Staff is very nice and food has so many choice, Fresh and clean supermarket. I like the bakery and variety selections.

I feel like every Asian has the one Asian store that they gravitate towards and then always go to. For me, that's Hung Long! They're a pretty big store right in the heart of White Center. They have everything I need for such a good price! Produce, meats, every instant ramen I need, the go-to spices and sauces for asian dishes, kitchen tools, and ready made food such as banh mi. If I need anything Asian related, I know Hung Long with be a one stop shop. They are very clean and always very stocked. If there is something you need that you can't find, they are probably about to restock it or they will show you where it is. Their workers are also the best! They are all such hard workers and very friendly. For the years I have been coming here, they have all been the same employees for the most part and the little exchanges I have with them in the aisles or at the register always makes my day. read more

I've been to Hung Long Asian Market a few times. It is small compared to Uwajimaya, but they have most of the Asian groceries I need and it is a lot closer to my house. They are located in a little shopping complex. There is a free parking lot, but it gets pretty busy and the spaces are small. The aisles don't have signs and some of the produce isn't labeled well, but mostly I just make a couple of laps to find the stuff I need. There isn't really anyone around to help you but I think most customers don't need assistance. In general, I find the prices to be cheap and the people at checkout are fast. I love Asian markets! I was in West Seattle, and needed to grocery shop, and came across this place. If you compare it to 99 Ranch, this place is small. I usually shop at Chinese markets, and being Chinese, I know more about Chinese products. I don't know much about Vietnamese products. So a lot of the snacks were foreign to me. I did find some rice crackers I like though! I bought: - persimmons - small yams - udon noodles - rice crackers The price of produce is just ok, not the cheapest out there, but decent. read more

I come here often, so I am surprised I have not reviewed this Asian mart prior...the name alone, seriously! :) But monikers aside, it is well stocked. It has all the basics: herbs, aromatics, jarred/canned/dried staples, snacks, etc. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and it is family owned. Very clean for an Asian Market, although less clean than Korean megamarts like those in Tacoma and Federal Way. A couple of issues compared to other markets in Tacoma/Seattle: Expense: decidedly pricier than Tacoma and even supermarkets for Spam and other items. I am not sure if this is a Tacoma/Seattle thing, but it was a bit to contemplate for buying some foods. Still cheaper than Uwajimaya. Produce quality: every onion was bruised and the brocolli was old and like rubber on last trip. Asian items were fine. No Japanese items: very few Japanese goods. Most other ethnicities represented and are arranges by country mostly, but sauces are all together and there was a good selection of those. Limited selection of some items: one kind of Spam ($3.99!?) and a couple Asian generics. Okay, I may have a thing about Spam. No duck and roast pork. Sad. :( Overall, Hung Long meets my needs, and it is in my hood so I can go there often for the things I need to cook. My favorite market is Hong Kong Supermarket in Tacoma, mainly because it has roasted items and a full deli. Good basic place overall. read more

Seemingly reasonable prices on fresh produce and live seafood however I must caution shoppers with a strong caveat emptor. When checking out on my most recent visit I noticed that the checker overcharged me for several items. Like nearly twice the prices shown on the shelves. when I queried about this she pretended not to understand what I was talking about so I just drop the issue was left after paying. Not only that but the interior of the store is quite chaotic with boxes ripped open and the contents spilling out onto the floor. Personally I will no longer be patronizing the store. read more

Okay, get over your laughing at the name(think about it for a second). This is a really good Asian market. For starters it's neat and clean, the fish tanks have nice clear water, the floors are spotless and the meat and fish look very fresh. Compared to several other markets in White Center this is a huge leap. If you don't want to cross the bridge into the ID you will find pretty much anything you need, or didn't know you needed here. There are three full freezer cases of bulk shrimp as well as a full case of yucca and banana products. The steamed dumpling and doughy products case is fully stocked too. We picked up some split steam buns to pair with the roasted duck that we bought for 14 bucks. The duck isn't quite as good as Kings BBQ or Kau Kau, but still is pretty darn tasty. That and some scallions and Hoisin made a pretty delicious main course for us and some friends last night. But the main reason I like White Center is the diversity, and that carries through in the store. The staff is friendly and welcoming to everyone. This is a great addition to White Center! read more

