You just lose business when you try to take people for a ride. I had to replace my boiler in the end just last year, so more lost business. Estimates should always be free and I will never use anyone who wants to charge me ridiculous prices just to come into my house.

Having already been quoted prices over the phone and email by other plumbers, I was hesitant about that. But the guy who answered put me in direct touch with Mike, a plumber who works there. Once I described the situation and the model of the hot water heater, he quoted me a price significantly lower than other plumbers I've worked with. My initial call was at 9:30 a.m. on Monday. By noon Mike was there with his partner. They had the proper hot water heater with them, installed it and carted the dead one away. Done by 1 p.m. Mike and his partner could not have been nicer. I was scheduled for a 12pm appointment and their technician arrived at 3:30pm. The technician who came have a tracheostomy on his throat and communicated with me by gestures and with his iphone. I explained to him what my problem is and we went to look at the boiler. After looking at the boiler for 2 minutes he signals for me to come upstairs to talk. He told me I need to replace my circulation pump at $700 a piece(3pcs) and he will bleed the system for free! I told him my circulation pumps are working fine, he said they are not reliable anymore and changing them now would make me avoid waking up in the middle of winter with a broken pump! I said NO I would not change a working pump! He then said he would bleed the pumps for $200 each but I would save money if he replaced them and bleeds them for free! A 40 year old plug for an abandoned line in my basement failed in an incredibly difficult location…read more I immediately shut off the main and determined that a plug on an elbow that was T-eed to an active line had rotted away. The now open elbow was in between the floor joists in the entryway to a crawl space beneath my kitchen. I contacted Patty at O'Grady and explained my situation, having no water at all in the house (there were no other valves to isolate this one branch line from the rest of the house). Luckily, she was to re-route her plumbers who arrived within minutes. They were able to reroute a section of the branch line using new copper piping and completely remove the old combo of brass/galvanized pipe and fittings.
