I get cravings for pecan pies, especially during the holidays, but sometimes I just want a few bites, so pecan​ tartlets easily fill the bill, and the pecan tartlet at Guilty Pleasures did just that! I came across this pop-up at Epidemic Ales, though you can easily place an order with them on-line for any occasion​. My pecan tart was fresh with a flaky shell. For me, the shell of a small tart makes up half of the tart, so it was a plus that it was super duper fresh. The filling was made up equally of fresh nuts​ but did have a rather prominent taste of alcohol. Some pecan pies contain a bit of alcohol like rum or bourbon. I went on their homepage, and it looks like they also make a Maple Bourbon Pecan Pie. I'm assuming that the tart I got may have been a mini version of that. If you're averse to alcohol in your food, keep this in mind, at least when it comes to their pecan tartlets. Guilty Pleasures makes cupcakes​, cakes, ​pies, cookies and other nicely presented baked goods as well. I spied pre-packaged mixes of mini treats that can be purchased as a nice hostess gift that contained ​macarons, meringues, and what looked like small pumpkin tarts. I definitely enjoy my sweet treats, but with Guilty Pleasures, it's nice to know that with the smaller bites of desserts I can have them all, minus the guilt...sort of. read more

I had the pleasure of trying some of the mini cupcakes at a Yelp Elite event at CaliCraft Brewery and from what I remembered I enjoyed them. So when I saw them have a pop up at Epidemic Brewery on Taco Tuesday, I knew I had to try them again. I picked up a 12 pack of minis for $24 I think give or take. It included s'mores, churro, apple butter, and salted caramel pumpkin spice. All were very tasty. The cake was just a tad dryer for my taste but big on flavor. My son loved the churro and said to me "Mom, it tastes just like churro!!!" The gal was so sweet and friendly I loved supporting local business. Mind you there is no brick and mortar so pop up is where it's at or place a special order. I asked if she'd be doing macarons next time because my daughter and I LOVE macarons! When we saw creme brûlée as a flavor we were already salivating! She said yes! Next week! Fast forward to the next week and she delivered! Was there with macarons! I tried creme brûlée, churro, and pumpkin spice caramel (10 for $25 or $3 each). They were wonderful! My daughter in heaven that the creme brûlée has custard inside! Umm more please! We are fans! I came across this vendor via Facebook. Their treats looked so good that I just had to try them out. I love me some Rice Krispy treats and I couldn't find anyone local but luckily I found them. I was completely taken aback by the beauty of these treats! They designed the treats EXACTLY to my liking and how I wanted them. They were for my daughter's baptism, which was on a Saturday, and we received the treats on Friday. I'm being completely honest when I say, it's Monday and the leftovers are still fresh tasting.