I was just in the area and noticed this place seemed somewhat new. Lots of interesting asian foodie things you can find here. The deli section kind of reminds me of Lotus in Renton Highlands. It's modestly decorated/organized. The evenly spaced wall banners along the back are cool. There's an entire aisle dedicated to hispanic food stuffs which is probably meant to cater to the hispanic population in White Center. I really liked the Vietnamese snacks I got, which aren't even all that junk-y at all, as far as snacks go. There's a couple things more I'd check out when I'm back in the area. Hung Long Asian Market is a great choice for specialty Asian ingredients if you live in West Seattle/White center. It's a lot more convenient than Uwajimaya (and better prices too!) THE ROSES: Easy to get to and plenty of free parking. Surprisingly good selection of products given is size. THE THORNS: Interior is clean, but a bit run-down looking. Funky layout, including using a deactivated freezer bin to hold and display servingware. No signs indicating what is down each row like most grocery stores have. This means if you're not intimately familiar with the store layout, you'll have to go up and down each aisle to find what you're looking for, and hope you don't overlook it. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy as well; I wouldn't feel terribly comfortable here at night, but it does appear the merchants who share this shopping complex do a good job of policing the area for loiterers and litter. THE VERDICT: Surprisingly well-stocked Asian market in a easy to reach location. I recommend this store. read more

Kell: Came here today to buy some groceries for my husband and I steak night, I went to this store knowing they have some decent prices for meat and shrimp but wasn't so sure about the other products so much. I knew my husband was craving something sweet on the side. I wanted to get fresh fruits but they didn't have a very big selection on fresh fruits, more so just bananas. Mind you I've noticed there's a lot of flies in this market. Somewhat bothers me esp since it's mostly on the onions (which I mostly needed for the steak, end up going to qfc for onions, & fruits). Any whom, I've came along the canned fruits and spotted a can of lychee I wanted my husband to try out. Came home, opened the can of lychee and spotted these grey little weird things in the syrup, and on the lychee, I grabbed one to look closely if it was a mold and oh my goodness it was a weird baby fish looking thing I showed my husband and looked at me wish disgust and was happy I had my 20/20 vision glasses on. I would've fed this to my husband and my family not knowing what would've been happening to our stomach. The steak on the other hand is good. Meat wrapped and secure is a bonus but I hope nothings wrong with it since it's so cheap. read more

The produce section is kept nice and clean with the prices shown. However, the prices are not labeled in the canned and dry goods section, so you really don't know how much you're paying for them until you get to the Cashier. One time, I had a sticker shocker for some rice noodles. Big disappointment! I just wish they could label the prices better, so I'm not surprised at the checkout counter. Also, don't expect a great Customer Service here because that obviously doesn't exist here. read more

With the West a Seattle Bridge out of commission, I thought I'd head south instead for a few Asian store essentials. Fou Lee is my usual spot, and I was hoping this could replace it, at least until one magic year, we have a new WS Bridge. In any event, this place turned out to be OK, though not exactly what I was expecting. It seemed they stocked primarily Vietnamese and Thai brands. I thought the store itself might be more like Seafood City in Tukwila, but it was far less organized and clean. They have a basic produce area, nothing more. This store works in a pinch but it's not a great replacement for Fou Lee. I believe there's another Asian store not very far from here, and I'll likely try that place next before I'd come back here. I'd also be more inclined to take the scenic route and trek over to Fou Lee before I'd come back here. Again, not a bad store, as it's handy in a pinch, but a bit too limited for me. read more

This place has great selection of Vietnamese and Korean groceries. Primarily Vietnamese. They have great noodle selection both dried and frozen kind. They also carry lots of sauces and dried vegetables. Their meat and seafood selection is okay. Their fish tanks look frothy.( they looked as if they were never cleaned) it was a major deterrent for me or else I would have bought seafood from here. Please do check out this place. Great selection & prices This is the new location for the small Asian grocery that used to share the parking lot with the White Center Liquor Store. It was great then, but you had to deal with it being small and run down. Now it's in a new location and the problems are eliminated. Cheap produce, great selection. You run into problems with the age of the items on shelves, so I would stay away from frozen meats that aren't processed on site. Aside from that, again, you can't beat their prices without running all over town. For stuff that's sold in the same quality at other stores, like hot sauces and pre-packaged stuff, they must be in on some secret Asian handshake deal. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I've found stuff that costs twice as much at mainstream supermarkets. They got my kudos in the old place, and they re-get it now. Plus, they named the place after me from when I used to make adult films to pay my way through school. Check me out in "Bone Zone VII" or "Jizzle in the Hizzle", if you're so inclined. Bottom Line: The best place in town got better. Not quite Uwajimaya, but it's great for White Center. read more

