Got here around 4pm. Were waiting for a few friends, so told the hostess we'll be a few minutes. They took that as "never come back to this table". We then saw many people come, get seated, order, get served and start eating before we were able to get someones attention. It took basically accosting someone to tell them we exist for some to help us. 40 minutes in, a guy we haven't seen yet comes over and we are finally able to order. We had to ask after about 15 minutes if we can have our drinks. About 1 hour and 30 minutes in, we see a girl walking around the area with a tray of food, checking every table except ours (because apparently we're invisible), we flag her down to ask if its our food and sure enough it was. So, we finally get our food. Its mediocre at best, not hot, barely even "warm". We come the Grand Lodge once per month at minimum and the service is usually fine. I dont know how they dropped the ball this bad. I would blame it on it being St. Patty's Day and so they're pretty busy, but that didnt seem to affect anyone else. Just us. I felt personal. The whole experience was severely disappointing and maybe the worst service I've ever had in my life. read more

We stopped by for happy hour with some friends and headed straight for Pat's Corner to grab a spot by the roaring fireplace. The ambiance here is always so cool; I especially love the unique touch of the vintage record album covers attached to the ceiling! The service was friendly and kept the good vibes going. For drinks, I had the Yule Mule, which was perfectly festive and hit the spot for a holiday outing. We shared a few things for the table, including an order of hummus and, of course, the famous Cajun Tots. The hummus platter had a really nice assortment of flatbread and vegetables, and the tots were exactly what you want: crispy and well-seasoned. Whether you're sitting inside by the fire or out on the lawn enjoying the day, it's always such a cozy, reliable spot to catch up with friends. We'll definitely be back! read more

We met our friend here for happy hour that started at 3pm. We snacked on a large basket of Cajun tots and a hummus plate with a good variety of things to nibble on while having a cocktail by the fire. It was chilly and raining so I grabbed the closest seat I could to the fire to keep warm. This is a tiny lil pub and during the warmer months it's a great place to dine outside at one of the picnic tables. Service was good and friendly Food was typical McMenamins fair. We did have the smash burger that was in the happy hour menu and it was pretty tasty and just the perfect size, not too heavy and not too light for pub hopping in the property. read more

Well, I have been here a few times usually eat inside at one of the bars but brought friends from out of town and wanted them to see Pats Cottage. We were greeted immediately and told to sit anywhere outside. I love the ambiance of Pats courtyard which is shaded by trees and shrubs. We chose a table, our server came over to immediately. We ordered a specialty drink off the seasonal menu (contains old crow bourbon), and 2 shots of old crow bourbon neat (Mcmenamins well bourbon). The server came back after a few minutes to tell us they are out of old crow that it will be 15 minutes before they can get more from storage unless we want jack d or Jim B, we chose jack but were disappointed. We then ordered cheese burger sliders and a plate of Cajun tots. We asked if they could add an additional slider to make an even 4. The waitress said absolutely not. The way it came across was rude but then again we are at McMenamins they couldn't care less what my opinion is about service food quality or my dining experience. I only go to McMenamins for their cheese burger sliders because 9/10 times no matter what location you go to. This is their "outside" bar on the property. They often have live music nearby and lots of patio seating. The inside is small and cozy, though a bit unkempt. There's some board games and a fireplace, but you have to ask the staff to add wood to the fire. It gets pretty busy during dinner time,b and the staff seem overwhelmed each time I've been, so I would opt for inside unless you really want to eat outside. The food is being walked over from the inside kitchen anyways. read more

