We are an amazing experience in eating Healthy Vegan Food in Boyle Heights at Un Solo Sol.
    Lance H.

Solid Vegan and the food is not only to nourish the body, but your mind and soul. We had an excellent meal today! This was my first outing since my recent hospitalization and rehab to build my body back in fighting cancer. My Queen Michele and I were coming from LA County Medical Center to follow up on my surgery. We are on a new path eating healthy food and getting the right foods for our bodies. The opportunity to first learn about a place in my Barrio of Boyle Heights and meeting Carlos (the owner) who shared his experience with us in providing healthy food to be the "medicine" for our bodies, "Sunrise to Sunset"! We had the Curry Peas Bowl, Shiitake Mushrooms enchiladas and the Green Pozole with Mushrooms, I highly recommend it. We happen to run into fellow Rough Riders

I was pleasantly surprised. If you are looking for good, clean eating food, this place is a must try My enchiladas were" tofu" pastor inspired seasoning, the other shredded calabasas, tofu light and delicious!

Food was amazing! Had the pupusa with organic masa, beans n greens and a sweet delicious steamed banana. It tasted like comfort! My gf had the rainbow tacos...which I'm getting next time! The el pastor mushrooms were made with love.

If I could give Un Solo Sol more than 5 stars, I would. This is hands down one of my absolute favorite restaurants, and I truly cannot say enough good things about it! What sets this place apart is how extraordinarily clean the food is. The level of detail and care they put into making sure they are serving the absolute cleanest, highest-quality options is nothing short of extraordinary. It's incredibly refreshing to find a spot that prioritizes wholesome ingredients this much without sacrificing an ounce of flavor. Everyone needs to come here just to taste what truly healthy, good food can actually taste like--it's a total game-changer. Every single dish feels vibrant and nourishing. Beyond the amazing menu, the atmosphere is so warm and inviting. Carlos is also very kind and goes out of his way to make every visit special, which just adds to the magic of the whole experience. You can really feel the passion, heart, and soul they pour into this establishment. I honestly wish I could eat here every single day. Do yourself a favor and check it out--your body and your tastebuds will thank you!

I absolutely love this place! The owner is so nice! This is such a healthy snack. Authentic food. The whole vibe is very chill and that of an authentic Mexican restaurant. Amazing if you're vegan but also just an amazing spot for non vegans or veg curious! Please do yourself a favor and check this place out!!

Such an amazing spot, can't believe it took me forever to check it out. They specialize in vegan food and it's absolutely amazing. Whether you are vegan, watching your weight or just want to try a new delicious spot, then make a stop here! The service is amazing! They made sure that we were able to submit our order through their QR code and checking on us to ensure that the food was good. I highly recommend to check this spot out, even if you aren't vegan. You won't even realize that it's vegan because that's how good the food is. I ordered the chilaquiles and know that there was nothing left once I was done. My table order the potato tacos and enchiladas, both plates were also delicious.

A fantastic restaurant with great health-conscious food and exceptional service. We were served by the store owner. He's been vegan for decades and shared with us a plethora of diet and health advice, delving into topics like live gut bacteria, the benefit of leafy greens, etc. He clearly cares about his customers' health. He explained that he tries to avoid serving fried food, sugary drinks, etc. There is a single-stall bathroom in the back of the kitchen that you have to be escorted to. Give this place a try. You'll come to see that food can simultaneously be healthy and delicious (:

One of my favourite place to grab lunch with vegan friends! The place is small, but the food is delicious and the service always friendly. One of my faves is the lomo saltado with mushroom; great flavour and you don't even miss the meat. Only downside is that there's only street parking and the ac isn't great.

What a sweet little find! My friends and I were in the area for a conference and were looking for a quick vegetarian bite. To our delight, we found this awesome vegan Mexican/Indian fusion spot in the heart of Boyle Heights. Our server, who I am assuming was the owner of the place took so much pride in explaining to us how everything he was going to serve us was vegan and made in house. We ordered chips and guacamole, taco platter (pastor, choya- chickpea stew), tacos de picadillo, and taco de nopales. The platter came with rice and beans and my friend and I ordered agua de sandía and agua de guanábana. The pastor was made with mushrooms in a pastor marinade, choya was made with chickpeas, and picadillo was made with a blend of lentils that had been stewed spices for hours. As the owner explained, nothing they use is made with inflammatory artificial meats. The chips were baked, the guacamole and aguas frescas were made on the spot and nothing was over sweetened. 5 stars because this place is offering the community real health on a plate! The flavors offer you that, real healthy and flavor infused guisados that come from using real ingredients. Don't come here expecting to satisfy a salty fried filled craving. Come here with an open mind and in appreciation of what healthy good for you food should taste like.

    Fruit bowl (kid approved)?

