Stay away from this business if you don't want to get upsell, quoted inflated prices and falsely claiming that your insurance won't cover for certain things so that they can charge you for it. Yes, that happened to me! I had to call my insurance to double check on what they said. And sure enough I demanded a refund for something I wasn't supposed to be charged for. Watch out for this place and make sure you know your coverage. They are crooks. Report them in for fraud! They lied and were very dishonest with telling you what your insurance coverage, every time! Happened 2 times when I ordered my glasses. So it's not an isolated incident. From other reviews, they seem to do it a lot. They were so concerned with selling me all the fancy upgrades, they forgot what I really wanted and then end up giving me the wrong order. They decided for me what I ordered, and then denied their mistakes and said that was what I ordered. They don't have integrity or have the decency to own up to their mistakes and do the right thing. All they care is about money and want to charge me more to redo the order that they screwed up on. The worst customers service I have ever dealt with. My family and I have been going to this office for a few years now. We get our annual eye exams done here. We also get our glasses from this place. They make bold promises when they are selling stuff to you, but when it comes to servicing what they have sold, it's all empty! My glasses seem to have lost their anti-glare capability quite soon after purchasing. When I reached out to them to have these examined and potentially corrected, they said it's a $50 processing fee for them to check and send these back in case of a manufacturing defect. Mind it that when they were selling me the glasses they said for a year everything is covered, in case of any scratches or any issues I can get free repairs, but now they say if the glasses have any scratch on them then they are not covered for anti-glare! This was my first and last time here. I gave them business because I live near them and they had a frame I wanted. I had my eye exam here after I decided on getting my frame here to make it convenient, but that was a big mistake altogether. After my eye exam, the doctor didn't communicate with the front staff (or had my prescription wrong) because they had ordered me the wrong prescription. I couldn't see through my new glasses at all. Also, the front staff were not knowlegeable and only tried to upsell me on all these extra stuff. I ended up with a pair of glasses I can't use, can't see with it, everything is blurry. They wanted $50 more from me just to fix their mistake (for processing fee they said). Why should I have to fork out more money instead of them doing the right thing? I'm going to get a second eye exam and a second opinion, because my prescription is not correct, nor was my glasses lenses. They also didn't bother to call or notify me when my glasses were ready. They said 2 weeks, and I waited a month...only when I contacted them was when I found out that my "useless" glasses were ready. Is so suspicious how they proceed with the medical coverage and with the prices. They asked me $500 for the same kids glasses I got for $80 at COSTCO. BE CAREFUL!!!!! Don't trust this people. I will explain way. This is long but in case you want to know why. I bring my 3 kids here. My daughter needed glasses and the others just came to take the tests but they have good sight. The optometrist is a woman Han Le Djuong, she said that my daughter glasses were not covered by her insurance and she said I had to pay $500 for them, it was the first time for me dealing with glasses so I said ok. she said that my other kids glasses were covered by the medical we have and that they were just to protect them from the screens and to read. I said I wanted to ask my husband first about the price ($500) and they said it was ok but it would be very difficult to find same kind of glasses, later one of the girls at the desk gave me the glasses of the other kids, those covered by medical with screen protection and to read and told me I can take them that day home, I ask her twice if we can take my kids glasses and she said yes, So we took them home. Later someone called me saying my kids took the glasses they were not supposed to take and that I have to return them that same day, and as soon as possible because they were almost to close. I said I would go the next day, They called me again and send me a text message...when I arrived the girl at the desk was so rude saying that I was not supposed to take those glasses, I explain to her that the other girl gave them to me, and I felt so upset since she was saying I took them even if they said no. They said they will take two months to make those two pair of glasses covered by medical and with screen protection for my two kids and of course I just bring my daughter to COSTCO and got hers for just $80 not for $500 as in this place wanted me to pay. Today I went to pick up my kids glasses here at Clear Sight those covered by medical and wow!!! The girl at the desk said they had not screen protector as before they said since medical doesn't covered it and that they have just the plastic since medical doesn't covered anything else. So why did they said before that the glasses will have screen protection and now that I bought my daughter glasses at COSTCO and not with them suddenly they said that the other glasses doesn't have screen protection. Also so weird that they ask me to sign the receipt with the paper folded and when I wanted to read it and start asking the girl at the desk just take the paper quickly out of my sight. I read it quickly but I couldn't check what do they actually are charging to medical. So be careful with this place. read more

Selection the right optometrist is always going to be hard since you can't keep switching from one to another after your exam because it will cost money. I accidentally made an appt here thinking it was my optometry. Luckily I was able to book one same day and last shift. Everyone know the last appointment isn't treated as "the best" as everyone wants to go home. Nope not this one. The staff was very friend and helpful from the beginning to the end. The optometrist took her time with me to make sure I got both exam for glasses and contacts. In the end, I was very happy I accidentally called this place. Overall, I will come here again. I would have given 5 star in terms of vision check. I purchased glasses online eyeconic and the vision sharpness is good but the edges of a laptop screen looks trapezoid instead of rectangle. I asked them whether they can check the prescription on the glass and they said that they don't want to touch it since I didn't get the glasses with them. Rechecked my vision again with the doctor, no issues with that. Eyeconic asked me to check with doctor and add PD to the prescription and they gave the number but didn't add in the prescription saying that I didn't pay for the service and typically PD is measured from the place we get the glass. Update: The team got back to me and addressed my PD review in a good way. They requested me to get back to check the PD and gave an updated PD in no time. I appreciate their help. This is an overdue review as my family have been seeing Dr. Duong since she first opened. I highly recommended this place to my friends and family. The place is clean and tons of selections especially for those with smaller nose bridge. There is also good selection for kids that fits smaller frame. The