Had to eventually go to the bar to get water and more drinks. Second night, never got any service at table and kept going to bar for water and beer. Pat's is a great place to stop before, during, or after a show at the Forrest Grove Grand Lodge McMenamins. Julie and I stopped after the Watkins at the Glen show and again for drinks before we left the Lodge. At night, the had nice fires to hang out around. Okay the vibe and ambience is the best part of it! I ate indoors since it was a cold winter day and it felt so cozy from the interior design but also the sound of the crackling fire. It also helped that I felt like I was in the tavern from beauty and the beast. The outdoor does have a lot of fire pits which would have been great. The food here was delicious! Me and my partner actually split the mac & cheese and a salad, which was the perfect portions for two people each. It was a nice sunny day and we got to pick which picnic table we got wanted to sit at. Considering it was Mother's Day weekend and a nice sunny day service was pretty fast once we got assigned our waiter, who was excellent! I really enjoyed the fact that we got to sit out in the grassy area, they do have some things like croquet or frisbee out in the lawn to hang out and play. read more

I visited McMenamins Grand Lodge and thought I discovered all the cool spots here. But then I found out I missed this bar! It's up on the second floor, past the movie theater, at the end of the hall. And it's only open for a few days over the weekend. But it's such a cool spot to hang out. It's worth a trek up here. They have a few comfy seats to just hang out, enjoy a fine cocktail, listen to funky music, and share time with friends. The bar tender tonight was top-notch, very knowledgeable and friendly and made a terrific Manhattan. Note: Yelp mistakenly associated this review with Pat's Corner. This such a nice place to have a meal outside. We had about 8 people in our group and took a seat outside on the picnic tables. I wish I could have remembered our waiters name but he really nice. He did a great job serving our beers and food. I ended up ordering the pulled pork sandwich with a salad. The sandwich was not too bad. The salad was good too. I just don't understand how they an charge over $16.00 for a burger or pulled pork sandwich. I mean the food is not the amazing and the portions are not the biggest I have seen. Oh well, that's the way it goes these days. Supply chain issues I guess driving yo the food prices and the service prices. Patio seating here, on a sunny spring day, is just about perfect! My wife and I were able to enjoy a couple drinks in the cool sunshine, surrounded by puppies, the smell of wood smoke, and the always desirable company of, well...each other, of course! Pat's Corner is one of the best outdoor cafes across all of the larger McMenamins properties. It's clean, spacious, has a gorgeous few of the manicured grounds, and a cozy, campground aesthetic. The interior appears to be quite nice as well, but unfortunately, all of our visits to the Grand Lodge have been during COVID-lockdowns and restrictions, or under a smothering blanket of wildfire smoke (yeah, that really happened), so I've never had the pleasure of dining inside. Our server was a young lad whose name I forgot to grab, but he clearly stated that he was in training, although he'd been let off his leash and left to fend for himself, since things were pretty busy. A little timid, perhaps, but his service was on point, and he was polite and knowledgeable about the menu. Our cocktail & Terminator Stout came out in a flash, with my wife's ice cream sandwich hot (well, cold) on their heels. Some people have complained about slow service here before, but that has never been the case in our personal experience. If you're a McMenamins regular, you know what you're going to get when you come here for the most part, as the menu tends not to diverge much across their myriad locations. However, for outdoor dining options, Pat's Corner is among their best. Great for family, kids, pets and couples! read more

Great Great service. Food was very good. Had the dungeon burger while waiting to go to a Tash show. Sat at the bar with Claire and Madison. They get the job done like bosses! The Citrus smash was so delicious and expertly made by Claire. It was busy and those beauties made it look easy. It's far from my home otherwise I'd be here more often. read more

The redeeming factor here is live music, all outside seating, dog friendly. But if I am rating service/food, sadly it's a disappointment (as are most of my mcmenamin dining experiences). Our server was friendly but constantly apologetic. We placed our food order and he said he's come back for my drink order (I'm indecisive) and I didn't see him again for 30 minutes to order a glass of wine. Meanwhile we were brought no napkins, utensils etc. When I asked the difference in the only two red wines he told me he doesn't know wine but could describe the beer. Not even a I'll be back, let me find out for you. He flat out was like nope, I don't know. Then our appetizer came (but still no drinks or utensils). Eventually our drinks came, then the pizza, but no plates (still no napkins or utensils). Eventually we got a few napkins and plates but never utensils (which was no big deal since it's pizza but some people use forks).I asked for red pepper flakes and he said they were all in use so we couldn't have any! I understand we ate here because we were staying at the hotel and didn't want to hop in the car to get something better, but it's frustrating to eat here when it's such a low bar for food quality and service. The pizza was average, the wine was ok. Prices were high. I'm hindsight I would have had dinner somewhere else and just had a drink to enjoy the music/outdoor seating. read more

