It only dripped occasionally so I had put off addressing it for years. I had previously tried to schedule another plumbing company, but that company's price schedule included a mandatory hour of travel time and a minimum one hour for work, so it would have cost me almost $400 to have a plumber walk in my door. A friend recommending IMP Plumbing which she said her building had used for various plumbing projects. It was super simple to reach someone in the office and the base rate was $180 per hour. There was no charge for travel time (at least not for work in mid-Manhattan -- don't know if that would change if the work were somewhere else). I was not in a hurry for the work and my building required a COI, so I scheduled a date about 2 weeks out. My only quibble is that because the company starts work at 8am and my building only allows work starting at 9am, I agreed to be scheduled as the "second job" of the day. That turned out to mean that the plumber didn't arrive until 1 pm, so I ended up waiting at home all morning. I think it was at around 11:50 am that I called was told that a plumber had just freed up and would be over shortly, but shortly turned out to mean 1 pm. I took off a star for the long wait. The plumber who arrived looked at the sink and said that joint between the old drain mechanism and drain pipe had gotten corroded (in the more than 2 decades since it had been installed) and that he would prefer to install a new drain than reseal the one I had. I agreed to that. As he did the work, he also discovered a small hole in one of the elbow drain pipes. He ended up also replacing both old elbow pipes in the kitchen drain set up. During the visit, he also fixed a small drip in my bathroom sink. Total damage - 1 hour of work plus a few parts. With tax, less than $236 total. I would definitely use this company again.

I was not at the location so Nabil assessed the issue, called me about what was wrong, provided an updated quote and went off to buy the materials. Nabil went to buy the materials and came back to fix the problem quickly. Nabil replaced the fill valve and the rubber gasket. Afterwards, he leveled and applied silicone sealant around the base of the toilet to minimize risk of leakage from instability. He also walked through the work performed with my tenants and explained the issue. My tenants notified me that Nabil was very nice and left the place clean as he vacuumed even behind the toilet! After the job was done, I got a full report from both my tenant and Nabil. Both my tenants and I are very happy about the job. I paid Nabil via Zelle and am happy that I was able to rely on Nabil to do the job quickly and efficiently. Anthony arrived with another gentleman, Dom, on time and they patiently listened while I explained what was going on and what I tried. Anthony told me they'd first try to snake the drain and if that didn't work, there was another procedure with a water jet. I appreciated him being upfront about the fact that the first thing they would try may not work in order to set expectations. Decided to go with the snaking and Anthony let me know the price and proceeded to do the work. They were very thorough, spending about an hour working on it and testing it. By the end of the snaking, everything was working without an issue! Throughout the work, Anthony and Dom were extremely pleasant. They took extra care to ask if it was okay to move things onto the counter or if I wanted any extra protection on the floor.
