    Lobster roll

My friend and I wanted lobster, and we saw they had great reviews, so this is where we popped into. Be prepared to pay cash only, they do have an ATM inside though. We split a shrimp cocktail and the shrimpers were absolutely perfect. The coleslaw I got as my side was tasty, and the lobster roll itself had good flavor. My teeth found some shell though and I momentarily was v concerned I had cracked my tooth, but luckily I didn't, so make sure to not just chomp down into one. Definitely a nice Oceanside dining area for sure.

Took a nice ride down Rt 77 through Durham and into Guilford, enjoying the quaint scenery this time of year on Rt 77. Guilford Lobster Pound was voted the best lobster rolls in Connecticut for 2025! After reading this article, I just had to try it out and immediately! So let me tell you why I gave Guilford Lobster Pound five stars... The trip down was just beautiful, pulling into the restaurant showed easy parking, but I happen to notice portable toilets outside the restaurant. Then I realized this isn't a restaurant, this is more of an outdoor set up with seating under a tent. The view over the marina is beautiful and looking farther out, viewing Long Island Sound is simply stunning. The fresh lobster was 4 ounces of knuckle and claw meat place in between a New England hotdog roll with melted butter and warm. This was a really good lobster roll. Not the best in Connecticut but in the conversation; maybe a top five. The price was right at $26. Service was polite, and with a smile, and everybody associated with this lobster pound was very welcoming. Wait time for lunch was less than 10 minutes. The place was steady with all of the picnic tables taken, but the turnover was quick. I'm glad I got to try out Guilford Lobster Pound. This destination was on point, from the journey, to the restaurant, the amazing lobster roll, the view, service; and value. Oh heck, yes I'm coming back. This should be a bucket list seafood shack for you, also!

I'm originally from CT and moved away years ago and every time I come to visit - I want a lobster roll. I've tried different places each visit and this is the first for me to come to. I loved the outside seating with a water view on a dock. The employees are super nice and friendly. Felt like you were over a friend's house for dinner! I got the lobster roll and it came in your must - New England style bun. Lots of lobster! I loved this place and recommended it to family to check it out. Can't wait to come back next summer and try more from The menu!

Two warm lobster rolls, coleslaw, and potato salad all made on premises

If you're looking for one of the best warm lobster rolls in Connecticut, Guilford Lobster Pound should be at the top of your list. The lobster roll here is exactly what you'd hope for -- buttery and flavorful, but not so drenched that it falls apart in your hands. The bun was perfectly toasted and absolutely packed with fresh lobster meat from end to end. Don't take my word for it alone, they have been voted one of the top 3 lobster rolls in Connecticut by various mags. The homemade coleslaw and potato salad made for delicious sides -- simple, fresh, and satisfying. I washed it all down with a classic canned Arnold Palmer, which hit the spot on a warm day. While they do offer hot dogs and Georgia hots, this is definitely a seafood shack at heart. The vibe is super casual, with plenty of picnic tables set up dockside overlooking the marina. It's first come, first served, cash only, and BYOB -- so plan ahead and bring your appetite. For shade they do have a large open air tent. This place nails the New England summer seafood experience.

This cute little place friendly owners as well as staff is another must try . I had the lobster grill cheese and my mom the lobster roll. Both delicious and very filling.

I love this place because it's in a beautiful waterfront location with great friendly service. We ordered lobster rolls, a hot dog and the chowder (not cream based). The lobster was well-cooked on a buttered bun for $26 (as of 2025). My only critique is it could have used more seasoning to bring out its full flavor and it's cash only (with an atm onsite). I can't wait to come back another day and hopefully try their bisque!

Perfect ending for a summer Sunday. I feasted on shrimp cocktail followed by a lobster salad roll. The food was amazing, the service quick and friendly, and the ambience was out of this world. It's one of the most scenic lobster pounds in New England

The ambiance and view heavily outweigh the food. I want to love this place, but the lobster just tastes like nothing. Even with butter, no flavor. Same with the soup unfortunately. The staff were absolutely fantastic. Fast and friendly, but there's a million better lobster rolls in New England.

I was dropping off my customers in Madison and they highly recommended this place. Sits on the dock with plenty of outdoor seating and parking. The two guys that were working are all stars. They cook and serve and are very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. I ordered the spicy hot dog with sauerkraut as well as a lobster roll with a side of homemade coleslaw. Everything was amazing and the view of the ocean was breathtaking. This is going to be my new go to spot whenever I'm in the area.

Lobster Landing - Clinton, CT (looks like shredded lobster)

Best Lobster Roll on the shoreline area. The Lobster Pound in Guilford,CT is clearly, and significantly better than other places known for Lobster Rolls on the shoreline. Mainly better than the "famous" Lobster Landing in Clinton, known for their lobster rolls. The Lobster Pound is only a small shack at the Guilford Harbor with picnic tables, but what a difference vs Lobster Landing in Clinton. Don't even waste your time and money with Lobster Landing. The Lobster Pound in Guilford is cheaper and much better, so make a b-line for The Guilford Lobster Pound, and it's surrounded by lobster traps right beside it. Check out the photos below, and you be the judge

And the birthday celebration continues with mouthwatering lobster, and beautiful water views. Great spot for lunch with off the street parking. Definitely the best lobster rolls in Connecticut.

Best Lobster Rolls In Connecticut hand down. Took a drive from NYC based on numerous rave reviews and lived up to the hype and more. I can't wait to bring friends and family next time. Family atmosphere with superb service. The water views were picturesque.

The NY-style calamari was ample and very nicely prepared. We order the fixed price dinner. The Wedge Salad was excellent and almost a meal unto itself. My 6 oz filet was perfectly medium rare. While I prefer no sauce, a friend ordered the Béarnaise. After sampling it, I'd skip it. Fixed price menu included mashed potatoes and green beans. Both were tasty. Other sides in the regular menu were more appealing. Overall, a good meal. One star deducted because the cost - particularly for sodas and side dishes - was excessive. Definitely worth trying.

I had an app of steak skewers and french onion soup. Pinot noir. Friend had a burger; comes with steak fries. White wine. Food & wine were good. Service was not good. I don't know how long we sat at the bar waiting for one of the two people to come over, answer some questions and take our order. When someone did come, she was not friendly. I don't think I saw either bartender smile. Even though we liked our meal, there are so many other places, better priced, with good food and friendlier service that there's no reason to come back. Service matters! Ambiance matters. Read another review that said the owner doesn't share the tips so we both tipped in cash. And that's another reason not to come back.
