    Tacos Don Meños

So, I drive down almost everyday down Arrow hwy towards Covina and I always see this taco trailer/ truck, I see people there lined up for food so now Im curious. I tried to look them up on Yelp but nothing. Anywho, I line up for some tacos as they were pretty damn good. Some authentic Mexican tacos for sure! I came back a second time an ordered a carne Asada burrito, tho the Burrito was quite big, the ingredients Inside tasted a little stale. like the rice they put it in it was dry, and the meat was a bit dry like they cooked it and left it out for a little while. But the Tacos (carne Asada) were delicious! They tasted fresh and had flavor. It's pretty convenient if your driving down Arrow hwy and want a quick bite or a Meal. It's a family owned business that parks in a small shopping plaza everyday after 6:30-7:00pm. I will definitely be coming back for the Tacos.

Here is a little something from tacos don meños.

I love these tacos and burritos . I always use to come here when I had bad times and these tacos would cheer me up

They cut back on on the overall size on the meat. Tacos are not what they were a year ago. Not even close.

This is not the same place I loved for so many years. I've been going here for almost 7 years. I lived just across the street when I started going here and now I'm in Arizona, It was the best place to eat in California on my visit. A true disappointment. My favorite reliable taco truck is gone. Different people cooking inside truck, it could be a change of owners. I think done with this place. I used to tell people about it now I'll tell them to stay away. Some of it was ok but not great. They went cheap on the portions of meat in everything. I ordered carnitas tacos and the meat was salty and over cooked. Pork felt a lil mushy. No real crispy parts on it. The tortillas for the taco was cold. I asked for everything on 3/4 tacos and they lazily put a small portion of onions on the side. The ladies that used to run the taco truck gave good portions and it felt like the food was homemade, a meal that your grandma would cook for you. And also ordered carnitas burrito which was also salty and portion wise its a much smaller burrito and it costs more too. The Champorado had changed in taste and price. Menu said $3 and I got charged $4. Thought it was an off day for them but I had been over twice on different nights. It was still the same outcome, bad quality. I'll have to find a new taco truck to go to, Off to a new place now. Hope its better then this.

I also don't appreciate the poor attitude that two of the bartenders have been displaying lately. They have favorites and it shows a lot. I understand that when it's time to close it's time to close and go. But if you're serving other people and treating those same people nicer because they're your favorites, well that's not cool. In the end we're all patrons. We all support when consuming. But above all, it's the poor attitude that I will never pay for. I used to like coming here often. I probably will never again. I also know that occasionally in the bar they overcharge for cocktails thinking customers will not notice because they've been drinking and bartenders refuse to adjust the check. This is terrible and now you know.

They do not skimp on their portions and actually care how their food looks at the time of service. This place makes sure their food looks nice, but don't charge you extra for that. Service: 5 out of 5 their employees are very pleasant and professional. They gladly answer all your foodie ingredient questions. They are more than accommodating. You will see, they are genuinely nice. As far as the ambience goes, for certain a stro g 4 out of 5. Nothing can be more comforting than to sit back and relax here. They have hi tables woth stools, as well as the hybrid style booth/table combo. Fans are always circulating and it is definitely not too stuffy. They do have music playing in the background, but it is not too loud like many places do. We have been back to try new and different dishes....all have been very tasty. A smaller and cozy place to have a nice meal. I can tell they cater to the local college students and offer a student discount. ***Hidden Bonus: their café de la olla is DELICIOUS! You can twll they make it fresh regularly and do not let it sit. It is by far waaaaay nicer than what they serve anywhere in the area. We would drive to get a nice cup in Monrovia, but this café de la olla beats it hands down. It is NOT bitter, nor is it over sweetened! So.etimes we swing by for a To-good cup. We recommend this place for everything: nice food served with a friendly smile.

I got the breakfast burrito, and it was really good with the sauce. I liked the bacon in it, and it was huge. But without the sauce, it tasted pretty plain, just like a regular burrito with eggs. Of course, I ordered the chilaquiles, but I was disappointed. I specifically wanted dry chilaquiles, and that's what | ordered. I know the sauce usually makes the tortilla chips soft, but these were really wet and soggy. It honestly felt like it had been sitting out for a while because the food wasn't hot. The flavor was good, but I'm not a fan of soft or too soggy chips. Also, they thought our order was for dine-in, so they gave us chips. When we told them it was to-go, they took the chips back. I was hoping they would still give us chip takeout, but they didn't, which was really disappointing. Cmon you already put it on our table and we told them it's to go they took it right away.

There are two Fridays left if you want to partake in the seasonal dishes offered during this time, please bookmark this restaurant. We ordered the two Specials of the Day (Fri., 3/28/25): 1. Tortitas de Camaron con Mole with Nopales and Roasted potatoes (ground breaded Shrimp into small Patties with cactus) $15, served with thick handmade corn tortillas. 2. Capirotada (bread pudding with peanuts & raisins in syrup) $10. We also had Enchiladas in Poblano Mole. Each entree included a cup of Fideo soup, a side of rice and beans. I could not resist the Cafe de Olla (Mexican coffee brewed with a cinnamon stick), this was served with two cookies in a ceramic mug. This is how you would be served in someone's home. I was stunned when they brought it to me. The food was authentic, delicious, good portions. You will love how the food is plated and presented in ceramic dishes (pottery). We didn't finish and brought the rest home for dinner. I literally was transported back to my childhood, when my grandmother would cook these two same dishes during Lent. The hospitality, decor and service makes you feel like you're home. The food restrictions is part if a religious tradition, but anyone can eat these foods. There are only two Fridays left, mark your calendar now. Enjoy and don't forget to tell'em that Rosemary sent ya!

I've really enjoyed my meals and the service (we even had a small spill on the table). It's a smaller restaurant but they do an excellent job on serving you throughout your visit and have some good music playing. You'll start off with chips and salsa which is good not too spicy. Food has been excellent! My daughter kept saying delicioso (Can you say delicioso? *Dora the explorer*) haha. We've made multiple trips since our first time. Carne en su juego had a great tasting salsa. Sopes had a nice crunchiness to them. Chile relleno was very good and juicy. The enchiladas were all very good. One of the things I've enjoyed are tbe hand made tortillas, it's hard to find now a days. They have aguas frescas and it's actually fresh so they may only have one or two each day. Cafe de Olla was good, sweet but I like it (sweet tooth in me) and comes with a cookie. The baño aka restroom also has a changing table (yes no changing the baby on my lap!). We will continue to enjoy the food, service and Mas despacito. God bless

I judge Mexican restaurants by the frijoles and corn chips. If you can't get that right..... The chips came out cold and stale, yesterday maybe, and the Pico de Gallo had little to no spice. Thank the Lord for Tapatio. My plate came out and it was just runny chile verde and beans. I asked where the Huevos Rancheros were as it was not under the chile verde as expected. Back to the kitchen where I believe some of the chile verde was removed to make room for the additional item. I should have had it brought out on a separate plate. lesson learned. The beans were authentic and tasty. My friends carne asada nachos looked great and filling. A bit of a dive with plenty of parking. Empty at 9am on a Thursday.
