My wife and I went out with the intention of going to Keke's Breakfast Café, but when we got there we were told there would be 20-30 minute wait despite more than half the booths being empty, (My hypothesis is that they can't hire of keep staff despite the extant staff seeming quite happy and pleasant.) Not wanting to wait, we walked a few dozen steps to a place I had noted before, Quaca Go, re-tuning my culinary expectations from French Toast to burrito. There was no table service, but that wasn't a problem. I'm a bit uncomfortable about being served, probably legacy of my radical upbringing which is currently being eroded by dining at Abe & Louie's. It also provided an opportunity to see the food and its preparation à la Chipotle. Here, this presentation was a great idea. The food looked as fresh and delicious as it proved to be. The staff was pleasant and attentive. They seemed to enjoy their job and a small sign on the counter showed their first names under their photos allowing a more egalitarian exchange. read more

Guaca Go embraces the avocado loving people of today and I couldn't be happier about it. Simple food, healthy choices, and pretty decent prices. While they do have a great idea, I may have visited on a semi off day. The avocados were overripe and covered with dark bruises, which was kind of a bummer because I pick better avocados at the store. The menu for ordering was also a little confusing and the staff members weren't too willing to help or offer suggestions. They also got my two bowls confused in the end, which resulted in my husband's jalapeño filled bowl topped with my chicken, and my sweet pineapple bowl topped with his shrimp. I'm not usually picky, but having worked in food service for many years I expect a little more from a jazzy restaurant like this! This morning while making breakfast I spied an avocado on my Man's counter and I said dreamily to no one in particular...we should have guacamole at some point today. Evidently the universe was listening because after an attempt to try Hurricane Alley for the first time (who knew they were closed Monday) we walked directly across the street to another place I have had on my "to nom" list, Guaca Go! The staff was friendly and helpful walking us through the 4 step ordering process: pick your base (I went with tortilla chips...but later also ordered a side of plantain chips and THAT is the way to go...order plantain chips as your base for a small extra charge), build the guac (I went with their OG plus corn because when given the option AWAYS add corn), add protein or keep it just guac (I had the shredded pork and it was very moist and flavorful, ditto for the Man's chicken), and sauce it up (loved the creamy cilantro lime). Next time I'd try it with the chilled shrimp and more jalapeño and onion (there was plenty of those two in the OG but I am extra about spicy and onion! Pricing was fair for the area (near the intracoastal waterway) but maybe a bit on the pricy side for guacamole at $8.70 for the "Just guac" option up to $12.85 for the shrimp option and all the rest of the proteins in between those two. However, maybe not much more than buying the ingredients you'd need to make something this nice and fresh! They had a small selection of adult beverages, and an interesting fountain drink station with craft sodas by Stubborn Sodas (I tried the Man's Pineapple Cream soda and it was delish) and some flavored lemonades and Aqua Fresca type drinks! It's much like any other counter service restaurant as far as indoor seating, but there is a lovely patio out front with some small tables (though the traffic on Federal takes away a little of the ambience). First visit, not sure what I expected but this was similar to the chipotle set up but they chop a whole avocado and add your choice of beans & veggies mix it up then place that on rice or lettuce. I added chicken which was then added to the top. You also get one choice of sauce. While everything tasted good mixed up with the avocado it just wasn't as good as I expected. The chicken wasn't warm and flavorful and the romaine just didn't have enough crunch. Maybe I was being too picky but that's my take. Just not enough flavor. I was in Boynton at lunch time and wanted something healthy so I was excited to fund this restaurant on Yelp. They have options of salads, rice bowls, and wraps. They all come customized with several types or your own version of guacamole, toppings, and protein. The protein choices include chicken, tuna, carnitas, and veggie protein. They also have some good sauces Including a chipoltle one that I liked. There is counter service and they make the food as you order. The staff was nice and helpful. The place is dirty and the food is gross. We used to grab the food here all the time when they first opened and loved it. A year ago I got rotten, slimy tuna. Last week we stopped in for lunch, thinking we would give them another try. I got the chic peas. They were rotten and slimy. The black beans were overcooked and on the edge of going bad as well with a sour taste. The standards are in the toilet. Unless they improve, I would avoid. read more

