We met one of the owners, Amparo, and she was beyond welcoming and genuinely made the experience feel special from the moment we walked in. The shop has the best nostalgic old-school soda fountain vibe with handcrafted fountain drinks, massive sundaes, fresh baked goodies, shakes, floats, and classic ice cream treats. I got 8 three inch pies and they were gone in about 3 mins when I brought them into the office. What a hidden gem in Concord. When you walk in, it feels like you are at an old fashioned soda fountain shoppe. The smell of cookies and pies attacks you, so be ready for the deliciousness. Everything is made right there in the shoppe, so you know it's fresh. They also serve great ice cream, local coffee and awesome sandwiches. I can't say enough good things about them. My husband and I have been to the Kreamery and bake shop a few times now The service has always been exceptional the owners/staff have always been very prompt and professional and very friendly Even when they were busy. The pies are exceptional the cheesecake is better than any five star high-end restaurant. The mixed berry pie is perfect, not too sweet just the right amount of tang. And the pecan pie ..... There really are no words. The piecrust is flaky and absolutely phenomenal. They must be made in house. Needless to say, we will keep coming back.... This place is soo good! Not only do they have ice cream, and floats but they have gluten free cheesecake! I was shocked. I believe they said they bake gluten free treats every Tuesday but they said if you call beforehand they can make it. The owners were soo kind! I cannot believe we've been sleeping on this place when it's so close to home! My boyfriend surprised me with some treats from here and we're pretty obsessed. He brought home some cinnamon buns, a small banana cream pie, and a mini chocolate mousse pie. The banana cream pie is SO much better than the one at nations. The pie crust is flakey but can still carry the weight of the filling. Always a positive in my book. The banana flavor is perfect. I made the mistake of saving the cinnamon bun for the next day, so when I had it the outer layers were a little dry, but the center was still perfect. The frosting was AMAZING. I haven't tried the chocolate mousse pie yet -- I'll update when we do. The only thing that could use some improvement (thought we didn't mind it too much), was that the to-go boxes might be just a little short and will touch on the frosting. We were super stoked to try out the pies. The pecan was DELICIOUS! My 4 year old picked out the coconut cream, she was sooooo excited. After a bite or two she said something was bitter. I tasted it and yes the whipped cream was super bitter so we scraped it all off, but it left a literal bitter taste in our mouths so we threw it out, such a bummer. The cherry was tart & sweet, the apple wasn't mushy (which was nice) but could have had a bit more spice or flavor, the chocolate cream was light and chocolatey, and the banana cream was awesome and light with nice banana chunks inside. They sell Mitchell's ice cream from San Francisco, including diverse flavors like ube and macapuno. I discovered my new favorite, the Espresso Toffee Crunch! If you love coffee ice cream and all its variants, you'd love this flavor too. I'm a pie fiend. Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted pie instead of birthday cake. For years, someone in my family has baked my favorite lemon merengue pie for my birthday. I. Love. Pie. I stopped by today to get a little key lime pie and they were out. I was surprised because this was the first time they've ever been out. They should always be out of their key lime pie. They should have a line out the door when they open every day for that key lime pie. I'm a huge key lime pie fan and get it at every opportunity, I even make a pretty fine one myself. The key lime pie at this place puts me to shame. Its so freaking good. I find myself driving around just thinking about it and when I can get there to get some. Delicious! Since I was late the huddled masses already bought out all the key lime today, I went for the coconut cream. Previously I had also had the cheesecake which is also delicious with a graham cracker crust. The coconut cream has a traditional pie crust and it is as good as the best I've ever had, and that's my brother's. He has a gift for pie crust and his has competition at The Kreamery. Solid competition. If you love pie, you'll love The Kreamery. They also have a large selection of Mitchell's ice cream. Yeah, that Mitchell's. Keep it up! Let me preface by writing that I love to support local business. So, I was really excited when this opened! My first trip, I got an egg cream, as I was feeling nostalgic being from New York (mom used to get that when she was growing up in the Bronx). It wasn't really mixed properly and I didn't realize until I was already driving down the road. Otherwise, I would have said something. It had only been open about a month at that time, so I figured maybe they hadn't worked out the kinks in the recipes yet. The second visit, I was treating myself to a celebratory hot fudge sundae for a job well done at work. I do know about Mitchell's in SF, so when I saw the price was about $14 for three small scoops, I figured it's because the server told me they actually pick up the ice cream themselves. Again, I was celebrating...so, OK. When they delivered the sundae, it looked dry (no hot fudge). I mentioned to the person serving me this observation and she said, "oh it just melted to the bottom." I really should have asked for more at that point, but the previously empty shop started to fill up after a class next door had ended, so I just walked over to eat. Usually a hot fudge sundae, you should experience the cold ice cream and the hot fudge with every bite and unfortunately this was not the case here. I could barely see or taste the hot fudge at all. Because it was such a small dish, I was done fairly quickly and just left, pretty disappointed. Considering all the options nearby, including Baskin-Robbins right across the way, I don't think I will be returning. Sadly. read more
