Love love love this store my favorite place to shop!! The prices are great..they have an international type aura and I like that no I LOVE that. Lots of things, NEW things to see or try. Lots of assorted candy's lots of candy's from my past like Abba Zabbas ora Good an Plentys. Cashiers are super friendly and efficient..if you have a problem management fixes it quickly. Security will help you anytime for any reason I've had security help me with bags or helping with the electric cart I ran over something and it wouldn't go he picked up the back end of that heavy machine and got out what was stuck! Saar's has a great selection of food choices including a lot of ethnic foods. Their prices are better than their competitors, especially meat prices. They offer great bargains on buying meat in bulk quantities. They have a large produce section that is well stocked. The store is clean and the service people are friendly and helpful. And I appreciate that they are open for business from 5AM to 2AM, so that I can shop when it is convenient for me. read more

Huge range of produce that spans several cultures. Huge range of noodles. Tons of Mexican cheeses. Great for Mexican and many Asian cuisines. But the typical American products are the lowest quality you can buy. Good for prices, not good for quality. They have the worst checkout system I've ever seen with these really awful piggyback registers that don't make sense and don't make things faster. It just makes finding the shortest line harder. I hate the checkouts so much I won't shop here. They're confusing and really slow. Not the cashiers' fault- it's a bad system. read more

I went with my relatives and we went to a new store and had a Red Bull in hand and we went inside the super savers with the energy drink. We were just shopping for groceries food like usual and one of the swipe worker he's tall was asking me if I bought the drink because it was opened and I said I bought it from the store and he had a lot of attitude. Then this black manager came up to me with the white guy I was like do you buy that drink and I was like yes I did. I told you guys that I bought the drink from rainbow mart near by and he kept saying that we were robbing when we never robbed and I quote told them to show me their cameras, showing me where I was robbing because I was not robbing and they had a lot of attitude, and it was just an unpleasant experience. I have not went back to this super savers because I felt so disrespected. The black manager was super aggressive and unprofessional, he never showed me the video footage of me stealing they were just stalling the whole time when they were trying to show me the cameras on their phone because they knew they were wrong. they were claiming to call the police and I was just trying to keep it calm so I was just like OK we're gonna leave even though we didn't steal and we left. We didn't even buy anything. We left the groceries in the car. I was so disrespected and I think it was racially motivated as well this should never happen again. Is she getting a workers and a manager because even the food is not good quality and those rats that have seen the store reeks every time I enter with smell it just smells like an abandoned meat house. Never go to the super savers it's horrible and gives me a very bro vibes so that's why I'm just happy to never go back because it's low maintenance energy and I do not condone that. read more

I said hi to the security on my way out and he didn't greet me but stepped in front of me to block me from leaving. Demanded a receipt which I provided. Worse than Walmart. Please know the policy I am not required to show receipt. Treated like I stole something. read more

So, for the second time this year, the cashier didn't give me the cash back requested on the card reader. When I went back to the store to get my $20, the assistant manager refused to give it to me and said that the cashier in question "NEVER" makes mistakes. She refused to even discuss it without waiting until tomorrow to count the till. I asked to speak to the store manager, so she took my receipt and gave it to him (Joe Hodge). Mr. Hodge also refused to make things right. When I left the store, I realized that they had not even returned my receipt. When I went back to ask for it, they lied and said they had already given it back to me, and they ordered me to leave the store. I only buy a couple of things in that store because I couldn't get them anywhere else, but lately, I've been finding those items in other stores. I do most of my grocery shopping at QFC. Whenever there's a product that both Saar's and QFC carries, QFC is usually significantly cheaper, or QFC carries a higher-quality version. However, I still go to Saar's fairly often, because they carry a lot of stuff QFC doesn't, especially in terms of Asian and Hispanic foods. Saar's also usually has cheaper produce (even if the selection is more limited), and spices are usually WAY cheaper at Saar's. For example, a bulk container of garlic powder is $25 at QFC and $5 at Saar's. Also, since Saar's is outside the Seattle city limits, they don't charge a sugar tax, so a lot of beverages end up being a lot cheaper. And they carry all the flavors of Jarritos! So anyway. Saar's isn't a great choice as a primary grocery store, but I still like having it around. read more

