Absolutely great, we went to the Motown show and I wouldn't begin to try and find a reason to complain. The show was awesome, the performers, costumes, music and all of the atmosphere within the theater really makes you glad you went. Came to see their Motown Tribute Show Motor City and was blown away by the talent! The selection and performers were outstanding. The theater is not huge so it's an intimate experience. The performers interacted with the crowd a bit which was fun. They have snacks and drinks/beer/wine for purchase. HIGHLY recommend you see this show ! A small intimate theatre that showcased some of the best memories of the Motown era. Run by a small group of people who try to ensure you have a great experience- however, read to the end. KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: Parking is all around the theatre. The entire building is owned by the leather store next door. So, once they close for the day it seems their whole parking lot is for theatre parking. Not a huge area, but plenty for people who attended the performance. There is no need to stand in line at the door before you go in. Although the website says "first come first seated" your seats are already assigned before you arrive. As you enter, you give your name to the hostess at the counter and she will hand you a ticket that you hand to the usher. He will escort you to your assigned seat. The seating is tight. They have maxed out the space for seating. VIP is the first row of seats closest to the stage. GOLD is one row of seats behind VIP. RED is two rows of seating behind GOLD and there were seats lined up along the back wall without tables. There wasn't a bad seat, as the venue is very small. There is a concession stand. It sells jewelry, popcorn for $5, beer/wine/sangria for $7 with plastic souvenir cup, and coke products. It opens right before the performance and during intermission (7-8min). There are two restrooms, they are both for men and women. They are open slightly before the show and during intermission. After the show, they are locked. The performance! The show as a whole is wonderful! You sing, you dance, it's interactive, informative, and memorable. The singers are phenomenal and there are some surprises in the adaptation of a few familiar tunes! My party's only critique was about the choreography. Motown was known for its energy. Although it's a small stage, and space is limited she would have liked more energy in the performances from the cast. Although there were a few hiccups with a storm in the area causing a few performers to arrive late, some lighting and entrance missed cues it was a good night out. It was mostly an older crowd on the night I attended. Unfortunately, I cannot leave this review without mentioning a very humiliating encounter I had with whom I was later informed was the father of the owner of the theatre company. We arrived an hour before the performance because I wanted to review the establishment. I knocked on the door and asked if it would be possible for me to take pictures of the venue before customers arrived as I wanted to post a review on Yelp. I was welcomed by two lovely ladies to take pictures and enter the theatre. I had walked to the concession stand and was just about to take my picture when a gentleman came from around the counter and shouted "What are you doing in here, you're not supposed to be in here!!" I tried to explain that I had permission and asked that he stop shouting at me. He said he didn't care and he began to approach me shouting for me to get out of the theatre. Not knowing who this person was, I again tried to explain that I had asked and been granted permission to be there and that if there was a problem then he should address the ladies at the entrance and that I was a customer attending the performance that evening. As he very rudely ushered me out of the theatre the women also addressed him asking him what he was doing and telling him they had allowed me into the venue. He shouted he didn't care, he wasn't ready and I wasn't supposed to be in there. I walked out of the theatre to my car extremely upset and if it hadn't been for the fact that this performance was a gift for my birthday, and I wasn't alone I would have left. Made plans to attend the Motown Review during our first weekend in Myrtle Beach. While packing for our weekend getaway, I plan on wearing a cute dress however, after speaking to our ticket rep I was told it was a casual place. So happy that I had packed an extra outfit. N3xt time i will make sure I pack jeans. With the exception of a couple of performers whom lack stage performance, the show was amazing. The lead male and female are extremely talented! Mr Henderson was great as well. And, I like how they made sure the audience was engaged. I definitely recommend this show. read more

We saw the Motown Show and it was perfection! The venue is a more intimate setting which just added to the unique atmosphere and quality of the show. The performers are exceptionally talented vocalists. My favorite parts of the night were singing along and being part of the soul train! I didn't know it was on my bucket list but it got checked! I had a chance to view their Motown Tribute show while in Myrtle Beach and really enjoyed the show. I loved the 2 hrs musical that the 4-5 individuals performed and you could tell the audiences were super engaged in the show. The prices were more than reasonable, especially from a perspective of a person who is use to living in HCOL cities! The place can accommodate maybe 80-100 people max...so it's not a big place by any means. You may find the seats a bit too tightly placed together and the lady next to me mentioned she felt a bit too hot inside the theatre. Lucky for me, I was sitting next to the aisle, so I didn't find the seats to be as claustrophobic..but the seats were definitely tight. Kudos to the theatre for selling snacks at reasonable (your typical candy bars/popcorn and soda...NO alcohol though!) prices, too. So, the GTS theatre may not be as known to locals as much...your Uber drivers may be. Little confused as it is right off on the side of a major road. The parking situation looked a bit like a disaster, too. Not sure where the entrance, exit, directions were. So, to save the stress of arriving at at a show late..make sure you arrive a bit early to deal with your parking situation! read more

We went on a Monday night for the 'Motown' theme night. We had a fantastic time. The singers had incredible voices. Lots of costumes, and really enjoyed the performance! It was a good night out while visiting Myrtle beach. It seemed to be family friendly, some kids in attendance but not for very young ones that may get fussy. There are other themes to choose from on different nights. A new show on Friday night is called 'Soul', we had a sneak preview of a song from that one. read more

