We had a wonderful experience here for lunch I went with my son and his fiancée. This is walking distance to where they live it is so quaint and adorable inside. The menu has a variety from vegetarian to gluten free to healthy and homemade delicious. I ordered the turkey chili and a half of tuna sandwich on lettuce, and my son order a turkey sandwich which looked absolutely delicious along with an Acia bowl with fresh fruit and granola. The bread tasted somewhat stale, it was very messy with everything out of the bread section and HUGE slices of lettuce... the overall taste wasn't the best. It's ok. I've just had so much better. I was headed out of town and wanted to have some sister time before I left. I see this place looking busy so I wait around after sending sis directions. She has a long break between her classes so she drives out to meet me. Maybe I should have left after seeing so many people walk out while waiting in line. She was able to drive over, find parking, and then wait with me for our food. My sister is a picky vegetarian that also doesn't eat eggs or seafood. So the fact that I was paying for her food and found something new that she could try was a win for her. Until she tried her food. Then I had to agree once I picked at my bland tuna wrap, bland acai bowl, and both of our smoothies. Sister had the strawberry banana - I didn't think you could get any blander until she let me take a sip of the one she got here. Broccoli soup was ok and so was the veggie melt. So it's easy to say we(I) felt the food is overpriced. While eating our meal, when we realize we'd been here before for smoothies and that time we thought the same...kinda bland. Service a little ... meh. It wasn't bad. It was just extremely slow. No clue why people were just hanging around the register while so many people were waiting for food. There were tables that could have been wiped down or something? This is what made me lean towards 2 vs 3 stars. I had this bookmarked to try again. My kids and I stop here once a month after a big park day in Lake Worth. The quality has declined over the last year or so, but it's our habit to go so we just kinda kept coming back. But not after today. We ordered an egg salad wrap, a turkey wrap and a 1/2 pb/banana/honey sandwich. The bill was $18.89. I felt like that was a little steep, considering no chips or drinks are included but it's cool - we understand it's a local biz and prices are high for everything these days. We bring our own water, it's all good. When the food arrived it was pretty dismal. My son's wrap consisted of 80% lettuce, a couple cucumber chunks and literally, in each half of the wrap - ONE mouthful of slimy lunchmeat style turkey. Mine was also mostly lettuce, about two tablespoons of egg salad with a few veggies thrown in. Now I'm starting to get a little annoyed, because eggs are relatively cheap. So I ask the gal in the table area if I might please have some egg salad on my egg salad wrap. I show her the inside of the wrap. She informs me that every wrap gets one spoonful, that's just how they do it, and I can buy another wrap if I want more. I tell her I'm not cool with that, and ask if there's anything that can be done. She says no. I tell her then I'm not going to be coming back. She tells me if I don't like the food, I shouldn't come back. So I snapped a pic and sat and picked through the mound of lettuce, quietly seething. I'm pissed, so as I'm leaving I call my husband to tell him about it. He calls and speaks to the owner. The owner, Rosanna, proceeds to tell my husband that the food was fine, his kids "ate everything," his "wife is a liar" and that not only will they not refund our money, we should not come back. Oh, she also hung up on him twice. So, be aware. If you want some actual food with your food maybe try another restaurant in downtown Lake Worth, there are LOTS of good ones. For juice, head right around the corner to the Juice window, those guys are great, accommodating and reasonably priced. I'll post a picture once I submit this review, so you too can play "find the egg salad!" ***Also attached is a screenshot of the owner's response to my review... I don't eat at McDonald's, I eat at HER restaurant. Stopped in late morning recently after the beach. Hungry for breakfast ideas the girl (owner?) behind the counter looked through me as if I were invisible. No greeting. No smile. Zip, nada. With only one other customer in evidence, she walked past me to deliver a smoothie outside. I waited and perused the board menu on the wall. I inquired about the breakfast items but was instructed it, "was 11am and we don't have any more breakfast". This was at 11:05am. Suggestions for another item? Nope. Engaging and cheerful demeanor to promote business? Nope. Classic attitude as if I were inconveniencing her? Oh, yeah. As a local I believe in patronizing local businesses but clearly employees without any inkling or care about what it takes to create a customer are a flaw here. Business must be REALLY good.