When I walked in I thought I had died and gone to heaven. This place is seriously magical. Produce is practically all under $1.00 a pound. Huge apples and mangos. Beautiful grapes. Just great quality all around. Their meat section was awesome too. They labeled specific cuts for their intended use: big tender steaks said for the grill and thinly sliced beef said carne asada. Seriously wonderful prices whether you want a little or a lot. The very best part?? Processed foods cost way more than wholesome foods! It discourages you from buying bad foods and encourages healthy options! This place is my new paradise. I should add that this place perfectly blends a produce stand, an asian market, and a Hispanic grocery store. Lots of options here. read more

A girl that worked in the back where the fried chicken are. Hella rude!!! I go there, seeing that there isnt much chicken left. Asked her if more was coming out, she said 15 mins so i wait. When its done, she says to me " you couldnt just take those? It came out 30 minutes ago" I tell her thats not the point. It wasnt enough for my order thats why i wanted to wait and just get it all at once. She then turned around and puts the chicken in the bag aggressively and hands me the bags to rudely. Nice produce here but look at the price carefully because sometimes something you wouldn't expect to be priced by the pound is. I recently bought a head of green leaf lettuce expecting to pay $1.88 but that was the price per pound. I might expect to pay $4.98 for a head of lettuce at PCC, but not here! read more

One of the best bargain grocery stores in Seattle! I think there are about 6 of these places scattered around Seattle. I go to the one here in West Seattle quiet often and the one in Newcastle occasionally. Great prices on meat, fish, veggies and berries. Always good quality and better than the big stores. read more

impressive i must agree that staff do listen to yelping customers aka whining when things dont go right...i previously written my review regarding my ribeyes bought at saars in many locations and now i have to recant and improvise and upgrade my review here at saars located in white center. their ribeyes are properly labeled or at least their butcher properly cut the correct part of the cow which is known as ribeye... ribeyes purchased today 12/24/2021 and cooked accordingly and the result much much much more tender than previous ribeyes i have bought ok saars you got me. and ofcourse thank you very much for the much needed change and improvement. hey..... saars are selling real ribeyes i can vouch for it now as of this date....hard earned money deserves quality food. read more

We were devastated when the Burien store closed--we did 95% of our shopping there. I guess the City Fathers™ decided it didn't fit with their new upscale image they wanted to project. Well, La-Dee-Dah! Great prices, super sales, tremendous variety of ethnic products you'll never find anywhere else--kvass, anyone? Anyway, the new store in White Center has dropped the name Saar's. Its main problem is that it has less than half the square footage of the old store, and so the selection suffers. The good generic stuff they used to have has been replaced with Albertson's generics, which are not nearly as good. Maybe when they use them up, they'll go back to the old products. People blaming them for the security guards roaming the store should be aware that Albertson's had them too in this location--highest shoplifting rate in the chain. The owners may have changed but the neighborhood hasn't. Anybody who can't get past the fact that this isn't Whole Paycheck shouldn't shop here--to each their own. If you're willing to rub shoulders with us mere mortals for a few minutes a week, however, you'll get some great deals. Unfortunately, I just moved to Kent last week--don't ask. I'm going to try WinCo tomorrow, maybe they'll be my new Saar's. Wish me luck! read more

Ooooooooooooo do I love me some affordable produce! This place is my "it" spot near White Center to get cheap but high quality produce! I walk in here for a bell pepper and they're $0.50!!! You gotta be kidding me, at QFC, less than a mile away, those same peppers are sometimes up to $2 each. Can you say rip-off QFC? ? Anyway, Saar's also has a big selection of ethnic food, including Mexican and Thai, among others. I always get my Thai cooking supplies here!! Pro tip: make sure you look at a the circular for addtional coupons/deals BUT read the fine print. Sometimes to get the coupon price you have to spend a certain $ amount first! Is this place a bit dirty? Yes. Is some of the produce to be avoided? Yes. Are some of the prices absofrikingloutley low? Yep. Leave your fancy pants at home, and come visit this place! I have found so many great prices on this, especially produce. The bell peppers here are a great deal. I've also been super impressed with their Hispanic and Asian foods selection. Their sales are wonderful, and I have found many gluten free mixes and "flours" to be priced much lower than other places. It's kind of like the price of an ethnic market, but all the benefits of having a supermarket. While you won't find someone to help you when you need it, and you should probably use hand sanitizer if you touch the cart, it's worth a trip here. It's all about gleaning- pick and choose the things you fancy and enjoy a very low dollar amount on your bill. read more