I loved Pat's Corner this summer.. it was amazing, great food, great drinks, attentive service. First real "Bar" I went to for my 21st. I decided to go back last night during their winter hours. Big mistake. They weren't busy by any means but we didn't even get water refills. It took someone over 10 minutes just to acknowledge us. We sat outside because there was a party/event going on inside (very small in the building). Not once did we get asked if we were comfortable or if they could turn on a heater for us. I had one drink and it took about 10 minutes to receive that. The food, that is usually incredible, was subpar. Very, VERY disappointed and may not go back again. Im really saddened by the experience that my husband and I had here tonight. We had just finished watching a film at the grand lodge theatre (It! It was awesome!) And it was 9:21 pm. We were hungry and my husband noticed pats as we walked to our car. We decided we could get a drink and some quick food before heading home, so we walked up to the door. A brunette server, probably mid twenties early thirties, was near the entrance. I asked her if we should wait to be seated or if we could grab a spot anywhere. She then proceeded to look at her watch and stare up at us for what felt like a million years before saying: "ummm ... yeah okay." We asked if they were closing and she said sharply that yes they close "right at ten". We asked if it was alright if we grabbed something quick since we had 45 minutes and she snapped "YES I JUST CHECKED DIDN'T I". We then decided to leave. I'm a server bartender and I've worked all over town. It's silly to turn down money nearly an hour before closing and it only perpetuates the rumor of mcmenamins legendary crappy service to employ servers with this attitude. So after being denied seating from the grand lodge, we got forced to eat here at pats corner. First off, it's a seat yourself place so don't look for a hostess. We got there before the dinner rush, we had a party of 6 & 2 babies. None of these people wear name tags so I can't point out anyone in specific but it doesn't matter when there's like 7 employees running around 20 tables and no one can get their sh*t together. Our server was slow as hell, and I mean we didn't get our water until 15 minutes of sitting. We ordered drinks which I didn't get mine until 15 minutes after that, my sister ordered an ice tea but never got it. (Btw they don't serve hot tea here, that's what our server told us). They don't have the same menu as other mcmenamins, like no beer flight selections for happy hour. Just standard 6 beers they have on tap. Smaller eating selections. In my grand lodge review I also mentioned that it was cold this day so we were freezing outside and trying to figure out the heaters because our server said he was going to "take care of it" but never did. So we asked another employee to help us but she just threw some attitude saying we're gonna have to wait because the propane doesn't work? And they're gonna turn it on soon. Like ok?? When it's been about 40 minutes since we sat down and we asked to turn it on right when we got here. They eventually turned 1 out of the 3 around us on. Then went about ignoring us again. Our food came out all at 1 time, which was ok. Nothing different or better than other locations. We asked the food runner to give us ketchup which he gave us practically and empty bottle.. lol... Oh and our sever never gave us napkins or silverware. We had to ask him to bring some out for us. The tables were covered in pollen, they don't clean it up for you. They dont preview tables or pick up any trash in your way, they're hella slow to do anything but print the check. This whole place is a fcking joke, and I for sure won't be back. read more

