I had a very good first experience here. They have service for both Spanish and English speaking customers. Very colorful vibrant decor celebrating Mexican and American heritage. I had the special nachos. Every I like. The grilled shredded chicken was plentiful and delicious. Included beans queso dip, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, salsa and guacamole on a bed of corn chips And chips on the side. I asked for a salsa with some spice and she suggested the tomatillo (salsa verde). Wooow! That had more kick than I was expecting. Just a little dab will do the trick. Well first off if you have a phone number that isn't (317) your call will never go through. They have some sort of call blocker and might as well get in the car and drive there and order. Prob one of the most ignorant things I've ever seen and they're the only place I've encountered this. I guess they don't have any issue leaving money on the table. I'd def say just like every other place to eat they're overpriced and seemingly from day to day the price fluctuates and no one is ordering the " catch of the day" but frankly that seems to be typical of any "authentic" Mexican restaurant. We were In between multiple Mexican restaurants in the area and landed on this one, service was great and food came quickly. We haven't had queso in a long time and was shocked how much was In the small bowl, filled to the rim so plenty to share, the guacamole was fresh and delicious, also loved their salsa!! My husband had the seafood quesadilla, loved it. I had 1 carnitas, 2 chicken tacos, & a side of beans. All delicious. The chicken tacos were my fave and limey how I like it. Good favor, not great and the wife was ill later in the night after eating her shrimp enchiladas. Hate to accuse the restaurant of making her sick, but I was fine eating my own dish and not sharing plates. Salsa (with complimentary chips) was bland tasting with minor heat. My enchiladas rancheras were good, but nothing stood out. The wife didn't eat most of the enchilada tortillas because they were too greasy. I probably should've gotten the fajitas because an order was served to a nearby table and it looked like a winner. We stopped in after a visit to the laundromat. It was fairly late, but the restaraunt smelled fantastic and looked uncrowded so we stopped in. I immediately loved the vibrant decor and we were seated right away. I ordered the Acapulco Special and my husband got the Pollo Fundido. They brought chips and salsa to the table and we also started with some guacamole, which was very good, and our dinners came out quick as well. Ive been going here for years since I was little, it was always a staple because it was one of my favorite restaurants growing up. I even celebrated my 18th birthday here. So I decided to take my boyfriend here after getting off of work. We ordered 2 drinks, one cheese and beans dip, and a dessert. Someone please explain to me why it came out to be 25$?? We came in an hour prior to closing and didn't plan on overstaying our welcome but the waitress was insanely rude and she didn't bother giving us straws for our drinks or returning asking us things like "would you like a refill" or things as such. After we received our food we were both baffled by the nearly 10$ "large" bean dip that looked the same size as the free bowl you can pour your salsa into. For reference please see the photo. We asked the waitress what a small would be if that was considered large and she simply pointed to the small salsa dish acting like there was a major obvious difference. It sucks, I really loved this place and I can say from experience of other times, when I ordered a large bean dip this is not what I received. It had a rubbery texture that made the dish off-putting. Not only that, the pieces were very large and unappetizing. No real crab was in the food, nor was there a notice on the menu stating that it was fake crab meat. There is one thing about this place and that is the consistency of wonderful quality food. The food always comes out fast and hot! This past time we went, it was a little warm inside. The strong frozen strawberry margarita cooled me down very quick! Chips and salsa are always on the table immediately after being sat. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five was due to the slower than usual service after being sat. Our chips were dropped off at the table but the girl who did so didn't say a word do us or grab a drink order. We have been going to Guadalajara for a number of years. When we decide to go for Mexican food, this is the first place we think about. The place is nice place is comfortable and clean. The food is good great customer service. The only thing I would say as I changed my decision for to eat the nachos. Weren't the best as most of the food didn't have any cheese on it and I know that's not a traditional cuisine, but there wasn't a lot of cheese on the nachos. Oh Mexican food how do I love you let me count the ways. A group of us went our for dinner and decided to come here. This location is in a strip mall on the East side near Washington Square. The interior is VERY festive decorated everywhere in brightly colored decor and a large fountain the center of the space. The four of us came in on a Tuesday night for dinner and they had customers but were not overly busy. We were promptly seated and our waiter came for our drink orders. We received our drinks promptly and placed our food orders shortly there after. Our waiter came back to our table twice to clarify one persons order asking the same questions each time (I think he forgot) and was very nice. We were quite hungry and ordered guacamole and cheese dip with meat to enjoy with our chips. They also offer a more mild version of their house salsa for those with a more delicate palette. I found that salsa in need of a little more flavor, and the consistency was too much like tomato sauce. The chips and salsa didn't last long and it took quite awhile after several requests to get a refill. I ordered a Chicken Quesadilla with Fajita Veggies and it was wonderful! Perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The serving was so large I took half of it home for lunch the next day. Someone else ordered Steak Fajitas, and another one ordered Shrimp Fajitas. They both reported that it was very good. Great Food! Good Prices! The best Michelada I have ever had! I have been coming here for years and it seems as of lately every single time I come here the food and the service keep getting worse and worse. I keep coming back because it's so close to my house but I think today will be the last time in a while. I came in and there were 4 parties that were ahead of me and had been sitting there for about 10 minutes.. with half the staff sitting around and plenty of tables open. Then my server I get is in an obvious bad mood because everytime I ask him for something he stomps off or comes back with a snarky comment. I ordered my food and had to wait almost 30 minutes for it and then the meat in my burrito was dry and chewy. When I asked my server when my food was coming out and he said well yea.. everyone's food is coming out soon. I dont often write negative reviews.. in fact if you look at my review history its overwhelmingly positive but I feel like this place needs to step up their game and quickly.
