I am not much of a review writer but I depend on them when making a lot of decisions and I felt like I needed to post my experience. My husband and I just closed on a house and Vitek was AMAZING through the whole process. We worked with Jason Russell and from the moment we inquired about pre-qualification to the day we got the keys he was absolutely a dream to work with. We were really nervous about the home buying process since this was our first house and the other lenders we had spoken to were really shady (all them sounded pretty sleezy and made promises that I knew they wouldn't be able to keep). The first time we met, Jason spent over an hour with us - even after his work day had ended - and patiently explained the whole process and answered every question we threw at him. He responded quickly to emails (usually less than 10 minutes from sending the message) and was always willing meet with us when we needed further clarification. He kept in constant contact with our real estate agent, as well, so that everyone was always on the same page. We got preapproved for a loan late December and during the last 5 months, we have dealt with house liens, last minute credit score issues, and strange requests from sellers. Jason handled each situation quickly and professionally and kept our sanity in tact during the process. He went above and beyond to make sure we saved as much money as possible and came in with a down payment that was affordable. During closing, Jason met me at the Title company - without being asked to - and stayed while I signed all of the paperwork. It was much less stressful knowing that he was there to make sure we signed all the correct paperwork and to answer any last minute questions we had. I could go on and on about the excellent service Jason provided and the benefits of Vitek but I think you get my point. We financed our first home with her and two subsequent refinances and couldn't be happier. Where do I start? If you're looking to buy a home, do a refi, or anything with Guild, Marlena Olsen is your go-to!!! This is the third time I've worked with Marlena, and it wont be the last! I did a home purchase with her in 2012, a refinance in 2019 and another home purchase in 2020. She never fails when it comes to what she does. She is a go-getter, super detail oriented, and works efficiently. She likes to over estimate your costs so that when everything is said and done, things usually turn out better than even expected. Briana is a huge asset to ViTech! We started shopping around for a mortgage officer about 2 years ago. We've worked with 3-4 lenders before we came across ViTech mortgage. The other lenders gave us the run around, were not very accommodating, and were not very responsive. After many unanswered questions, we put in a request to speak to a mortgage officer at ViTech. That's when we began working with Briana. From the moment we first spoke to Briana, we knew we found the perfect lender. She was very nice, welcoming, and took the time to find out what our needs were. Week after week, we would throw a different scenario at Briana and she always took the time to walk us through our different options. She promptly responded to numerous emails and phone calls. Marlena with Vitek is the best loan officer! We just closed on our house and couldn't be happier! From start to finish Marlena went above and beyond in guiding us through a very complicated process. That's part of her brilliance, making a complicated transaction simple and straightforward. She thoroughly and expertly analyzed our situation, saw potential roadblocks a mile ahead, made sure there were no surprises, and most importantly made sure we didn't get in our own way with any ignorant decisions that would have slowed or stopped the transaction. She communicated with us often and her and her team always promptly responded to emails and texts, even when she was on vacation! She leaves nothing to chance, covers all bases, and takes pride in putting her name on your loan docs. If you're buying a house, you need to work with her. We worked with Evelyne Jamet and David "Woody" Bartley and I've gotta say I have never had a better experience with a mortgage group. We had been working with Bank of America to refinance our home, but it was going to take 60 days to close the loan and we had some time-sensitive issues that required a quicker turnaround. A collegue insisted we contact Evelyne with VITEK. Evelyne and Woody worked as a team and were in constant contact. When unusual things came up, like errors on our credit report, etc., they were in constant contact with us to try to get the discrepancies fixed...not just once a day, but often multiple times each day! They were very clear on what they needed from us and we provided prompt responses. As a result, our loan closed in 30 days...even with a few unusual aspects to our loan. I have seen the negative reviews from other Yelpers here and I had such a different experience...I had to Yelp my experience. Maybe the Loan Officers from the negative posts had issues and/or only unhappy customers are Yelping. In any event, I would STRONGLY recommend Evelyn and/or Woody to anyone needing a new mortgage. I have gone through at least 6-7 purchases/refis over the course of my adult life and this was hands-down the most professional and efficient system I have experienced. Six months ago I lost my husband of 30 years. To lower my bills, I decided to refinance the home we purchased in 2009. I contacted the bank who held our loan and they quickly gave me an estimated percentage rate (the same as my existing loan). I also contacted another mortgage broker but did not like the feeling I got when I spoke to their representative. I have to start off first by saying I am a yelp user. So trust me on this review. I just purchased a house in Sacramento. I am so happy with this house. I have been looking since August 2016. Robert Turrietta, Chad Stellmacher and Melanie Prescott are a great team. For the last 8 1/2 month they have made me feel I was apart of the team and never gave up on me. I never had to wonder about anything. I could call Robert or Chad anytime and they were always in communication with each other. (I never have to call one because the other one said something else) ON that point alone I would recommend them without any hesitation. BUT there is more. Being a first time home buyer, I didn't know where to start to get pre-approved. I found Vitek online and decided to give them a try. I gave them a call and was connected with one of their loan originators. They were very courteous on on the phone and I set up an appointment. When I met with their loan originators in person they were very helpful again explaining to me how much I could be approved for, I had to provide some basic financial documents to them beforehand of course, and answering any questions that I had. Once I was pre-approved, I could actually start looking at houses, the only problem was that I didn't have a realtor let. The folks at Vitek had me covered and they referred me to an agent, who was awesome to work with (that's a whole other review). During my house hunting I came across a bunch of different buying scenarios such as FHA and short sales and Vitek was there to answer any questions I had concerning my financing. When I finally found a house and was ready to close, the communication was always open and they did what they do best which was to make the process as smooth as possible. Our Loan Officer Robert Kuang and his professional team at Vitek helped us scored our first home. The communication from Robert was awesome, he kept us up to date on our loan status. Reminded us when and what we needed to do throughout the whole loan process. Robert's professional background and experience has guided us to accept a mortgage loan that we are comfortable making each month. Even though we've only met Robert once during our close of escrow, but he has treated us as a family / friend throughout the loan process. Lori Cooley and Kristie Scott were a pleasure to do business with. Both were professional in every sense of the word. They were honest, knowledgeable and communicated well with everyone involved in the transaction. Best of all, they actually answered their phones and responded quickly to Emails and texts. That may sound like a small thing, but having spent nearly 30 years in real estate sales, I can tell you there aren't many loan officers that provide this level of service. The one negative was that the loan took longer than anticipated and we ran over our contract period. Part of this was beyond Vitek's control as we were dealing with a unique property and that resulted in the appraisal getting hung up in a desk review. There was also the issue of the buyers' current lender being slow to provide 12 months of payment history. These delays didn't fully account for not closing on time. Given the level of communication, the delay was easy enough to deal with because all parties, including the seller, were kept apprised of the situation. I can not speak on all the loan officers working at this company just for the one I had the unpleasant experience to be part of when deciding to make my purchase on a home. Dustin Terrazas assured me that my financial situation was a perfect fit for one of the loans he offered. He seemed professional and experienced. I gave him all the paperwork and documents that were needed but I should have taken note and been AWARE when he'd ask for the same documents over and over again making himself look completely unorganized. At what should have been the end of our escrow process Dustin T. didn't have the time nor showed concern or had the patience to fix the problems that occurred, making my dreams a stressful nightmare!