My wife, brother in- law and I recently visited Myrtle Beach's GTS Theatre. The entertainment produced in this small theatre was spectacular and amazing. Their doors opened on time and all staff members presented very organized, including answering questions. The "Motown" performance was uplifting, interactive and historical with vocals that mesmerized the ears. Both the male and female artiste jumped in with both feet and loving charisma with their body language. There were times, that if you closed your eyes, the artiste felt and sounded like the original singers. GTS is a jewel and Myrtle Beach vacationers should plan to see a show at the theatre. It's a "hole in the wall" kind of theater. I'd say less than 50 seats and it's rare if sold out. The A Redneck Christmas was more of a performance of songs than a play/musical as I had expected, but they had a decent variety of personalities as they also had a ventriloquist! The tickets are a bit pricy, but the snack bar is reasonable. It's an interactive theater since you're so close to the performers (they like to call people on stage from the audience). All in all, give it a shot. Some people love it and said it was their second and third time going.. others, you could tell were beyond uncomfortable. read more

We attended two shows here. The place is small, so you don't have to worry about bad seats. This is not an elaborate venue. The place reminds me of a small local theater. Most schools have a bigger venue. With this said, both shows were still very good. They do have a snack bar, but it is very limited. I think they only have two types of beer. The snacks are basically candy bars and popcorn. Parking is off to the side of the building. So enjoy the shows, just don't expect an elaborate place. read more

Our family went there over the Memorial Day weekend. We had an awesome time! Everyone was friendly and courteous while checking us in and showing us to our seats. And the Motown Tribute was phenomenal. Instead of dancing in the streets, we were dancing in our seats! The ensemble was talented, funny and engaging! The audience was diverse. Old and young. This was a very good show. We had VIP seating which put us in the front row. It was only a few additional dollars and l wanted to make sure we had a good view. This was a Motown records performance event . The singer's was AMAZING.... They sang songs from some of the Motown singer's such as Gladys knight and the Pips. Aretha Franklin, The four tops. Marvin Gaye and many others. We arrived a little late. Our GPS was Very confused. Just be aware if you are using one and unfamiliar with the area. They have parking in front of the theater and located on the right hand side of the theater. The theater has Two unisex restrooms. They sell candy bars and soda, chips the basic movie junk food. Nothing hot though but if you need a good sugar fix during the show it's located right behind the last theater row. The interaction from the performers was amazing. They even had an APRIL birthday celebration which we all stood in front of the stage and everyone sang Happy birthday to you! It was Awesome!! They also recorded the show and was on Facebook live. This was a very enjoyable event and the singer's voice was Amazing. I'm glad we attended. We all was up dancing for that last song. The event last for Two hours from 7pm till 9pm. What a wonderful way to end my Birthday celebration. I highly recommend this event. read more

Motown Tribute. Show itself was very good! Performers (4 men, 3 women) were outstanding! Talented, personable, funny, lots of wardrobe changes. Really enjoyed the music! The venue is not great but satisfactory. It is small, maybe 100-125. Makes it close to see and enjoy the show. Sit in chairs on a flat floor (performance platform is raised about 8 steps). Only 2 toilets, both one-room/one-hole unisex, but they were clean. Staff friendly and accommodating. read more

This place get 0 stars. My husband and I booked tickets online 2 weeks in advance. When we arrived at 7:02pm (two minutes after showtime), there was a couple standing outside trying to get in. The door was locked. I tried to call but no answer. I sent an email to the email address I received the tickets from letting them know there were 2 couples outside. I received a swift response stating their extreme policy of "doors are closed 10 minutes BEFORE the show". There was several emails sent back and forth as I tried to get in....we were visiting from out of town. The person was very rude saying we should've read the policy and we would not receive a refund nor a gift card towards a future show. I asked could we come in during the intermission and it was a blatant no. As emails are going back and forth for over 30 minutes, a man from inside the theater came outside saying he was "security" and he would talk to the "the lady" inside to see if we could at least come in during intermission since we wouldn't be disturbing the show. The answer was NO! So we still continued to wait outside until intermission till almost 8pm in hopes they would have a change of heart, letting us in so we could at least catch the second half of the show. As People came outside during intermission to take a smoke, I still tried to see if we can get in. The security guy jumped in front of me blocking my way into the door. I started talking to the people outside, who was taking a smoke telling them about what was going on. They agreed that this so-called policy/rules was ridiculous and extreme. The "security" said he will have to call the police to escort us off the premises, because we are bad mouthing the theater. I was stating the facts. Basically, in a nutshell, this is a very unprofessional business and does not befit southern hospitality. You could at least let folks come in during intermission, but my God, why be such a tyrant. We finally called an Uber. I told the Uber driver what happened and he immediately stated the place was racist. I will not let this experience keep me from visiting beautiful Myrtle Beach. Afterwards, we went to the "whiskey beach bar" up the road. PLEASE CHECK THEM OUT!! There was karaoke and I sang my heart out, as I am a singer .