Our Boynton Art Fest recently brought us to Guaca Go on Ocean Ave. A new addition to this neighborhood filled with local bars and a great choice for a healthy meal! I watched as they sliced and chopped an avocado into a huge layer of topping for the bowl. I'm definitely going to try this at home. My avocados are never ripped soon enough, while they had a whole box of ripened ones.... green gold! They have variety of meat choices in addition to vegan. The diningroom is simple, clean and open with windows all around to enjoy the great Florida sun. They had a special popsicle for dessert. This place was within walking distance from downtown Boynton Beach on a cool night. Parking is easy at the city lot across the street. read more

After taking a drive in the area, I settled for this gem. Parking can be kind of a pain if you don't know where to park, but I figured it out after driving around on the other side and there's parking behind the building. I walked in and went through the back part from the lot. The main entrance is from the road for customers that are walking by. I had to ponder what I wanted when I saw the menu. The rice bowl was the selection and it was great. I got it with black beans, carrots, guacamole, cilantro, corn, and feta cheese topped with cilantro lime dressing. Everything was fresh, healthy, and light. Even the happy hour margarita was perfect to pair with it. It was bright and clean as well as the staff being very friendly and professional. You're able to see your order being made and have the option to eat in or out if you don't want to take it to go. I commend them for opening up during the summer of 2020 in the middle of a pandemic. I found Guaca Go while returning from the beach and decided to stop in. They have a nice selection of bowls with meat, rice, veggies and guacamole flavors to choose from or you can build your own custom guacamole. Loved the concept of building your own guacamole since we all have different toppings we love. I decided to try the original guacamole bowl which had onion, garlic, jalapeño and a few other items and was delicious. I had the choice chicken, tofu or carnitas to top it with and plantain chips, tortilla or veggie sticks to dip. I went with the plantain chips which were crunchy and good. If you have ever been to a local street festival, you might have had their guacamole from their push cart. That was the first time I tried their home made guacamole. I like that I can pick what goes into my guacamole and now I don't have to go to a festival because they have a storefront restaurant on the corner of Federal Hwy and East Ocean Ave in Boynton. They were pretty crowded inside today since they just opened and it is something new in the neighborhood. I ordered a simple guacamole to go with no protein added. They do try hard for the up sell of adding meat but I am a traditionalist when it comes to my guac. I have to say that it was very fresh and made in the quick service style but there was just not enough on the menu to make me want to come and eat a meal there. I also felt it was a little pricey for the product served. At a festival, I am a captive audience for a healthy snack. As a storefront, I felt that they didn't serve anything I couldn't easily pull from my refrigerator and make myself. No special ingredients and to get 1 whole $.69 cent avocado with a few mixins for $8.00 just didn't have enough wow factor for me. The gentleman behind the counter was very friendly and helpful as I was a little confused as to how to order but once he assisted me I laughed at myself. As a long time dieter I have to tell you that having the guacamole in the salad with the dressing and my tuna poke I felt like I was eating potato salad! I was in heaven. After visiting south Florida I wanted a meal that was on the healthier side and I am so happy that I tried Guaca go. They have customer wraps, bowls and salads. I ordered the chicken bowl with tumeric rice, black beans, lettuce, sour cream, and tons of avocado. The bowl was so large I was unable to finish in one sitting. We also ordered the chicken wrap. This was ok. The tortilla was a bit dry. Overall I would go back and order the bowl again it was great and full of flavor. Be aware you have to find street parking. Can't wait to go back! read more

They have gourmet sodas if you're in to that but the lime juice is good enough. The menu can get a little cumbersome but really, you can get up there and just pick what you want a la carte. I had the bowl, rice & greens mixed with sweet & spicy guac, pork and spicy pepper sauce, delicious!
