Koll Center Wetland Park is a great park in the middle of a neighborhood (with businesses on one…read moreside). There isn't an "official" entrance to the park, it's just something you need to know about. My tips for finding an entrance with parking is this: search for Fanno Farmhouse Park on Google and park in the parking lot of one of the many business. The area is full of office type buildings so parking shouldn't be an issue. There is a trail that run by the farmhouse that will take you straight into the Wetlands. Now, when they say wetlands, the truly mean wetlands. If it is raining, you can expect a ton of soggy puddles so stay on the paved trail. The park connects to Greenway Park which boasts a ton of trails as well as a disc golf course so it's a really nice place to go and enjoy the outdoors.

The course was 9 holes, was not too busy for a Saturday afternoon, and is beginner-friendly. The rest of the park is very nice as well! There are multiple paths that make there way around the park, some looping and some being out and back. There are also connecting paths to take you across the road to other parks and areas of Hillsboro. Overall, this park is a very nice, family friendly, park with many things to offer and beautiful walking scenery no matter the season.

It's a lot of space to stroll, and has a kid playground with some fun equipment as well. And of course benches and picnic area. And beyond the bridge is a dog park area. Overall I like this park, very serene and tucked away. Ample parking, some closer some further. I will go back for sure.

Some trails are paved and others are dirt or small gravel, and all were an even surface and well maintained, so it would be doable with a stroller. There were some steep inclines, but they are a short distance and weren't difficult. The trails weave & intersect all throughout the park so you can choose easier paths without inclines if you have limited mobility. The park was very clean when we visited, too.

I was looking for a close by place to take a walk where I hadn't been before and came across this…read moretrail. I'd been to Orenco Woods Park a couple of time and looking at the map, I found a parking area that didn't require me to cross any streets. I'd say this is a hidden gem. While you do walk under the power lines in places, it's a fairly flat trail that's paved and very well maintained. Walking along the creek, you could almost forget you're surrounded by businesses and houses in places. It appears to be a few connected parks along this trail. The orchards park loop seems to be a year round trail to me. Some sections farther north may be hot in the summertime, but I didn't make it up there to check. Overall, a great place to bike, walk and to take the dog. There is a section where there is a frisbee golf course. Nice Job Hillsboro.

I came…read morehere a couple of months ago for disc golf, but there was way more to be discovered here then I had thought. Here's a little bit about Horning's Hideout: = Just Getting Here = Be aware that once you drive off the main road, you'll see the signs to the hideout, but it's all gravel and tall trees from there. From the main sign, the drive heads downward, winding through the forest, down the canyon. Similar to that of driving to Pittock Mansion, only unpaved and narrower turns. So please proceed with caution. Once at the bottom, it opens up to a pleasant little valley. = Parking and Fee = Past the barn, to your right is the parking area. It's an open field. Pay at the parking station, $5 per person. = Features & Activities = * For fishing, I had inquired at the office. Once you park, there is a house or an information office just above the parking station. The lady (or owner) was helpful as she explained to me the lay of the land. Again, this place was way larger than I had imagined. But back to fishing... There is a lake that gets stocked with trout. No fishing license required. Assuming due to this being private land. You do pay a catch/cleaning fee. They also have fly-fishing during the winter through spring season. More details on their website. I did notice they've got paddle boats as well. So, forget the stupid ipad, and keep the kids busy with fishing and paddle boating! * For disc golf, there are three huge courses. One, only being par 3's. Which to me was like a good hike, yet still challenging. A medium course that's par 3's and 4's through the canyon that's said to be scenic. I have yet to try it. And a championship course with par 5's; Difficult greens around trees, and a U-turn. Someday, but not any time soon! * As for the wedding venues, I can only imagine, but there are three venues to use depending on your wedding party size. Can you envision your wedding photos or even your reception being close to a pond, a lake, a creek, or even a waterfall, with trees all around? Yeah, that's this place! Oh yeah, and with peacocks too! * Camping is also allowed as well. Reservations required of course. * And as you can see with the yelp photos, they occasionally have concerts which I though was really cool. Well, that just about sums it up, not sure what else to say. It's just a secluded place worth checking out. Especially if you need to escape some city life.

It had forecasted to rain but luckily it held off until the following day. It would have been a totally different event had it rained. I do wish there was a way of getting around having to walk in gravel but unless they pave it there is no getting around that. So guests were told ahead of time to be aware of that. Different chairs were rented rather than the plastic ones that are provided which was a nice thing. Extra hanging lights were rented and hung up by the brides father. It made a big difference and I think the venue should consider investing in adding them permanently.

We then saw many people come, get seated, order, get served and start eating before we were able to get someones attention. It took basically accosting someone to tell them we exist for some to help us. 40 minutes in, a guy we haven't seen yet comes over and we are finally able to order. About 1 hour and 30 minutes in, we see a girl walking around the area with a tray of food, checking every table except ours (because apparently we're invisible), we flag her down to ask if its our food and sure enough it was. So, we finally get our food. Its mediocre at best, not hot, barely even "warm". We come the Grand Lodge once per month at minimum and the service is usually fine. I dont know how they dropped the ball this bad. I would blame it on it being St. Patty's Day and so they're pretty busy, but that didnt seem to affect anyone else. Just us. I felt personal. The whole experience was severely disappointing and maybe the worst service I've ever had in my life.

The hummus platter had a really nice assortment of flatbread and vegetables, and the tots were exactly what you want: crispy and well-seasoned. We don't get out to Laurelhurst as often as we should; it's one of the best inner city parks that…read morewe have, for myriad reasons: spacious, shaded, plenty of picnic space and open greenway, trails, special events all year round (our favorites being the Water Lantern Festival and Movies in the Park), an off-leash dog area, duck pond, sports courts and fields, and likely a lot more things of which I am aware. It's also seems, to me at least, to be one of only a handful of Portland's "living room" spaces: large enough, and conveniently central enough, to draw in folks from all over the metro area, for any of the reasons mentioned above. It's quite, serene, welcoming...nostalgic, even. A great place to commingle, or isolate, whatever your preference. Portland is blessed with a lot of urban green spaces, but few outside of Forest Park (the G.O.A.T.) can rival the majesty, modesty, and utility of Laurelhurst. It's the sort of place that can make you fall in love with your city all over again.

We were just browsing at the moment and saw that they had a huge collection of board games to look at. I loved their Halloween decorations in the store! One issue we had was when we wanted to check out the TCG section but it is in a separate room with a locked door. We wanted to go in but the employee was busy at the moment so we had to wait several minutes before we could go in. It felt awkward for us as we didn't want to interrupt or rush the employee but after waiting, the employee was kind enough to open the door and let us look around. We got a One Piece pack and while we were purchasing, we were told that they have a rewards program that is free to join so we decided to join that too in case we come back. The prices seem fairly priced so it is definitely a great spot to buy board games or TCGs.
