They're informative, show you what's important, what to look out for during your driving tests, and any habits you need to either make or break! What really helped me the most was their optional payment to pick you up an hour before the test; Although it costs a lot of money to do so, being able to drive through both the DMV routes will help you know what to expect & to ease into driving right before the exam! Most importantly, I will repeat again, the instructors are very patient. In just four lessons and a total of eight hours, I was able to cover all basics thanks to this amazing driving school! However, when attempting to access the course materials on June 17, 2026, I discovered that the login functionality was no longer available on the website. I contacted the school that same day and engaged in several text exchanges over the subsequent days. According to their representative, Drea Carter, the business migrated to a new course provider approximately three months ago without providing prior notification. Although Ms. Carter provided contact information for the old provider, my attempts to reach them were unsuccessful. When I informed Ms. Carter of this lack of resolution, she stated that the business was unable to offer further assistance. As City of Trees Driving School has accepted my payment, I expect the business to honor its contractual obligations. While I previously requested either course access or a refund, I am now formally requesting a full refund of the purchase price.

There are limited trucks available at this location but it is a convenient location to pick up a truck if you live in the Elk Grove area and need to move. The truck has a flat rate and mileage is additional so it would be beneficial to be closer the pick up/drop off location. It is a smaller business so patience is virtue.

I rented a truck from them once just to move a couple of beds from my mom's house back to our house in Elk Grove. I thought they were the closest and returning it would be easy. Too bad I was wrong and the beginning of a nightmare. The truck they rented to me was big enough to do the job but incapable of doing it. Thank God the truck died just before making it to my mom's house. I called to tell them their truck died, but they basically said that since I rented it, it was MY responsibility. I had to babysit it or find some way to get it back to them. After giving up on moving that weekend, I decided to just limp it back, even though it sounded like the engine was going to explode at any minute. After an hour of driving it back to them, five miles, I finally gave this back to them. They didn't even try to give me a free rental to make up for their horrible rental. They sucked so bad I really wished Yelp allowed us to either post 0 stars or another symbol to warn other Yelpers! As for their Diving shop, I wouldn't want to venture a guess much less trust them with a life supporting breathing apparatus. Avoid these clowns at all cost!

I selected Program 2 with an additional 1-hour lesson ($575 for 5 hours of instruction.) The instructor was kind and patient, however, always showed up late behind at least 20-45 minutes to every appointment and contact me at the last minute, so I never know until then. Moreover, my 4th lesson was cancelled at the last minute, even though she decided the appointment day and time. She ended up wasting my Sunday since she scheduled it in the middle of the day on Sunday. To make matters worse, the instructor provided feedback about my final lesson only after my behind-the-wheel driving test was already over‼ I informed her about my test day, but I didn't receive her feedback until after the test was over‼ This made it impossible to review effectively and rendered the feedback meaningless. As a result, I failed the test. Therefore I had to take extra lessons with another school. ※Update based on the comments below: I personally do not think this is fair‼ Was I treated differently than other students⁉ I didn't feel completely prepared because all lessons except the final one(DMV mock test) always finished earlier within 1 hour. Especially when a student specifically requests to work on their weaknesses. I took an additional lesson and asked to practice areas where I struggled, such as parking, lane changes, and merging into heavy traffic. However, you barely focused on any of these, despite my direct requests‼ Instead, you spent most of the time having me drive in a straight line, leaving me still uneasy about lane changes. I'm pretty disappointed that I did not receive the instructions as she mentioned below, or even the promised one-hour duration except for the final lesson‼

It is a 10 week program that's financially affordable and you're able to complete even if you have a full time job, I know I did! You will meet with your instructor twice a week, one day you will do your classroom portion and the next day you'll be doing your practical/ lab portion with your classmates. Your instructor will help and guide you along the way, you will be able to find an externship which will help with your experience and in finding a job!

I went and did a little research on Assist to Succeed and also looked up the Facebook page of this particular location and so on. I even decided to e-mail one of the students that was tagged in a picture to ask her how she liked the program. She said she loved it and had nothing but good things to say about it. I think there are only 2 Assist to Succed programs as far as i know and one of them is in Oroville. So i am happy that there is one in Elk Grove, since that isn't too far from where i live. I decided to show up in person and ask questions and get more information. I didn't have a car at the time and the money, eventhough this is far cheaper than going to one of those other colleges. I wasn't going to sign up right away, but wait for the next class instead. Becky was really nice and explained how the program works and i left feeling good about possibly starting something new. However, i never did sign up for the program at that time. Here we are a year later. I went back 2 weeks ago with a friend of mine, because the both of us were considering becoming Dental Assistants, so she came along with me and we met up with Becky, the instructor. Again she answered all of our questions, showed us around and told us what all the program entails and what we have to look forward to. We even got a folder outlining what we will be learning, dress code, registration form etc. She's super sweet :) she gave us a card and told us we could feel free to contact her and ask her more questions if we had any. I am actually excited about this and know i could start a new career and just learning something different in general, which always exiting and a bit nervous. This time i will actually attend the school and my friend will too. We are actually going back this week with our filled out forms and down payment to secure our spot. When i am done with the program i may write another review on how it was. Pretty sure it'll be awesome!! :D
