Very satisfied customer. I brought my wheelchair in because the seat/sling had developed a tear in the middle where the chair folds. I showed the gentleman what I needed, he said he'd order it and install it for me. I called a week later to find out the part had come in, and I scheduled an appointment to have it put on. The installation took less than 30 minutes, I was charged a fair rate and everything works well. Kinda bummed they didn't proactively call me to let me know the part was in, but oh well. I called around 5 times, and each time was a different excuse - "they're back-ordered", "they're supposed to come in tomorrow", "not yet try again in a few days". After a month of this run-around, I requested a refund on my VISA card for the $130 that I paid up-front. Got it! Medical bed delivered on scheduled day MINUS some parts. Bed was in fine working order. Parts delivered and installed a week later. Overall, good experience. I only have a couple of issues with the bed manufacturer. 1. Why put the remote cord where the person needs to get in and out of bed? We had to rerun cords with zip ties. The original cords could have been pinched in the mechanism too. 2. Make sure all parts are shipped. When you pay 4K plus on a bed you expect it to be engineered and packaged properly. Not the fault of Bischoffs. Dave, the owner, took care of the parts issue right away. He was courteous and professional. I highly recommend Bischoffs. read more

I would describe this store as warm encouragement to aging gracefully. This isn't a chain, it's a family run incredibly stocked emporium to assist us in living longer and more comfortably. Angie, the self-proclaimed "worker-bee," carefully measured my mom's legs for the exactly-right compression socks. Angie wanted the fit to be exactly right and it was. Bischoff's is for all ages. I recently had a need to rent a wheelchair for my son. Dave, the manager, and his staff did a wonderful job for me. Dave listened to my needs and was able to come up with a wheelchair that met my requirements. Due to my son's situation, the one he recommended though worked but was too big. After listening to my disappointment, he bought a brand new wheelchair that met my son's needs and rent it to me without raising the cost! Dave is also a problem solver. He listened to my issues and solve them all for me. His customer-first attitude is really appreciated! They are very knowledgable and helpful here. They have a relatively large showroom, compared with most places in the bay area, with most models they have for sale available in the showroom to try. They only carry 2 brands of Scooters/Power Chairs: Pride & Golden Technologies (but these are good, reliable brands with wide range of models). They also do repairs here. They will also rent and deliver scooters/power chairs on a weekly or monthly basis. They also sell comfy reclining/lift chairs w/massage! BETTER THAN La-Z-Boy in my opinion, because I am shorter (5'6") with short legs and La-Z-Boy chairs are too big n tall for me. read more

I messaged the business twice thro their website and never got a respons, so I went to the office. I was met by a woman who was less than helpful. At first she said "I don't know if we can help you" but when the technician came out he was more accommodating. As the tech took my chair back to his office the woman said "If he works on it for 15 minutes or less it's $30." What?! I have no problem paying for service but you need to quote the charge before you take my chair away. The woman is very rude and unprofessional. She actually said "It's a good thing you came in when you did, otherwise he'd be out in the field." Technician: 10/10. Office woman: 0/10. read more

I think when people read my review about Bischoff's, and I tried to express myself I did it wrong. What I meant was that I had to drive from the north bay to the south peninsula to actually find a store that was worthy! Bischoff's, is that good! I had to wait to get a ride and even though it was months later Mr. Bischoff, fixed my walker which run's perfectly by the way! It is very expensive in Marin county and they find it hard to even get clerks to drive there to man the stores. With the price of rents,gas, electricity etc. it's very hard. I needed a wheelchair for an elderly relative who was coming to my daughter's graduation. We were all from out of town, so I didn't know where to turn. Yelp guided me to Bischoff's, and then the team at Bischoff's guided through my needs and recommended a specific chair (a transport chair). When I got to the shop, they didn't have any, so they rented me a brand new chair. Not only did they have a wide selection that I was encouraged to try, the gentleman helping me put together another walker that he thought would fit better for me and my budget. He was right. Just responding to Rusty's follow up after my review back in the summer. Yes, I am probably the first in 40 years to come in with a unique need such as trying the walker out on cement. I am able to teach yoga and hike a mile but unable to carry a glass of water 5 feet without spilling it. Wiggly hands are very rare and unfortunately your staff was unable to listen to my needs. Not being able to try a walker on cement means my wiggly hands were no concern of your staff. They assumed things about me just by my looks. It is very traumatic for me when people do so. Makes me feel unworthy and unimportant. I'm sure you'll do better next time. read more