receptionist, Diana, has great patience and customer service. She is able to handle multiple customers with courtesy and efficiently. Diana is very helpful when I have questions regarding insurance coverage. They are very accommodating on schedule and plenty of reminders since we are always busy. Dr. Duong is professional and patient especially with kids. My kids (3 & 4) have been going here since they were 1 and 2 and have never had any issues with Dr. Duong. They were scared in the beginning but Dr. Duong was patient. She allowed them time to warm up and be comfortable with the equipments prior to starting the exam. The optometrist herself seemed competent and didnt have any direct issues with her, but her staff is always unaware. Everytime I call they clearly dont know what to say since they keep having to put me on hold for a momenet to obviously consult with the optometrist. Ive literally seen them do this in person too. I wanted a Sat appointment due to their weekday hours conflicting with my new work schedule. The second to last receptionist informed me that they do normally have Sat appointments but not for what I would normally be going in for. Since it was only the beginning portion of the process, they said it would be fine for now. Well unfortunately something came up and I called less then an hour after the appointment, since I was tied up, to reschedule.The most recent receptionist clearly didnt know what to say because she kept trying to schedule for a weekday and I kept saying it had to be a Saturday. So when she said this Saturday is booked, I asked for the following one...She made the uh sound and responded with that's also book. Then I said well Whens your next Saturday appointment......and she responded the same way" uh that's also booked" word for word. There is no way she has every future Saturday booked when I had just acheduled that onr that week and the receptionist before informed me they were all open. Clearly she was trying to avoid adding one for Saturday. She could have just been up front that the optometrist didnt want to book specialty appointments on the weekend instead of being so rude and lying to my face. I had gone to this optometrist for years and already was aware of the scheduling issues that I always had to work around when able. I only continue to go since I was comfortable with her and didnt want to restart the whole process. I would steer clear of this place especially if you have medi-cal. I lost insurance got medi-cal and went here because they took it. Well thank god it was free because I now have to pay to go back to old Dr. When I did my eye exam it took 8+ tries for assistant girl to get machine to work. Something seemed off. Doctor was ok though gave me new prescription. Picked out glasses blindly off what they recommended which ended up being womans glasses lol. I dont expect much for free but they're so thick lol. Didn't care because I always buy same cheap clear glasses online that I like last 3-4 years zero problems. This year, problem. Cant focus, have to squint my eyes when reading. Was going back and forth for a month with an employee who tried everything to avoid just rechecking my eyes named Stephen. Now he doesn't work there any more. Literally 5 minute eye exam fixes problem. They had me come in adjust my glasses thought weren't sitting on face correctly. Blah blah blah even after I told them it's same even on glasses I ordered from other company. They wont give me new prescription and recheck my eyes. Wanted $159. It was my first time coming to Clearsight Optometry. I searched on Yelp and looked for a high rating Optometry near my house. I didn't plan to purchase at all. I just wanted to look around and get an idea what frames and lens that could fit me and my budget. I have to say, I love Clearsight Optometry at my first visit. Super clean office, smell nice, great service, the staff is well trained and very professional. Dr Han Duong even came out to meet and greet. She even walked around with me looking at tons of selections, helped me to choose frames and gave me lots of suggestions and ensure I was satisfied and looking good as well. She put me first. She even brought her frames out that she was planning to use and asked me to try them on. And guess what, I ended up going with the frames that she recommended. So she and I now have the same frames. I felt very special already. I picked up my glasses within a week. I was so excited like little kid saw candies. The staff made sure the glasses fit me well, great customer service and very patience. New optometry office in South San Jose! This office is so pretty, reminds me of a clothing boutique store. Dr. Han and staff are amazing! Front staff, Diana, is very friendly and professional. Best. Eye. Doctor. Ever. Dr. Han walks you through all the procedures and is very thorough with her examinations. She uses all the latest technology and makes sure you are comfortable with each test or procedure before moving on; she doesn't rush through and makes sure all your questions/concerns are addressed. She's super nice, knowledgeable, and caring. She follows up and makes sure you are satisfied and vision is great. I don't realize how blind I am after I come out seeing so many things better lol. ClearSight was recommended by a friend of mine as it was close to our house, new and took our insurance. I called a few days in advance for an appt for my daughter on Saturday and got an appt around the time I wanted. She got some information from me and was able to pull up my insurance coverage quite quick to give me the copay and frame coverage of my insurance. The office is a few months new. Everything is clean and organized. My 15yr old has never got her eyes fully checked like this before so she was a bit nervous. Dr Han explained what she was going to do before doing it and put my daughter at ease, that was appreciated. They have a good selection of frames to pick from, from no name to brand name frames. They also have some kids sizes. The process for my daughter was so seamless and quick, I made an appt for myself later in the day and was accommodated as well. Decided to visit this optometry office because of convenience since it's located within walking distance of my work place and was in need of purchasing glasses. I walked in on a Thursday night after 6pm since they closed at 7. I'm fond of businesses who stay open later because of my work schedule. Although I was greeted by the receptionist, I had to wait a substantial amount of time to be assisted. The employee who called me over, didn't introduce herself, seemed unhappy to be there and kept asking questions that only my insurance provider would know in a condescending tone of voice. As a result of how late in the day it was, she was not able to call the insurance company nor offered to call the following business day during working hours. I personally wouldn't return because of the poor customer service but great frame selection, clean inside and outside, located in a great shopping area. Came in for prescription safety glasses for work and was quoted about 1-2 months turn around. 3 months pass with no callback so I decide to call them to get a status on my glasses and they told me that my glasses had come in 3 weeks after my initial visit. They claimed to have called me but I didn't receive a single call, text, voicemail or email from them for a whole two months. If I had not reached out to them, I would probably not have gotten my glasses at all. Would not recommend to friends or family. read more
