Awesome experience with Guardian Sleep. Had trouble sourcing a replacement BiPAP from another area supplier and decided to give Guardian a try. Wow! Night and day difference in terms of customer engagement and willingness to take on the business. Spoke a couple of times with Wendy, who quickly understood what I needed and offered to reach out to my doctor's office to get the correct prescription. Wendy also advised on the steps involved with insurance, about how long each step would take and my out of pocket share of the cost. Wendy took care of things and very quickly I was at their San Jose offices to pick up my unit. Wendy handled the paperwork with aplomb and a great attitude! Then I spend a bit of time with Rachel, who was very intuitive about what things needed explaining and what parts I already knew. She listened carefully and quickly addressed my concerns. Guardian was ok prior to them laying off staff and going to AI model of care. It sucks. Every year after my doctor renews my prescription the programming on machine goes crazy...every year! I had a 10:00 am appointment on 7/7 and someone at that place booked another person at 10 am. by mistake and got admitted before me. I was even there at 9:50 am and waited until 10:25 am. I left that place at 10:30 am because I had an appointment to catch at 11:00 am . The people there should communicate better to avoid this kind of discrepancy in the future. They will harass you like a telemarketer After finding their services and prices for medical equipment overpriced, I started shopping online instead for the same products for cheaper Multiple times I contacted this business asking to be put on the do not contact list and multiple times they said they did. I used to get multiple calls from different people in the same office daily. I also got unwanted text and emails every single day. They are obnoxious. Because they would not respect my request to not be contacted. I ended up having to block incoming emails, calls, and texts from them. Save yourself the frustration of having to deal being contacted from an over priced telemarketer that values profit and harassment of people over providing good customer service that respects their ex customers wishes to be left alone. read more

COUNT YOUR PILLOWS! I realize the next day that the fraud goes even further. I was charged for a pillow/cushion that I didn't receive. Billing department told me it is normal to bill for an extra that you don't receive. With the regards to the pillows/cushions that had been removed items without my consent or knowledge, they denied those existed then later agreed to let me pick those up. read more

I just looked at the reviews, and can not understand any review under a 5 I have dealt with most of the staff and have only positive comments about every one. I have been using a CPAP machine for about 20 years, and this is the best company I have had the pleasure to work with. On a scale of 1-5 they are a 6. Last visit they fixed my machine for free. Free is not spoken today's world, and the problem turned out to be me. I guess age is catching up with me. read more

Unfortunately I have to agree with the negative reviews below. Very scammy business... - I was told they got pre-auth and my co-pay would not be more than $200 - Got a bill for $1385 - Then they said they made a mistake and they would reduce it to $186 - No more bills received from them - My insurance said I should not owe them anything more than $20 - Randomly got a call from them saying they would send me to collections since I was overdue in less than a week Totally shocked at the state of some of these healthcare businesses. We own a clinic, so we know how insurances and pre-auth work around here. I will be reporting this to my surgeon in the hope that no more referrals are sent here. read more

Guardian is a good example of how healthcare and business seeking to maximize profits do not mix. I had a prescription ftom a sleep specialist for a cpap. They directed me to guardian, where I picked up my CPAP and had a little tutorial. Even with top of the line insurance, they charged me over $800. When I tried to use it, I realized that the design of the thing that goes under the nose was a horrible (and cheap) design. Two holes cut in a silicine tube that must be aligned to both nostrils. No nose pillows. If the tube shifts a little bit when you are sleeping, it blockd both nostrils and you wake up suddenly in a panic , not being able to breathe through your mouth if you have mouth tape or use the jaw strap. I put it away for a few weeks. Then I started to get frequent calls from guardian. Why? It was time for me to buy replacement parts! Not only do they maje money on the box (my guess is they make at least 80% gross margin) , but then they make money on the 'spares'. The razor blade model. When I told them I needed nose pillows, they said that I had to come in for a 'fitting' which was not free. I explained to them that they sold me a product that was not usable - it should be under warranty. Nope! I would have to pay. . I asked for a refund on the box - Nope! No refunds ok n their crappy product that didn't work. I was so disgusted with this predatory behavior that I told them that they would never see another dime from me. I will try to sell the box on ebay. So, the specialist sends you to Guardian - no options for another supplier- you pay $800 for a terrible product that doesn't work and they try to soak you for more money for a faulty profuct. And no returns. Such and disregard for their customers. guardian knows how to work our hortible health care system. Is it any wonder that we have the most expensive health care in the world with people like this running the show? If any doctor tries to send you to guardian for a cpap, you should insist on going to another supplier-. This company is enjoying a sweetheart deal with the health care provider where they rip people off at the expense of the health of their customers health. Nice, huh? read more

