During my first night in Florence I had dinner at Gucci Osteria and opted for the à la carte menu. The timeless cocktail was sensational omg. One of the best cocktails I've had in a long time. So smooth. The ice even had Gucci imprinted on it (I'm such a tourist). The turbot was OUT OF THIS WORLD! Their infamous spaghetti with almond and pistachio was just okay. I topped it off with La gola for dessert which was amazing as well (not too sweet but still satisfying for a chocolate lover). In true Italian hospitality, I wasn't rushed and everything was explained beautifully. Multiple hosts catering to my every need. This Michelin star restaurant sits right next to the Gucci museum and is perfect for an elegant yet intentional dinner.

We had Gucci Osteria pretty high up on our dining list when making our Florence itinerary but after hearing some mixed reviews we opted to go for lunch instead of dinner. As expected, the interiors are pretty fabulous and the service and food ended up being great as well. We opted to order off the a la carte menu in lieu of doing the tasting menu which felt like it would be too heavy for lunch. Favorites were the pistachio spaghetti and the Journey to Modern tortellini which was absolutely incredible. Highly recommend and would also add that you should leave time to do some shopping and see the gucci museum upstairs!

They say you'll always remember your first Michelin experience -- and I absolutely will. Stepping off the bustling Piazza Signoria and into Osteria Gucci felt like entering another world. The service was flawless from the very first moment -- warm, welcoming, and effortlessly refined. They seated me at the best table in the house without knowing it was my birthday, and the entire experience felt like it was crafted just for me. The chef, Massimo Bottara, holds 3 Michelin stars, and every detail showed it -- from the artistry of each dish to the perfect balance of flavors. I thanked them for an exceptional birthday experience as I left and the host scrambled to the back to bring me a gift - completely unnecessary, but very charming as the whole experience. It was more than just a meal; it was a memory I'll treasure forever. If you're ever in Florence and want to experience true culinary excellence, this is the place.

I thought the Gucci portion was a gimmick but was pleasantly surprised to be wrong. Food quality and service was excellent. The starters that were included were small and tasty with the watermelon ice, bread sticks, and espresso imitation soup. We got 2 courses and thought it would be light, but it is insanely filling! The spaghetti and tortellini combined was already way too much food. Both were excellent texture and taste. The beef with caviar seemed small but was very filling. The fish with chips on top was very large in size. There is no way we could have finished 3 each! The bread they bring out was piping hot. Just perfect with olive oil. All in all, great service and food.

Amazing dining experience from the atmosphere, the service (I believe we had 6 or 8 servers), the fun play on norms with the courses. The atmosphere is very beautiful, like an elegant parlor. A place where you can sit and enjoy but the food is the star. Staff was well trained and well versed in the menu items as well as the whimsy that comes across in the food. The food was amazing. From welcome course to final final course. A delicious experience. For example, in the second desert course, the meringues all taste different and have different consistencies and the pool of raspberry and cassis is just amazing with the chestnut and toasted meringue. An out of this world experience.

Customer service here is phenomenal! And yes, if you're expecting to have an exceptional dining experience in a Gucci way. You do! As much as I tried to remember everything I ate - I really couldn't. I'll admit some things I loved more than others. That being said - I'd recommend going. I took plenty of pictures so I hope that helps. Please make a point of using their fabulous bathroom. It's beautiful.

This place has the ambience and while you're going for the Michelin rated food, the ambience is slightly superior than the food. The design of the plates and interior of the restaurant are something to appreciated. The food was flavorful, service was excellent and I appreciated the diversity of the dining clientele. Very young to older couples, there was a couple that brought in a well behaved dog (!), and they also had a high chair setup for a young child. If I was to recommend a Michelin and Florence inspired dining experience, this would be it.

We walled in and the staff was attentive but formal. We sat With a view of Palazzo Vecchio and the Gucci Gardens. We had the expresso, cappuccino and a glass of Champagne. The coffees were nice with a touch of chocolate. The Champagne arrived with a series of salty food items to enhance the drink. The waiter was super formal, super young and super nervous. He could not figure out how to balance his serving tray and serve the drinks. It all worked out but added to a fun experience.

With a fantastic location (even better: mostly in the shade) on the Piazza della Signoria, and a classic interior, next to the Gucci museum, what could go wrong? Very little. The plates were excellent. The lobster and begonia leaf taco, the eel and pumpkin ravioli, the Chianina (beef) with caviar, and the cleverly executed cod covered in fried cod scales (unfortunately, not as visually exciting as it could be). Oh, and the (50/50) butter/olive oil to make the three different kinds of bread "healthier." Or tastier. One of those. And the servers were more than hospitable to the tourists. Maybe a little too hospitable. I was a bit disappointed when a second couple with a baby carriage entered, but luckily they were too late for lunch service. Hopefully, the first baby in the restaurant was using the only high chair. But I doubt it. I understand restaurants need to make money, but please let everyone know, before they make a reservation, that "screaming infants, who cannot possibly appreciate our chef's efforts, are more than welcome to disrupt the meals of any or all of our other paying guests." I'll probably return, but I'll definitely ask for the non-infant seating area. 2023 09 06. M1.

