Manager being rude thinking I'm stealing he was super aggressive and rude.

I went with my relatives and we went to a new store and had a Red Bull in hand and we went inside the super savers with the energy drink. We were just shopping for groceries food like usual and one of the swipe worker he's tall was asking me if I bought the drink because it was opened and I said I bought it from the store and he had a lot of attitude. Then this black manager came up to me with the white guy I was like do you buy that drink and I was like yes I did. I told you guys that I bought the drink from rainbow mart near by and he kept saying that we were robbing when we never robbed and I quote told them to show me their cameras, showing me where I was robbing because I was not robbing and they had a lot of attitude, and it was just an unpleasant experience. I have not went back to this super savers because I felt so disrespected. The black manager was super aggressive and unprofessional, he never showed me the video footage of me stealing they were just stalling the whole time when they were trying to show me the cameras on their phone because they knew they were wrong. they were claiming to call the police and I was just trying to keep it calm so I was just like OK we're gonna leave even though we didn't steal and we left. We didn't even buy anything. We left the groceries in the car. I was so disrespected and I think it was racially motivated as well this should never happen again. Is she getting a workers and a manager because even the food is not good quality and those rats that have seen the store reeks every time I enter with smell it just smells like an abandoned meat house. Never go to the super savers it's horrible and gives me a very bro vibes so that's why I'm just happy to never go back because it's low maintenance energy and I do not condone that.

Dirty and more expensive than Safeway. If you are on a budget, Grocery Outlet is much better

Also, other things, but those are the staples. [they have yummy pan dulce, cakes and desserts, and all the chips you can dream of, some imported from MX Direct] The location could be better, but they have a private lot, and we haven't had any issues in the two-plus years of coming here. Most items are reasonably priced, and the folks here are helpful and welcoming. There could be seedy characters around, but most mind their business. We tried a few other markets closer to our neighborhood, but their selections weren't as good as Castillos. Castillos has most things you can dream of and their carniceria is also bomb, we've tried most meats here, they're pretty high quality. The only con here is the price of the meats, but it's understandable that since they're a small market, they're less competitively priced than the larger grocers. Also, I don't want to hurt their reputation by getting into the details; all I will mention is to be very careful with the Chorizo. Make sure you chew it thoroughly and inspect it carefully while cooking.

Expect the unexpected when you are here. Plastic tablecloth on rolls - yes! Tamale steaming pots that double as seafood steaming pot - yes! Clothing, costume jewelry - all yes! My elderly Filipino in-laws would have loved this crazy place. It's like a dirty Fred Meyer that is catered to SE Asians, Mexicans, and more. While I might not recommend this place to anyone, they have their charms to treasure hunt and prices tend to be low. If anything looks questionable, it is. I don't buy any of the seafood. The meat is a maybe if you live nearby. The produce is mixed, too. Gai-lan (Chinese broccoli) in a bag looked suspicious; they were. I still make mistakes with what I buy here. Meanwhile, a box of honey mangoes is better looking than any others I have seen - BIG and approaching ripeness. They were superb. The deep-fried SE Asian treat from a mold that looks like a lotus flower (called Khanom Dok Bua in Lao or Khanom Dok Jok in Thai) is a surprising winner. I didn't die. They were good. LOL. Look thoroughly before buying. They have their gems and plenty of don't-bother goods. Look for best-by dates. They are not on top of such details. The staff is friendly-ish, if they aren't pre-occupied with friends. Otherwise, you don't exist until you pay.

When we arrived, we were told by a kind and energetic female employee that they didn't do that and they only have prepared tamales. She did let us know that there is a Mexican restaurant on the other end that had rice and beans and we thanked her then left. The store itself was very clean and there was plenty of space to browse around but it is a bit cramped. The meats here looked very fresh and the prices were very fair too! I was thinking that we should probably get some snacks and decided to pick up tortilla chips, fresh made guac, and 1/2lb of chicharron which ended up being $20.20 and that seemed like such a great deal especially with how much chicharron we got and it was so delicious! My brother told me that chicharron is usually eaten with guac and their guac here was fantastic both with the chicharron, chips and on its own. My boyfriend wants to come back to get more options, he saw that they did a specific specialty for a good price and wants to try that out.

La Canasta is a great all around Mercado for every thing you need for home cooked tacos or burritos. They do not sell liquor, so for Mexican cervesa you'll have another stop. They also have an in-house restaurant with dine-in, take out, and delivery that is very good. The best thing that La Canasta does is their chorizo seco!! I have tried all of the local varieties from here to there, and La Canasta makes the best! I recommend grilling (be careful as it is oily and will flare up) and then crumbling on tacos, burritos, breakfast burritos, etc. I also will prepare a bunch in advance and freeze, so I can pull out for quick reheat. Overall, La Canasta is a delightful Mercado for authentic Mexican/Latin food!
