of food. The food was also delicious, and I found the naming of the food items pretty funny. The only critique I would have is that the food does a little time to make as they make it to-order. I'm confident their team will be able to meet demand as it grows though. Glad that there's another solid food option around! read more

amazing food, great service. my mom and i were stopping by the area for the west covina pride festival. we arrived a bit late so there wasn't a ton of food options. venturing into the mall, we had to stop by the food court for some fixings. luckily g's taco spot on wheels opened up their restaurant after much excitement. the food is amazing and they have quite an eclectic menu. since it was almost closing time, they were only preparing nacho plates and burrito bowls. i opted for the carne asada burrito bowl and my mom had the asada nacho plate. first off, great service. i didn't get the name of the team member who helped us out, but they made sure we were aware of the ingredients and asked if we wanted to make and modifications. wonderful. they were also sooo happy to answer any questions we had. after ordering, food came out quite fast. after eating for a while they checked in on us if we wanted more napkins or salsas and if everything tasted ok, WOW! superb service. now the food, great big portions for great prices. one thing i noticed as well was the up charge for more premium proteins, like the shrimp, was only a dollar for the burrito bowl, that's less than panda! the ingredients were quite fresh, and i loooved the super fresh greens in my salad. my mom adored her nachos and said they passed the test. we loooved the food and the service was spectacular. i really recommend stopping in, i really see myself coming to the mall just to come here. they're also great for a meal break between shopping. i definitely recommend!! read more

Now, to the food -- the menu is expansive and contains a variety of mexican "street" food: tacos, burritos, bacon wrapped hot dog (since discontinued, I believe), nachos and more. I ordered the Hot and Wet Fries with carne asada and a dusting of Hot Cheeto powder. The fries were piping hot, the carne was flavorful, the guacamole had great texture and the salsa (I got red and green) were tasty! I will definitely come back and try other items on the menu. Staff was super friendly and patient with me, as I'm pretty indecisive. Also, I love that the chips were cut to the exact size of the salsa cups?? That's some care and love in the details, you know? One thing to know when you go, the TV screens up high have a scrolling menu, but if you look inside the food truck, they have a traditional board menu with item details. There were a lot of options on the menu so I would like to come back to try more items next time. The outside is a cool taco truck look on it. The menu is pretty large so there are plenty of options. Looking inside, the kitchen looks super clean and well maintained. The al pastor burrito was really delicious and pretty good size from what I took bites of. Please don't be mean to them, they're awesome at what they do! And they're bilingual (English and Español) Nice design, gives it a radical taco truck feel and the glass ceiling of the food court gives it a nice ambiance! The Fish tacos are so good! I loved that I could mix and match my tacos, all priced the same--three tacos for eight dollars, which is a great deal! The ambience was also quite nice. I want to review every time I come back because the whole experience really is that lovely I went like twice in one week lol their customer service is incredible & it's nice to walk up to smiling faces. I like to call in ahead of time and go pick it up if I'm able to and usually it's ready by the time I get there! + they add in nachos and a lollipop which is thoughtful The food itself is SO sooo good and consistently so! [UPDATE1: Review #346] 2019 Yelp 100 Challenge (11/100) I am famished & was soooooo glad to see G's Taco Spot On Wheels! =) I stuck with their delicious SHRIMP TACO SALAD (grilled shrimp, green leaf lettuce, white rice, mild tartar sauce, mango pico de gallo, cucumbers, guacamole in tostada shell) & had it tossed, with RED SPICY SALSA on the side (as recommended by Gilbert). There was a slight wait as I was ordering in the middle of lunch. There were about a dozen customers ahead of me & I still managed to get my salad within a reasonable timeframe. I think I only waited 12 minutes? which is incredibly fast for a food truck. Oh my... this salad is so much better tossed but the dressing was a bit heavy handed that the juices pooled in the paper bowl. And that red spicy salsa is a must! So much flavor packed in this tiny condiment container (I got 2) that I only needed 1. Depending on your chili tolerance, this got heat! ;-) I was quoted an incorrect price ($9 instead of $10), & he honored his mistake, which wasn't necessary, because at G's you definitely get the bang for your buck. Not bad! I ordered the carne asada tacos which comes with 3 tacos and as for the side I chose guacamole and chips. The meat wasn't seasoned enough not having that flavor I was looking for and was really dry. When it came to swallowing it was uncomfortable so I needed to drink water to help it go down.
