We really enjoy chatting with him and learning about the house and its history. In the morning you get a delicious home cooked breakfast from Johannes. Front staff was rude, ill dressed, failed to have booked rooms available at time of check-in that were clean. I was there for a wedding, had asked for early check-in. While I know that cannot be guaranteed, the front desk staff made accommodations for other guests before me. When I was given a room well past the public check-in time, it was not clean. The duvet clearly had sheets or towels or something bunched up under it. I was now late for the wedding so I had to leave and asked them to make sure I had a clean room by the time I returned. the front desk supervisor argued with me when I came back in the evening and said that the room was clean. It was not. She was unapologetic for any of this experience. Appropriate staffing and housekeeping quality standards are severely lacking. This is a management issue. I have asked for the manager to call me, but she has not done so. This hotel manager is not doing her job. This was a waste of my points. I am completely dissatisfied with the experience and this is a stain on Marriott's reputation. I will, because of this, book my next reservations with Hilton properties. There are other hotels in the area. I will strongly encourage others to use one of those alternatives.

The owners were actually present to watch the Clemson vs Auburn game and brought over the meal for the guests to indulge. It was wonderful and brought the guests together in a communal fashion which would never be experienced in a hotel atmosphere. It was during the week days so everyone there was on business and thankful for the meal because it was a balmy 30-something degrees outside. The rooms are simple yet beautiful. Each room (I've only stayed in two of them) has cable TV, a small desk, bed, end table, sitting chair, private bath, and a closet. The kitchen is stocked to the gills and accessible anytime. The common areas are kept neat and tidy and there's a countertop Keurig for all of your coffee and tea needs. Fresh fruit and less healthful snacks are also supplied in the kitchen. I've stayed several times on business and will likely return one year for the Sandblast Rally race which is a popular local attractions for off-road racing enthusiasts. If you stay here, be certain to dine at the River's Edge restaurant. Unexpectedly phenomenal fare.