After buying my meat from this market, it's hard for me to go any where else. If you haven't found out already, meat is always cheaper at Asian markets but some places can be a little sketchy. As for Hung Long, I've never bought bad meat or meat that caused me to get sick. If I'm buying anything to make an Asian dish with, I refuse to buy it at Safeway or another local store. Hung Long is a bit out of the way for me, but it's not that bad of a drive when you have a certain sauce you need at Safeway for $5.49 and it's $1.49 at Hung Long. There's only been one person there who seems to not be very friendly whenever I go in to shop. Don't mistake them for not being friendly because they don't say much - most of them don't speak that much English to begin with. Definitely try some items in the deli. All I wanted was some damn lemongrass and they didn't have any. But I won't hold that against them. It's by far (besides Uwajimaya) the cleanest Asian market I've ever been in. I come here when I am simply too lazy to drive to Seafood City or Foulee for my Asian grocery needs. There's a decent selection of vegetables and for the most part, they are pretty fresh when I come in. They also sell boiled peanuts, which is also a plus as they are one of my favorite snacks. Also they have these cool baskets that have wheels and a second long handle so that you can pull it around if it gets too heavy. Love that. Other than that, I don't really buy anything else from here. The refrigerated and frozen items seem kind of sketch. The staff hasn't been too friendly or helpful on the times I've been in. The parking lot is pretty small and majority of the spaces are for compact cars, both of which are extremely unaccommodating to the occasions when I am driving a big SUV. This place is fairly clean most of the times, well compared to other Asian stores this one is pretty clean, it could do better. As with all Asian stores in the area, this one smells too of pickled bamboo, fishes and pickles. So don't come in if you have a sensitive smell to nasty fishes and stuff. I found Hung Long in a search for a nearby Asian market that wouldn't be in ID. Yelp told me that this place was popular and I thought "Sure, why not?" The GPS got lost trying to find this place as it is not clearly marked off the road. Their sign is non-existent as well as facing the 'other' direction from where you are coming from. I did a few U-Turns and finally found the place hidden in a shopping strip. The store felt dirty so I'm not sure about all the reviews saying it was spotless and clean. No one greeted me when I came in and I was able to find mostly what I wanted on my own. The kicker? The bottle of Maggi seasoning sauce I wanted was a whopping $6.99. HOLY Cow! At best, I would have paid $4.99 or so at a ID store so this felt like highway robbery. When I checked out, the cashier guy was nice enough but he forgot to hand me my goods and I walked out and jumped in my car to drive off before I realized I was empty handed. I went back in and he said he looked for me but I was a ninja who took off (I don't recall seeing him come out to find me). I wouldn't come here unless you were desperate but don't do it if ID is only 10 or 15 mins away. You'll pay for it in prices! read more

Hmm.. so I just visited this place and have mixed feelings. Being relatively new to Seattle, I have no idea if there are better Asian markets (like the ones I'm used to in California) or if this is as good as it gets. I haven't been able to find my ideal place yet. This place has a good selection of sauces, spices, ramen, chips, etc. but the produce and seafood selection was questionable at best. In fact, I know for sure that I would never buy anything from the seafood "department" because of the lack of cleanliness. There was not a lot of organization going on, many things were just sitting on the floor, and it smelled awful throughout the store. I was pretty excited to get a few package Meji treats though, which is really what I came for. I will probably be back until I find something better. read more

Clean place. Has lots of stuff. Here are some down falls off this place...a lot of things don't have price tags on them until you ring it up at the cashier and the price is way up. The meat balls for pho is too expensive. $4.29 a pack. I came on a Thursday and there was only 1 cashier. read more

This is a nice and clean market that is close to home. I frequently go to Viet Wah, Uwajimaya, and Seafood City for various and sundry things. Hung Long is convenient for veggies, sauces and rice. I'll have to still make my trips to my other markets for specialty items that they don't have; but I'm glad it's in the neighborhood! read more

We got a fabulous live 2 1/3 pound Dungeness crab yesterday for $7! The vegetables, especially the ones used for Asian recipes like Napa cabbage, ginger, sugar snap peas, etc., are much fresher and less expensive than the ones at the grocery stores nearby. Not bad but not great. They have a variety of things like any other Asian supermarket would have. I usually buy frozen or packaged items, but will occasionally buy fresh vegetables as well. I probably would opt out to buy meat elsewhere though. The lady whom I am assuming owns the place, has a stern, stern but fair attitude if that makes sense lol. read more
