Newly opened and with nice decor! I got a jackfruit burrito and the keto bowl. For drinks we tried the vegan horchata which did have a decent flavor. It wasn't overly sweet which I appreciated. The keto bowl was very fresh tasting and the cream made the dish. My burrito was a decent size and I was super excited to try their flavoring of the jackfruit. It was tasty but the overall mix inside the burrito fell a bit flat. Instead of fresh lettuce or even cabbage, the cooked cabbage mix made the burrito a bit mushy. There seemed to be a lack of varied texture. I probably would try something else on the menu next time. Great place for vegan food. Stepped in on a super hot day for some refreshing vegan ceviche and a Cucumber Chai Lemonade. The lady got one of our go to meals, vegan nachos. Always amazing taste but nice to try something new besides my favorite Chile Relleno Burrito. The ingredients used always taste fresh, and the portions are plenty. Staff is always super friendly. This place is not close to home for us but the food is worth to come back for. It is one of the best vegan/plant based Mexican establishments we have tried. This place has fresh vegetables and quinoa. It is definitely the healthier side of being a vegan Mexican restaurant. It also doesn't just have fake meats and vegan cheeses. There are plenty choices of proteins and not all of them are fake meats. The colorful look of vegetables is what you are going to see when you order the bowls. We had their Fiesta Bowl and Avocado Lime Quinoa bowl. As proteins we tried the Soyrizo and Mushrooms Carnitas. The protein was not salty but tasty. I especially love the mushrooms carnitas which is made of oyster mushrooms I believe. Hubby ordered Minty Pineapple Lemonade and it had chunks of fruit, not just liquid. It was delicious. I ordered the vegan Champurrado and it was perfectly sweet and warm. It was like drinking hot sweet dessert that I could savor for a long time. It was also delicious. We ordered more to bring home: Burritos and Pozole. Things that are good to take home (not crunchy tacos, for example). Since we had to drive 26 miles we wanted to make it worth the drive and not to have to cook for the next day. The only thing is that the place is hard to find and to look for from your car. I can't believe I haven't reviewed Guacamaya yet! My hubs and I have eaten here so many times, including the time it was in a strip mall. Everything is great...except the mushroom mulitas, but to be fair, I think that's because I was not a mushroom-person when I ordered them and since I was newly vegetarian, I was trying really hard to give mushrooms a chance. (To be honest, I'm still not a mushroom-person because slimy-mushy food is gross). My go-to order is the Pozole. The portion is big enough that I have saved some for work the next day, and it was still delicious. I tried the new Chile Relleno Burrito when it first came out, and it was way better than I expected. My current favorite dish is Abuelita's Gorditas with asada. Soooooo good. I got the Guacamaya Wrap (because it reminded me of the Crunchwrap Supreme at Taco Bell). It is a HUGE portion and I highly recommend it. I brought it home for leftovers, my husband ate it and didn't even know it was vegan food. They also have some alcoholic brunch beverages as well as aguas frescas. It's my second time here and honestly not only do they have amazing food but this place is just so appealing to the eye. It has a fresh vibe with lots of greenery, the ambience is great it feels like a true oasis and the music is always fun and lively. My favorite dish is the vegan ceviche, it's a great plate to cool down with on a hot summer day, perfectly bite size cut tomatoes, onions, cauliflower and cilantro. In case you want to get a good sweat in, drench it in the red salsa which is spicy but leaves you wanting more. Second favorite has to be the mulitas plate. It comes with two mulitas and your choice of protein. You can choose from a variety of proteins but I like to go with the mushroom carnitas which is a great substitute for meat. Tastes just like the real deal. Third favorite has to be the Guacamaya Wrap. Try it with the jackfruit barbacoa protein. You won't be disappointed. I was let down, arrived here on 4/4 around 9:35pm. We ordered the Chile relleno burrito & I ordered the keto bowl with jackfruit Barbacao. Was informed they were out of spinach so they used romaine lettuce. The man who took our order said, " will this be to go since we close in about ten minutes?" I thought that was kind of rude. It was 9:40 and we were going to just eat and leave anyway. Not really linger. I didn't want to be rude, but we got our food to enjoy there. That made me feel a little weird. The food itself was not bad. My keto bowl was super delicious and fresh. The salad dressing had hints of lime and cumin. The jackfruit Barbacoa was also delicious but we did notice the jackfruit and my friends burrito were lukewarm. That was kind of gross. After about 4 bites of my salad I found a long hair. I wanted to ignore it, but was soo grossed out. Talked to the manager and was issued a refund. The strange part is nobody even apologized for the hair in my food lol.
