We are a proud Guidepost family since the Schaumburg doors opened a few years ago. Our children love the current Guides and are thriving in this approachable Montessori environment. We explored other care options in the area, but nothing compared to Guidepost. We found the school to be clean and well maintained, and the curriculum encourages consistent personal and academic growth that sets up our kids for success in and outside of school. We are absolutely thrilled with our experience at Guidepost Montessori! Our kids have flourished in this nurturing and stimulating environment. We have been sending both kids here since 2022. Both kids love learning new life skills, which has helped them develop a strong sense of independence and confidence. The art activities allow them to express creativity, and our old child eagerly looks forward to spending time in the gross motor room, where she can play and develop her physical skills. They both started in the nido room under a year old. Now our older daughter is in Children's House with other 3-5 year olds. The dedication and expertise of the Guides at Guidepost Montessori have been instrumental in fostering a love for learning in our children. They are the lifeblood of the school. They work tirelessly from dawn till dusk The school's emphasis on hands-on, child-centered learning has made education both fun and engaging them. We are incredibly grateful for the supportive community and the holistic approach. It's truly a wonderful place for our kids growth and development! Guidepost Montessori struggled under prior management. A few different things resulted in overworked and unhappy teachers, which led to high turnover, which in turn led to child/parent unhappiness. Said management acknowledged problems existed, but showed indifference towards (and a complete lack of accountability for) this dynamic. My wife and I were ready to pull our child out of the school when Krista was hired. (And to be honest, the only reason we stuck around as long as we did was because we believed the Montessori method would be the best pre-schooling method for our child.) We're glad we gave her a chance because she has really helped turn the school around. We've seen an influx of new, high-quality educators to in addition to the loyal ones who stuck through the previous dysfunction. Our child is much happier day-to-day with a consistent and happier teacher staff. Every parent knows the undeniable evidence of this: 1) their child regularly discusses what they learned, and 2) they talk about their teachers in a positive way. We have had 2 kids at Guidepost for almost 3 years now, and we love it. Our son is about to go into kindergarten in the fall, and Guidepost has more than prepared him for this transition. He started here at 3 years old and could barely talk, and now he's reading proficiently, very patient with younger kids, and incredibly well adjusted heading into public school. We can't say enough about the montessori approach to education, and we're incredibly grateful for the patience and care all of his guides have shown along the way. Our daughter, 4 now, has also excelled through the various classrooms here and we are complimented regularly on how well she does with playing independently and her level of focus as a 4 year old. Again, we attribute this in large part to the guides at this school. While the leadership has changed quite a few times in our 3 years here, the most recent head guides, Krista and Jordan, have done a phenomenal job of building community within the school and I think it's in a great place for growth moving forward. The guides have remained pretty consistent through these leadership transitions, which is really the most important part for the growth of our kids. Our son has been attending Guidepost since he was 23 months old and since then it has become a second home for my child and for us. As someone who is in the early education field I can't say enough about the teachers at this school. It is rare to find a group who truly loves caring for and educating young children -- from the head of school to part time guides -- everyone believes in partnering with family to support children to be curious, grow their independence and build empathy. They also understand the importance of building kindergarten readiness skills. We have been sending our eldest daughter to Guidepost Schaumburg since 2022. She started in the Nido (infant) room after we tried a more traditional daycare facility for 6 months. We were looking for something different where she could have more independence especially at meal time even as an infant and be less over stimulated with excess toys, sounds, and unfocused business. We knew Montessori based day care would be a better fit. Now both our daughters attend and thrive at the school. Benefits of Guidepost Schaumburg: 1. Amazing guides that you can tell truly care about your child 2. My children are treated as their own individual not just part of the collective class and are encouraged to thrive in the ways that best suit them 3. 2 playgrounds and 2 indoor gyms to practice gross motor skills twice a day 4. Wonderful meal service with diversity of food and good vegetarian options 5. A strong sense of community is fostered among the families, teacher, and administration. My children feel safe with and hug guides that are not even from their classroom! 6. Guides and administrators are always willing and available to meet with you to discuss your child's progress or answer questions! Some downsides (because this is a genuine review but read these carefully): 1. The cost is substantial. HOWEVER, it is comparable to the other surround chain daycare facilities but you are getting a true school like environment not just a daycare so it is a better value for the cost. We also applied for financial assistance not expecting much but we did surprisingly get some assistance! 2. Administration changes have occured several times and left moments of instability. HOWEVER, the last year with the new head of school and assistant director, the school has really continued to thrive! Having our girls attend Guidepost Montessori Schaumburg leaves feeling confident that even when they can't be with us, they are loved, well cared for, and getting to develop themselves through amazing experiences each day. read more