Generally a fan of McMenamins and frequent various locations often. Imagine my utter surprise (/sarcasm) when I got the worst service yet* at last night's visit. I was there with a huge group, and even though we tried to coordinate it with the staff in advance, they assigned us only one very grumpy and overworked server. (We were 20+ if not maybe near 30 in numbers. Umm...) I mean that guy clearly hated his job to the extent that it made our group uncomfortable... There was a lot of frowning, eye rolling, generally being unhelpful... Yikes, dude. Ask for help, or walk off the job, or something. The scoop: it took ages to get my order in, we never got water until we cornered a guy bussing tables who agreed after our SECOND attempt to bring us a pitcher with glasses... ugh. When I first arrived and met my group I was told to order at the bar. The bar served me a drink but told me to go outside to see a server for food. I asked to open a tab but combine my drink and food orders. There was confusion when closing about what my total was and, naturally, it took an extra long time to sort it out since - you guessed it, they hadn't combined my tab or some such nonsense. Granted there were two weddings going on at both ends of the grassy areas, but weddings are usually booked pretty far in advance, which makes me think that A) this crew should've been prepared and well staffed and B) ...no, that's it. Pat's Corner should've been well staffed and coordinated for a busy summer evening to ensure ALL guests are comfortable and happy. It's appalling that the powers that be left this solitary server to flounder. To top things off, they didn't have one of my favorite seasonals that I can get around the corner from my house, (this was a 45 minute drive for me to attend this event) and, they ran out of ruby - in the entire place. How is that even possible? As for foodstuffs, I got a slice of pizza which is obviously made en masse for the bar and generally completely unappetizing. It was so greasy I had to ask for napkins (because we were given none...) just to sop up the *puddles* of grease on my pizza. Like, wow. I've had better pizza at other locations for sure. This reminded me of the crap you get at an arcade/putt putt golf place. The outdoor menu sucked and was extremely limiting. Blech. *For any newbs/non locals, McMenamins is a bit notorious for mediocre service, food, blah blah. I *really* hate to give poor reviews but this one was unfortunately earned. Second star given for the truly lovely outdoor seating and fire pits, and the tiny but quaint bar at Pat's Corner. Such wow. Much ambiance. read more

For being super busy, (looked like 3 weddings and a movie going on in the lawn, and a large party of like 30 seated behind us!) They seated us right away and we actually had two waiters helping us... again, super busy... I don't care who helps us, as long as we get our food! My only complaint was that we were there for our Passport hunt we missed Ruby Spa by less than 20 minutes before they closed.. and we couldn't play disc golf, but I'm not holding that against them (I imagine if a bride got nailed by a Frisbee then it would render undesirable results). So when you visit any McMenamins you generally know the service is going to be slow, I speak from experience of visiting no less than a dozen of their locations. However my last visit to Pat's Corner I was quite surprised by the improved service and friendliness of the staff. Not meaning to disrespect McMenamins but honestly the service across the board is slow. With that said I will still continue to drop and drink a Ruby or a Three Rocks Spiced Rum while waiting for my order of Cajun tots to arrive. read more

I was there the first time traveling through and the service was adequate. On drive back a week later the service was poor at best. Took 5 minutes before we were noticed. Beer was another 10 minutes and came with no head. The place was only 15% full. Then staff decided to start a fire in pit using napkins and squirting some liquid on the fire. The smoke was all over. No safety protocol used. 3 to get it going but no one noticed we had to move seats. Food came cold. Guess they were too worried about the fire and not us the guests. Painfully slow service. Took ~50 minutes to get a tray of tater tots. They blast their music inside. You don't see your server or talk to them for the most part, I had ONE good experience here that's it. Would recommend ordering takeout, the only good thing here is the food, might as well wait 50 minutes in the pleasure of your own home. In the 1.5 hours there, we saw our server 3 times. 1-to take order, 2- flagged someone down to get another beer, more food and more water. 3- to pay our check... After a 45 minute wait on our food, we asked the waiter whose first comment was 'I'm entering your order now'. He then changes it to, I'm checking on your order now. So did he forget?? After over an hour, we just left. We tried to pay for our sodas, but were told no need to. No apologies for the lack of food and screw up. I won't bother to return.
