I've never been so insulted. These clowns must have assumed they were stolen. "Where'd you get them? Why are you selling?..." Hey pal, I have multiple instruments and these were two I almost never play (as if it's any of their business). They claimed there were problems with both and weren't interested. Now, I have done business with them multiple times, but they can kiss this customer goodbye! I'm not a thief, but these guys are jerks. To prove these were from my personal collection, I've included a picture of my remaining guitars. I ended up gifting the guitars to my niece.

Were they closed for summer vacation again and just didn't tell anyone? Sorry, but I'm all done here. You've wasted enough of my time. At one time Portland Music Co. was the best in the city. Those days are gone. It's better to buy music online nowadays anyway. The prices are often marked down by 20% or more if you get in on a holiday sale or something.

We went there almost a week ago, to find a religious medal, on which I've already bought online…read moresimilar (same size, and one smaller than a dime size). This medal was the perfect size for my needs. I also purchased two more pendants. Paid for with my Credit Card. Sunday, I decided to re-arrange my pendants to go with my other pendants, and none of them fit my gold chain. I also found some gold rings to attach to my medals, and one of them didn't even fit inside my ring. I decided to return the two pendants. We drove all the way to Beaverton, just blocks away from the shop, when I took my receipt out of my purse, where it's been, to make sure I have it, when I read my receipt. (see photo below). I freaked out! Yes, I'm blocks away, and I'm freaking out, that they won't take it back. 20% RESTOCKING FEE? No return on jewelry and guns (I can understand guns, but jewelry?) I am not a crook, I'm an honest citizen, a previous customer, who gave them a good review, the first time. I decided to go back home and think about what else I could do! They didn't tell me any of THAT! They were busy! I opened a Credit Card Dispute on the phone, that evening. I also try to sell one of the pendants, to a friend of mine who like religious stuff, maybe, I can try to dispute the other pendant. After much talking, she decided to buy it for her daughter's graduation. I told her: I'll throw in the box and put a bow on it. I also decided, to keep the other pendant, that didn't fit my original chain, for a gift to my granddaughter's graduation (hopefully she won't see my review, and add a more expensive gold chain from my collection). I closed the dispute! LESSON LEARNED HERE: Make sure you understand the store's policy, before you take out your wallet. I could have been in a worst situation, I am glad, I found other solutions. For other people, not so lucky, you've been warned!

I purchased a plectrum banjo off e-bay recently. It was made my Jim Cox, a Master Luthier from…read moreMaine, a custom order. The banjo is bird's eye maple with plenty of inlay and dressings. The head was badly worn and action was too high. It had been sitting in a closet for awhile and needed some help. Now a luthier may be fantastic with guitars, but banjo's are a different critter. You really have to know what you're doing. I own four banjo's so I found this out the hard way. Dan had a bit of trouble finding the proper head, but he persevered and obtained one. He installed the head, lowered the action and set up the instrument properly. This was not an easy repair and I would not trust just any luthier with it. Dan had the knowledge and expertise to do it right! Now this beautiful banjo sounds just as good as it looks, I am proud to add it to my collection. Thanks Dan, Del