My 4yr old son has been here now for over a year and it's a good time to write an honest review. My son started here when he turned 3 and went into the Children's House program which is the 3-6 yr old class. We were specifically looking for a montessori with this set up when doing our search. My wife and I, and our son, have enjoyed everything about this Guidepost location thus far. When it comes to daycare/schools, I do think your own expectations and especially teachers can make or break your experience. In our case, the primary expectations we had going in were 1) Is our Son enjoying his time there, generally learning new things, and interacting with the other kids 2) Is he in a safe and clean environment. Beyond that, everything else is gravy or something we're not overly worried about. Both of these expectations have been met for us. Between the updates we get via the app, him telling us about the things he's doing, and quick updates from the teachers themselves during pickup/dropoff, we know #1 is true. #2 we were pretty confident in from our first walk through and that has played out to be true. The classrooms are clean and clutter free, and many of the items the kids interact with seem easier to clean/disinfect. This is anecdotal and could be because of other factors, but we have noticed him being sick less often than his previous day care. I feel confident attributing some of that to not having a bunch of furry hand puppets and other nearly impossible to clean items that a bunch of snotty toddlers are playing with :-) The main reason our son has enjoyed this location as much as he has though is by far the teachers. A few months after joining, there was some turnover with teachers and the administrative staff due to management issues. We were fortunate that the Children's House classrooms were not impacted and have been stable and consistent throughout. Maybe my review would have been different if that wasn't the case, who knows. Regardless, the speed at which our son got comfortable with a brand new school was astonishing to both my wife and I. Ms Vjosa, the assistant guide in his classroom, was someone he immediately felt very comfortable with and she has done an incredible job helping him not only get comfortable but start to get out of his comfort zone without getting pushed too hard. She picked up on some of his sensitive tendencies without any mention from us and has appropriately helped him adjust and work within his safe discomfort zone which is important for growth. She has been his rock through a few lead guide changes (all for good reason). His original lead guide moved out of state a couple months after we joined, and the next lead guide unfortunately had to cut down her schedule due to health reasons (she was great and we miss her!). Ms. Madison, his new lead guide, has been amazing. She's helped bring back some of the more consistent updates within the app which were rightfully de-prioritized for a time while the teachers helped each other out to get through the transitions. She's also been incredibly helpful in helping us understand as parents ways we can continue to support our son and help him continue to grow. I can't speak highly enough of those two and I know they're the main reason our son has only had ~1 total week in well over a year of struggling at drop off. And finally the management staff that have now been running the school for almost 9 months now, Ms. Krista and Ms. Jordan, have also created meaningful changes (for the better). I personally didn't have anything bad to say about the prior staff, but Krista and Jordan have introduced a ton of opportunities to create more of a sense of community at the school. There are regular events outside of school hours or on weekends for parents and kids to attend. This has been a great way for us to meet other parents which we have really appreciated. All in all, if you've read this far and are considering a montessori for your child, I'd definitely put the Schaumburg Guidepost location near the top of your list. read more

Our family joined GMSC when it was just opened in January of 2021. We came there looking for a high quality childcare option that was a better fit than what we had previously expected for our 2 year old daughter. Since then our second daughter joined our family and started in the Nido classroom at 10 weeks old. Now our girls are 5 and 2.5 and consider Guidepost their second home. As anyone would expect I would say the school went through some growing pains in the first years. There was some turn over in staff and because of that I believe they lost some enrolled families. That being said the current administration and staff as beyond spectacular. Every day we are greeted with smiling faces, and most importantly my children are happy to attend every day! We couldn't be happier with our choice to enroll our children at GMSC. Highly recommend! read more

Spent time and energy doing a tour with this school and they completely ghosted us, even after multiple follow ups. Their corporate Montessori environment also left a bad taste in my mouth. I worked with someone from their corporate office in CA who was providing completely different information from their local employee in Schaumburg. It didn't seem like they were aligned at all, which would make me concerned about sending my child there. read more

Absolutely horrible. Do not subject your kids to this place. Teachers leaving constantly, interaction with kids is minimal, shut down all the time stating Covid, however find out there is a teacher shortage. You pay full price each week they shut down. Parents very unhappy and leaving all the time. Pictures of daily activity were rare and when I went for conference, they were giving me information that was the wrong child. Chaos and administration could not care at all. They just say we will fill your spot with a new person. read more

To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I had 3 kids here at the school for about 2 years paid over $100k and they did not care one bit to help fix the many issues we presented to them. Aside of shutting down every other week due to "COVID", I'm not 100% convinced this isn't due to major short staffing. That said, be prepared to have your work day interrupted for a multitude of things such as having a fever (which was not even a fever- thermometers were broken), kid having dried food on their face and them sending home for possible hand, foot, mouth, or even just not being themselves and seeming sick when they were perfectly fine at home. Not to mention when they do get sent home it requires you to see a doctor so having to take more time off work for you to not return for 24 hours with a note. So they get another day not watching a kid. The quality of the school has declined major since opening and classrooms seem very unorganized and chaotic. Now there are definitely a few great teachers and I feel bad for them they are in such a poorly managed system. Can't even begin to list the many issues I have and since pulled all 3 to go elsewhere. They don't care if you lose your job and every complaint goes unanswered except for "I'm sorry you feel that way". Just sad that they would take advantage of the COVID situation and families. read more