Really nice experience. I made reservation two months before our scheduled trip and was looking forward to dining here. The whole experience was awesome, the interiors of the restaurant, the table setting, the food and the staff. We chose the tasting menu and got to try a few items. So many flavors and textures in every plate. Our waiter was super friendly and helpful. He even gave us free museum tickets to the Gucci museum next door which I actually visited the next day. Just lovely .. So if you are ever in Florence go ahead and make time for this place. Enjoy life every day every minute.

The only bad I can think of: the WiFi is horrible. I loved the interior of the restaurant. It was soothing and complimented the city around it. The food was excellent. I enjoyed 2 of the 3 appetizers, I just couldn't get myself to enjoy the bao. For mains we ordered the spaghetti and cod. Both of them where very tasty. The service. Wow! Excellent service. I truly have never experienced 1 star Michelin service like this before. Yes it pretty pricey and I might do it again.

Fun and Engaging experience. Can't lie, We were pretty skeptical coming here because of the Hype and it not living up to expectations, but it did! Loved everything from the amuse bouches down to the mains. Every dish triggered some memory and plating was immaculate and what youd expect. I personally also have an added bonus of having a reference point in going to Pujol and being from California so seeing the elevation and combination of Italian and Mexican cuisines was fun to see and experience. Would definitely recommend if you're in for a more whimsical meal in an alice in wonderland type of environment!

Impecable!!! Service was 5 stars. Extremely attentive wait staff and know how to treat all their clientele like VIP's. The food...*chefs kiss*. Beyond like anything I've ever had. This place is an experience filled with surprises! Totally recommend to dine here when in Firenze.

The stones on the wall were actually apart of the outside of the building and the build around it!

Not many places actually have yelp reviews, but this one had so many with great feedback. The food looked amazing. When we arrived we thought they were closed, but that is because they moved to a bigger restaurant a few doors down. When we arrived at the front, the gentleman asked if we had reservations, which we didn't. He directed us to the line with no reservations. The line was a bit long, but doubled in size almost immediately. It also started pouring rain during this time and we were ALL getting drenched even with an umbrella. The non reservation line was not really moving unless people left the line. We waited a good hour. As we inched closer and closer, the lines were now both outrageous and getting seated seemed like a distant memory. The staff came out and gave out Sangria and Bread bites to help those in line feel welcome. We did finally get seated and we were so glad we waited, it was worth it! We ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara, the lobster spaghettini and the chicken breast with roasted potatoes. We also ordered sangria. Everything was so good and our total was 83 €. Prices were unbelievable! We were amazed at the quality, the service and how large the restaurant they relocated to was. It was like a well oiled machine. The food coming out quickly and efficiently. I will 100% be back if I return to Florence!

I went to the internet for the best Florentine steak and Trattoria Mario consistently popped up as highly rated. I reached out to the restaurant via email to make a reservation for a Friday. I wanted to get the earliest reservation possible, so the restaurant reserved me for 7:30pm, which was when they open. I was advised to show up on time - even a 2 minute delay would make me miss my reservation. I can see why Trattoria Mario was strict on reservations. They open on the dot, and then a staff member calls out each reservation at 7:30pm like a roll call. Seemed to me that if you don't have a reservation then you're out of luck, because there was no waitlist and the restaurant small and space was limited. Service was great. Our waitress was highly attentive and got us in/out of the restaurant quickly, which was what we were going for. Food came out in a timely manner. We ordered the penne al ragu, salad misto, and a Florentine steak to share. The penne was perfectly al dente, and I liked the meat sauce. I did find the pasta sauce salty, but it could've came from the grated parmesan. The saltiness was not a fluke. The Florentine steak was just pure beef and a ton of salt... too much salt for my liking. I also decided that I'm not a fan of Florentine steak in general.

Diving right into the food, my meal started with their Carabaccia, a traditional Florentine onion soup that dates back to when Leonardo da Vinci was slurping soup. It was a wonderful start to the evening. Feeling adventurous, or maybe just hungry, our group decided to share their Bistecca Alla Fiorentina "Tradiziozale", a hefty Florentine T-bone Beef-Steak. Wow, that was incredible. They brought out a 1.4kg very thick steak for our approval before cooking. We approved, and agreed in having it served rare. I ate so much steak. I shared two pasta dishes with my daughter (the handmade Pappardelle with Maremman Wild Boar Ragu and the Carbonara). Both were very good but not the best we've had. Appetizers were good: Salad with pecorino cheese, oranges, pine nuts and walnuts. We ordered the Octopus appetizer as well. The Octopus was beautifully prepared and presented, but didn't have much flavor. They nailed the Espresso Martini! One of the best I've ever had! We ordered the huge Florentine steak to share between 4 of us and it was more than enough. Ultimately what knocked this review down to 3 stars and what was really disappointing was how they targeted us as tourists with the note at the bottom of the bill (see picture). It read "GRATUITY NOT INCLUDED" in all CAPITAL LETTERS. Also note it was the only thing in English on the entire bill. If it had been our first meal in Florence we might have fallen for this tactic, however it was our last. There's definitely some hostility towards tourists in Florence. Don't get me wrong, some of the people and restaurants we've visited have been very welcoming and friendly. However we recently saw tourist taxes go up significantly, and then you see tricks like this on the bill at La Giostra. This was the ONLY restaurant in Florence where we encountered this. Once jet fuel prices make flying a relic of the past I would argue that some Europeans who depend on tourists for their livelihood may not miss our presence but will certainly miss our spending. Save your money and go research the many other places to eat while in Florence.