Do Not use this company! WE PAID UPFRONT AND THEN THEY BILLED MY INSURANCE COMPANY!! They are very deceptive in their practices. My husband was asked to pay up front for his C-pap machine to a tune of $926.06. Our insurance had already approved the device and as an in-network provider, Guardian was NOT supposed to charge us. I contacted Guardian and they agreed to refund only $526.06 and said I needed to wait 10 months (based on usage) to get the balance. After 10 months they refused the reimbursement and told me to get it from my insurance company. My insurance has paid them all along and Guardian denies they received the money and that they will NOT reimburse us the remaining $400.00 until the insurance pays them. Guardian has now been paid twice!!! read more

Save yourself a nightmare and don't use this company. They have routinely given me bad information. So much so that my social worker started calling on my behalf and she too was given bad information. I changed 23 doctors and 40 medications to a new insurance AFTER verifying with all providers they took it. Guardian Sleep said they did but after I made the change now they say they don't and they want the CPAP machine back. A CPAP machine that I will own, rather than rent, in only a few months. I scheduled my entire move out of California based on that machine. Funny, they take weeks to get back to me but the second they thought they wouldn't get paid they called me obsessively. Not being helpful is one thing. Causing issues that put someone's health and life in jeopardy is another. Avoid this place and go ANYWHERE ELSE. Seriously. ANYWHERE else. So now all my other providers have to do all the paperwork to switch me back to the old insurance and all the meds I need to KEEP ME ALIVE are on hold until I can pay cash because my insurance won't revert back until April 1. read more

Was assigned here by my doctor. if I lived in a vacuum, they'd be ok. But I have friends that go elsewhere. a.) they expect me to drive to their location to pickup the various sleep consumables (30 minutes each way) and b.) this even went for my SD card for compliance because they gave me an Airsense 10 instead of 11 (which could have simply sent it via network), despite the latter being at other places, and my insurance being perfectly happy to pay for it. I called Guardian sleep to explain and for 3 nights of wearing a small device while I sleep at home; they are charging for 3 weeks. Something to do with their system the guy says. Would be five stars but for the fact that getting a fitting appointment required me to keep following up even though I was told they would call me. Once I got there, it was excellent. I was having difficulty with two different types of masks from previous providers. Chris was great in trying alternatives with me and making sure that I was pleased. No rushing me in and out. Unprofessional and inaccurate. I was referred to Guardian Sleep by my doctor's office. When the order was ready to be fulfilled, I was contacted. Everything is fantastic to this point. I was quoted my part of the equipment as $X. When I go for the consultation and fitting, I'm required to sign an acknowledgement that my part will be 150% of $X. I was told my insurance requires a rental for 10 months and the rental will bridge two deductible periods, therefore, I'll end up paying an additional deductible in Jan 2023. That increased my responsibility to 150% of what I was quoted. I disputed this and refused to sign. I took the equipment ( 4 month backlog on getting an order filled) conditionally on getting this issue resolved. I called my insurer. I was told they will authorize a purchase. I notified Guardian. I was promised a call the next day. No call that day, or the next business day, or the next business day. When I called Guardian, I was told they know the insurer's policy and that they will not call to straighten it out. I returned the equipment in full and untouched the next day. I was told a credit would be processed but it may take several days to post. That was over a month ago. I'm now trying to chase a credit of nearly $1K. Unprofessional and inaccurate. BTW- I spoke with my insurer again. A purchase contract over the same 10 months (which is required), would not result in a 2x deductible. I have contracted with another company who understands this. As a result of Guardian's unprofessional and inaccurate "service", my treatment will be delayed by at least four months. read more

Their associates have all given me and my doctor's office conflicting information over a period of several months. So they are either liars or extremely incompetent. I got my CPAP machine here. Jessica spent an hour showing me how it works, fitting my mask, and patiently answering all my questions. I went back a week later to get fitted for a different style mask, and she was very concerned to get a mask that worked the best for me, which definitely increased the odds of me regularly using it.
