Last week I took my wife's Nissan Altima to Guaranteed Auto Service in Newport News for a VA State Inspection & Oil change. This was the 2nd time I have used this shop since moving to Hampton July 2020. When we moved to Hampton, I immediately began searching for a family owned & operated auto repair shop. I searched Google & Yelp for the BEST shops throughout Hampton Roads. All my research indicated Guaranteed Auto Service was the place to go. I have not been disappointed! This shop is laser-focused on providing great customer-service, and top quality work at an affordable price point. They are not going to perform unnecessary work. They treat you like family (a friendly greeting & cold bottled water when you walk in the door; free car wash before you pick up your car and Thank You Note on the seat). Do Not take your car to this garage especially if you are a woman. You are Guaranteed to be Overcharged with no explanation!! I had a check engine light on in my VW and went in to have it looked at. It took them 2 days to do a tune up and oil change. I asked them to look at my brakes while it was in there and they never did. The total bill was almost a $1000.00!!!! What a rip off. Called Guaranteed and they were able to squeeze me in the next day. Dropped my car off when they opened that morning and picked it back up around mid-day. i had a great experience with guaranteed auto service, i came in wednesday with a cylinder 4 misfire and they were able tell me a diagnosis and quote the next day. I was contact them anytime that was convenient to me and they made the process very easy. and go with the services i wanted. They replaced all my spark plugs and coil packs. Just picked up my car from Guaranteed Auto Service on Warwick Blvd. in Newport News, Va. 23607, and my opinion of this auto repair shop's work is garbage. I took my car in to be fixed for oil leaks and what did they do, they saw an obvious oil leak that appeared to be coming from behind the timing chain cover so they said and I observed while checking on my car at the shop. They fixed that oil leak to the tune of $1617.70 and I know they saw evidence of an oil leak where the transmission bolts up to the engine called where the Rear Main Seal is located. I only took my car to these people because I didn't have the time, tools or energy to do the job myself, now I wish I had done it myself. I would advise anyone who cares about their vehicles like I do, to not take your car to this place as in my opinion is they are a "total rip off with what I think are mechanics who are inexperienced or dealership service technician rejects." I hope that $1617.70 makes them rich and they can feed their families for the rest of their lives because they need it more than I do. read more

I chose Guaranteed Auto because of its Yelp reviews and prayed that they were as advertised. After my car was taken off the Tow truck I was greeted by Paul and Harry. They assured me that my baby would be well taken care. Later I was told that I needed a new transmission. (fyi ... those CV Transmissions are crap! Sorry NISSAN) Whenever I do business I look at it as "transactional" or "interactional" and depending on the answer determines if I will continue to do business with that company, Transactional means the business provides a service; I pay and we're done. Interactional means the business shows me they care. Call me by name. Ask pertinent questions and goes the extra yard. I'm proud to say my business with Guaranteed was interactional . They took care of my baby! I feel like I'm driving a brand new car. Btw there is no repair they cannot do. So if you're told to take it to a dealer bring it here. I was due for my 50K service for my Land Rover and came here first thing in the morning. I needed the all points inspection and I knew I probably needed an oil change. When I arrived I was told I would be able to have my truck serviced and it would be ready by noon. Disappointed, I said I was willing to wait (it was 7:30). They offered to give me a ride back to work but unfortunately did not have base (military) access. I went outside to coordinate a ride back to base when I was told they would go ahead and get started on my vehicle to help me out if I was still willing to wait. Long story short, not only was my truck ready to go by 9:30, I also only had to pay for the service I actually needed (the oil change) vs the dealer style routine service prices. Took my 2004 mini cooper in to see why i couldn't get any cold air. After a day they called me back and said they would fix it for $1700 because the compressor is broken. Bought a new coil on amazon for $60 and changed it myself with a buddy, i now have ice cold air in the mini. Oh yea and by the way, THE COMPRESSOR WAS FINE. When i went to go pick up the mini they tried there hardest to try and convince me that i cant get it fixed anywhere else for cheaper. Thanks for the waste of time guys!!! read more

Currently unable to leave a review directly on Google ; but coming into Guaranteed Auto Service last minute for a speed calibration, I was going to expect a long wait to get what I needed done. But to my surprise, unlike many other auto shops in the relative area; this place has a feel of "home" to it. I was greeted, offered refreshments, and given service immediately. Everyone in the shop is very friendly & extremely helpful in anything that you may need fulfilled. Earlier this year I came to the shop with a whole slew of things wrong with my 97 Honda Civic. They not only gave me a good price for the repairs, they also gave me a ride to work and gave me a loaner car to use. Then the other day, I was driving to work and something goes wrong with my transmission. I managed to pull to the side of the road. I call to the shop and Ike answer's the phone. I tell him what happened and he jumps in the wrecker to come pick the car and me up. Like usual the cost of towing, repairs, ride to/from work (I'm just joking about this part, they don't charge for that) was very reasonable! I'm so glad I found this shop. My experience with Guaranteed Auto Service has been nothing short of exceptional. I had learned of their services when a close friend suggested I look up an ASE service location for my 2008 Mercedes S63. I had taken my car into the dealer for service, as I normally do, just a few days earlier. The quote for all the items they said was wrong was excessive that even the dealer had to question it. Well, took my car into Guaranteed Auto Service and had them run a diagnostics. To my surprise the list of repairs needed were not equally the same. I showed them the service list Mercedes gave me and they personally took me under my vehicle and took the time to show and explain to me what they found and why what Mercedes found was not the issue. Imagine the $$$$ of dollars I saved by going to them and the service I received was much better than I could have ever expected. A week later to my surprise I had another issue with my car, a crack fuel unit that is hosed under my back seat. Smelled gas and brought it in the 2nd day after the smell got stronger. From the moment we walked through the door all of the employees treated us so nicely. Not only did they fix the car, they tolerated our dog which was riding with us, offered us sodas and snacks, and gave us a free rental car!