I am writing this review on behalf of my parents who are getting a Stairlift installed in their home. We haven't been to their store, so this review is only for their Stairlift custom installation service. Rusty Bischoff has been amazing so far! He was very punctual arriving at our home for a consultation and very meticulously explained the process of the installation as well as how the actual Stairlift functions. After we decided to go with Bischoff's for the installation, he came by again to get the paperwork signed and to take measurements. He was very attentive to our needs for this project. Within 2 weeks of signing the paperwork, Rusty has already gotten back to us with the customized Stairlift plan drawings! He works so quickly, which we seriously appreciate! When we called him with a question on a different day, we actually received a call back within half an hour!! This project is progressing extremely well, and we are extremely satisfied with the service we have gotten so far. We're really excited to get the Stairlift installed and working and will update this review after the installation is completely finished. :) It seems the project may be finished sooner than expected! read more

I am responding to your reply to my daughter who wrote about my visit. We started out fine and then you sales associate insisted that I stay seated when I wanted to get up and pay for my purchase before I knew if it was going to work out. Then I wanted to try out a walker and went to grab it and your sales associate said stop. When You have involuntary movements like mine it effects overall movement. I have a very unusual physical situation and people assume I can't do things. I am very sorry that I over reacted but they did not even offer me a cane when leaving my walker with them to work on. I stubbled to the car. When I returned a few hours later I thanked them for putting the balls on and I needed to make sure it was going to work on cement. I was told I couldn't go outside to try it out. You only provide carpeting in your store and being on cement feels very different especially when you have wiggly hands. Your sales associate was whispering about me and I have never felt so embarrassed. I get the impression that you are not interested in making sure the equipment is safe and functional for the customer. Obviously you are not equipped to serve individuals with unique situations. I will go elsewhere. You may want to invest in a disability awareness training for those staff members. When I purchased the walker eight months ago I had fantastic customer service. read more

I removed my previous review and adding a brand new one since after my 1-star review, Rusty reached out and took his stairlift back as he offered in the buy back policy he outlined to us when we purchased the stairlift. Too bad he decided to buy back the stairlift after one whole year and that was only after I wrote a 1-star review describing my experience. Had I known Rusty will give us such a hard time by ignoring us for one year and suddenly be willing to honor his policy he sold us on but only after I write a 1-star review, I would have written my review & given my feedback on yelp long back instead of waiting that long. In such a situation I really am grateful to yelp for providing such a platform for customers to voice their feedback. Had I not written about my experience here, I doubt this business would have ever gotten back to me, so thank you yelp. After all the pain & one year wait we went through, at least we are glad that at the end of the day Rusty honored his policy so my experience working with them was about ok. David helped me. I am about halfway through my recovery from a very serious skin infection; in the past my feet and legs had swollen to the point that the 911 med team was concerned I had congestive heart failure and sent me to the emergency room. David walked me through the options for compression garments and explained how to put on and remove such. He first helped me with the more serious leg, then I did the other one per his instructions. This was a few hours ago now. There are also aftercare services available, but I have not sampled the options yet. What I can say is that David was helpful and informative; I really appreciated his efforts and can recommend Bishoff's for compression garment needs. read more

This place is fine for diapers, compression socks, and maybe a walker. But I wouldn't recommend them for your mobility vehicle repairs. I spent several hundred dollars on batteries and "technician hours" that priced worthless. I was continuously promised additional support but once they got paid the support dried up. As for me I wouldn't buy a band aid from Bischoff's. read more

I had two broken ankles and needed my outside lift in order to leave the hospital after 8 weeks. Our home is up 15 stairs and I could not make it up without the lift. At first they were very professional and would accomodate you in any way. I ordered my lift 2 weeks before getting out of the hospital. I was told they could not promise to get it installed on the day I needed it, but that it would be only a few days after. This did not happen. The sales Rep said they could install a used lift until mine came in but I would have to pay extra money to have an installer come out and install the used one because they did not receive my lift on time. I have been home for two weeks and still do not have my lift. I call them and email them and they blame it on the shipping companies. They take no responsibility to help you when you are at their mercy, however they have no problem taking your money and charging you extra because they did not get the lift delivered. I am still waiting and get lots of excuses. Promises, promises. I cannot even recommend their product as I am a month waiting. But, I would not recommend their professionalism and how they deal with your order. Once they have your money their attitude is we are doing what we can, which is no help to you. I would check out other companies if I were to do it again, smooth talk is usually just what it is SMOOTH but no help for you. Buyer beware! read more
