The basement has a bar, lounge and restaurant. It was a little noisy. But we could still talk. The roasted scallops were cooked perfectly. The green sauce was tasty. I love the presentation. The Bill Marrow was also good. It was very rich. There were two kinds of Sunday roast a sirloin and a rump. Three of us had the rump roast dinner and three had the sirloin roast dinner. It was hard to tell the difference. All the dinners came with roasted potatoes greens and of course, Yorkshire pudding. It was all delicious. I have to say my favorite part is always the Yorkshire pudding. I also have a green salad, which is basically just lettuce with a light dressing. It was very fresh. We were too full for dessert. The service was excellent. We were seated right away and given water. In the UK, you can order sparkling, still or tap. Sparkling and still come with a charge. Tap is usually free. Our server was attentive without hovering. It's a good idea to make reservations at Hawksmoor especially for the Sunday roast. We got there at three by the time we left around 4:30 some of the roasts were already sold out. Just a note: Sunday roost is usually a late lunch not a dinner. It's good to go between two and four especially if you don't have a reservation.

When I was sat, I was greater by some delicious popcorn and water. I ordered the dry aged ribeye, with peppercorn sauce and Crispy Bone Marrow Garlic Mash. Everything was perfection!!! Truly. So tender, so flavorful. At the end of the meal they give you a token for a free ice cream cone for after or to come back later. It was a delicious salted caramel with chocolate shavings. Delicious and such a kind gesture to keep the customer happy or come back. I was truly shocked that is place is a chain with multiple locations all over the uk. They truly care about making a great steak available to everyone. Definitely my favorite bite in London.

The cafe is super cute in Covent Garden. We were seated quickly at a small table and given a complementary cup of fresh popcorn. Jessi Juan, our server, was attentive and friendly. We ordered a glass of wine and a beer. The menu is fairly simple, steaks and sides. Other steak and wine specials are listed on a board. Steaks start at £15 and sides are £4-5. Food comes out super quick. My husband and I had Flat Iron steaks and shared sides of Roasted Aubergine, Tomatoes and Mozzarella and Bone Marrow Mash. I also ordered the Bearnaise sauce to compliment my steak. Everything tasted excellent. My husband LOVED the Bone Marrow Mash potatoes with fried onion bits. I loved the aubergine. You receive a token for a complementary ice cream cone, which you pick up when you leave. The ice cream is topped with chocolate powder. The free cone is delicious and a nice touch. I'd return, heck, I'd even stand in line.

wow..... this was .... WOW…read more being from the states and seeing the typical sunday roast advertised on every platform made me NEED to try it for myself. i did copious amounts of research to find the absolute best in London and I can confidently say this. is. IT. we absolutely adored this meal. i shared it with my boyfriend and it was just enough for both of us. FOOD: beef with horseradish, lamb with mint sauce & pork with applesauce: WOW!!!! we absolutely loved this. phenomenally cooked and paired amazingly with the sauces. the Yorkshire pudding, duck fat roast potatoes, a selection of seasonal vegetables and blacklock Gravy were AMAZING!!!! absolutely scrumptious. i dream of the crispy potatoes that were so soft on the inside. vegetables were flavorful and i would swim in the gravy! ATMOSPHERE: coolest joint ever. bathrooms that say "east end boys" and "west end girls". when you enter there is neat decor with record players and low lighting. downstairs was a dimly lit, beautiful cacophony of people laughing, enjoying their meals & the greatest decor ever. it was such a vibe in this establishment! SERVICE: so helpful, fast service and kind people. everyone was so nice there! OVERALL RATING: 100000/10 i would definitely go back. i think back often of this meal and want to cry i crave it so badly! GO! RUN!

By…read morethe time I was planning, the only open reservation was at 2pm so I ended up coming for a late lunch. I opted for the all-in which includes a portion of the beef, lamb and pork roasts. A really great way to try their variety of meats. First, the portion was absolutely huge - I definitely appreciated how much vegetables there were, the roasted brussels and carrots were delicious. Sides were all good - including the roasted potatoes and yorkshire pudding. The star was the meat of course, my favorite ended up being the lamb which was super tender and flavorful. Loved the crispy pork rind that comes with the pork roast slices and the gravy and sauces on the side really rounded out the meal, added a ton of flavor and made it fun to try the different sauces with the variety of meats. Service was great and everything came out really quickly! Definitely would recommend Blacklock to try the famous Sunday roast in London, you can't go wrong here!

With a bill of over £400, I expected a much higher level of food, service, and comfort. The biggest disappointment was the steak. For a steakhouse, I expected the steak to be the highlight of the meal, but the one I had just was not very good. The rest of the food was acceptable, but nothing stood out enough to justify the cost. Service was also inconsistent. Our waiter forgot a few things during the meal, including water and part of our order. My partner ordered fish, but the steak was initially placed in front of her. That was not a major issue on its own, but along with having to repeatedly call the waiter over because he was not checking on us, it made the service feel inattentive. The dining room was also uncomfortable. It was very hot outside that day, and with the windows open, the shades up, and the air conditioning not keeping up, it became extremely warm inside. It was also very bright, which made it harder to relax and enjoy the meal. Overall, it was not a terrible experience, but for over £400, I expected much better. At that price point, the steak should be excellent, the service should be attentive, and the restaurant should be comfortable. Unfortunately, this visit fell short.