As a bargain hunter, Super Saver (and Saars....wasn't that a respiratory virus?) have amazing prices. But as with many bargain places, you have to be selective. They had a wide range of products and the store seemed clean. I had gone looking after noticing some amazing specials on fruit. Some, I came to find out, required a purchase of 5 or 10 pounds--a little more than I needed. Others, well, some of the sale fruit did not appear to be first quality. But overall, all the prices were still less than Safeway, QFC, and of course Metropolitan Market/Whole Foods/PCC. I was nearly floored when I saw how inexpensive the beef was. It had been a while since I'd purchased beef. They had strip steaks at about $5 or $6/pound. All seemed decent, but I noticed one that had so much marbling, it seemed to be Choice. Getting out was a bit of a different story. The lines were long. My cashier had to have someone get a price. I asked if she would move the conveyor belt so I could put my stuff on it and it seemed as if I had asked for her firstborn child. She didn't acknowledge me or say anything until handing me the receipt with the canned, "thankyouhaveaniceday." When I got home, I found I did not get the sale price on the eggs, and she charged my limes as lemons (which were more expensive). It was about a $2.50 difference. I contacted my credit card company. I also complained on line. After about a week, I got a nice, and apologetic call from the manager. He first asked my forgiveness for the delay, then listened to the problem. He said he'd address the service issue with the cashier, and asked about providing me with a refund. I replied I'd already received the credit from the card company. He asked if I'd ask for him on my next visit. Frankly, any place can have someone working who is new and not quite up to par. The real test is how the place responds, and they responded well. Now as I've owned a store, I know that finding good staff is tough. I could also see from being in the store that they took pride in the store. I'll definitely go back. I just need to be a little selective with sales, and avoid new staff. read more

It's like anytime that I am here, there are never enough cashiers. They do a really good job of payroll control since they seem to barely have enough people. Be prepared to wait in line because you will. Two registers for one cashier is not efficient. I don't know what the expectations for the cashiers are, but they can still only handle and interact with a single customer at a time. Now you just have two lines full of waiting customers. Yelp needs to hire some better programmers. This is my third attempt to post a review. This is the Saars from Burien that moved to the Albertson's in White Center. The staff is hard-working, friendly, and union. I shop here on an almost daily basis. Prices are better than the chains for the same items (e.g., Tillamook Cheddar for two dollars less for a two-pound block, Big Buy bacon for $2.99/lb, etc). They carry local eggs, locally made Greek-style yogurt, fresh veggies, and their liquor prices are better than anyone else in the neighborhood. And the fried chicken is great. They also carry Schmalz's sausage in the deli section, which totally rocks. Shop here! read more

Customer service here is non existent. No one smiles and the employees don't seem to care. My cashier Yolanda today may have been the slowest cashier to date. If I had not been the next person after waiting so long I would have moved to the line with the sweet Latina girl that opened a cashier next to the one I was in. I was at the checkout stand and the lady in front of me didn't speak English. The cashier told her to get her stuff out of the basket and to put it on the conveyer belt. The lady didn't understand her so she just smiled. The cashier got mad and pushed the basket back! The lady that couldn't understand just got her basket and went to another cashier. This is one of the worst things I've seen at a register!! The cashier should know better that the majority of the customers are minority decent and do not understand English!! Womppppppp. Not a fan. This place was tolerable as Alberton's, but now I just can't even stomach coming here. There are a ton of neon colored signs hanging from the ceiling that are completely distracting. There are so many of them bunched up together that you can't even really figure out what they say. The produce is not of very good quality, nor is the selection very great and the meat is definitely questionable. And to top it all off, this place doesn't save me any money at all. It's cheaper to go to Safeway, which is also much cleaner. I do feel bad giving this place such a bad review because the employees are nice, but this grocery store is just not for me. read more

CHECK DATES people because this store has tons of expired items past the sale by and best by dates from baby foods to cheese and all kinds of things and when mentioned to the store employees, it;s as if they give a damn NOT!!! . The reason this place gets three stars? Well it's simple. It has really good fried chicken. At $8.99 you get a fried chicken dinner with potato salad and a pack of Hawaiian sweet rolls, which is pretty reasonable. Also, it has a very vast selection of Asian products which I like.