Great service, delicious and healthy food in the community. The aguas frescas are a perfect taste where the sweetness is not overwhelming. The only issue is parking but that's the only limitation.

No but they took my reservation and made us show up to a closed restaurant. They should seriously update their yelp account!

Hello, is everything vegan/vegetarian, or do you also serve real meat?

The last I spoke to an employee, they serve eggs and chicken. They just recently stopped serving beef.

Um, what?! How is this vegan?! Whatever meat alternative they used, the texture was perfect. Also amazing seasonings and sauces. It was packed with flavor and lots of veggies. And it was super filling, too! I also grabbed a coconut water cause I need my electrolytes. I took my meal to-go, but kind of regretted it because the inside is so cute! Retro diner chic. I saw mention of this vegan Mediterranean restaurant after I failed to secure a reservation at Pura Vita, a nearby vegan Italian spot we liked on a previous vacation (review: https://yelp.to/FHUmsvRN-m). It was a further walk from our hotel, but we had no trouble securing a table for two here. The menu looked mostly Italian, so we were quite pleased with the choices. Jamie ordered the $25 Spaghetti Carbonara, a fresh tasting, gluten-free rendition with bits of vegan gianciale, green peas and an impressive whole "egg" yolk on top (Photo 8). I must've been in a "meatier" mood and went with the $26 Tagliatelle Bolognese, another gluten-free delight. The sauce had a savory umami flavor anchored by chopped mushrooms, carrot, and onion (Photo 9). The pasta had a surprising al dente texture. We shared the salty-savory $14 Grilled Artichokes with olives, capers, roasted peppers, lemon, and mint (Photo 10). Although portions were just right, we still found room for the generous $12 Brownie Sundae with vanilla ice cream, fudge sauce, coconut whip, and brandied cherries (Photo 7). What a find. I've been wanting to try Crossroads Kitchen for a long time, and I'm so glad I finally made it…read more While the ambiance and décor evoke the warmth of an old-school steakhouse or classic Italian restaurant, the food is anything but traditional. It offers a fresh, modern take on vegan Italian cuisine. Drinks & Appetizers We started with two cocktails: the Strawberry Girl (alcoholic) and the Let It Be (non-alcoholic). Both were excellent. For appetizers, we ordered the Moroccan Cigars, served with a light, tangy yogurt-style dipping sauce with just the right amount of heat. The cigars themselves were delicate, filled with plant-based meat, and lightly fried. Think of an elevated, artisanal taquito. A perfect lead-in to the main course. Entrées We ordered two dishes: the Spicy Rigatoni Vodka with the chicken Parmesan add-on, and the Spicy Meatball Pizza. Pro tip: absolutely add the chicken Parmesan to the rigatoni. The vodka sauce was bold and spicy without overpowering the dish, and the chicken Parm was beautifully cooked with excellent texture, a natural and well-balanced pairing. The pizza was exceptional. True to its name, there was a meatball in nearly every bite. It's topped with ricotta and dusted with parmesan, and we added red chili flakes for an extra kick. The crust is very thin and artisanal, and every component, the marinara, meatballs, sausage, ricotta, and parmesan, worked in perfect harmony. The dough alone is worth finishing every last piece. Dessert We ended with the Brownie Sundae, which was the one minor letdown of the evening. The ice cream appeared to have been pre-scooped, as it was quite firm with visible ice crystals, not ideal. The brownie itself, however, was absolutely delicious, though the portion felt a bit small relative to the dish as a whole. Overall, the sundae was just okay. I'd likely skip it next time and explore other dessert options. Service & Atmosphere The service was fantastic, and the overall ambiance was warm and inviting. The pacing of the meal was particularly impressive. Drinks, appetizers, entrées, and dessert all arrived at just the right tempo. Nothing felt rushed, and nothing lingered too long. Parking There is no dedicated parking for the restaurant. Crossroads is located on Melrose Avenue, a busy shopping district with heavy foot traffic and limited street parking. That said, we visited on a Sunday afternoon and found street parking without much trouble. If spots near the restaurant are taken, driving a few blocks into the surrounding neighborhood usually turns up more options, just be prepared for a short walk. Plan your arrival time accordingly to avoid any parking stress. Overall, Crossroads Kitchen delivered on every front. Creative food, excellent service, and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend, with the rigatoni and pizza as must-orders.

Small things I'd personally wish to change is that the onion is too strong in the macaroni salad. Wish it wasn't in there period. And the rice is a little on the dryer side and it sticks to the container- so when you scrape up the last bits of rice, you could be eating the paper from the container. I like that they use compostable containers though!! But yeah the rice is on the harder side especially as leftovers. But whatever, their main items are bomb and makes me not care about anything else. Service is quick! Note: it is not a sit down restaurant. You order (ahead) and park on the street and call them to let them know you're outside. They'll bring the food out. Reception isn't great outside fyi.
