This store is outstanding. As soon as I walked in I felt as I had stepped into audition for the School of Rock! People playing guitars, kids hitting drums, old men playing on synthesizers, the ambiance was alive. I popped in here as I was shopping at Nordstrom rack and figured I'd check this place out. I headed to the drum area to check out the latest and greatest electronic drum kits. I tested a few kits out and they all worked just fine. The highlight of my visit was chatting with Paul on the shop floor. Paul knew a great deal about all of the drum kits, he advised me which one would work best for me, and he was totally upfront and unbiased. I will definitely be visiting this store when I decide which drum kit I would like to buy. read more

Whenever I come here, I feel like I can. actually ask a question without an eye roll or a Sigh these guys know how to do their jobs, and I highly recommend this place. Everyone know that Guitar Center has awesome inventory and if you need anything that's has anything to do with pro audio , lighting or instruments......that's the place to go. It's common knowledge. Here's my beef....... Every time I have ever been there to purchase anything the staff there seems so up their own ass most of the time and I'm made to feel like they're doing me a favor by just ringing me up for the sale and I'm always leaving the store saying to my self........What a fucking asshole that guy was. I've been to the Guitar Center several times in the last three months, the first time involved a warranty on a guitar purchased from another vendor. The guitar failed and the Guitar Center in Englewood CO helped me resolve that issue. Jake in Englewood was very helpful. I later returned to that store and purchased a Guild acoustic guitar from Matt. Matt was excellent. Today I visited the Guitar Center store on Colorado Blvd. to purchase a guitar case. This I did with Cameron's help. These Guitar Center employees are very good with customer service. They all provided service and were professional. read more

I have been shopping for a guitar for my kid, and all over Facebook Guitar Centers has the Jackson Dinky advertised at 199.00$ I called the store in Centennial as it's close to me. The guy there Memphis told me there was one in Colorado Springs and that he would have it shipped to his store within three days. Now everyone avoids my calls, is rude to me in the store and no one knows where the guitar is. Maybe it's employee theft who knows but will not be back. First off: mad props to Store Manager Rachel - she's rock star level at her job. That said, on to the review of this store. Anyone who has a negative review of this store is either A) an unnecessarily rude and uninformed individual who doesn't know how to effectively communicate what they need, and/or B) just a terrible person. #1 this store does a great job of managing their inventory - especially new/used pedals and guitars. I have found ~75% of the time this store has items in stock that other Guitar Centers around the Denver area don't. #2 Most importantly, their staff and managers are friendly, knowledgeable, and just flat out cool people. For example, the store manager (Rockstar Rachel) answered my phone call ~30 mins before the store even opened, and was then able to work some serious magic to help me with two separate returns that were complicated due to how I purchased them (online order that was picked up at a different store, returned and then exchanged - it was very complicated how the other store did it, and she figured it out in ~2 minutes. This guitar center has my blessing, but what do I know - I've just been in and out of music stores for ~25 years in 4 different states. read more

Went in tonight for new strings and was greeted at the door, walked over towards strings and a guy volunteered where the strings were and how they were divided. Found my strings and walked around checking out all the gear and at every point there was someone available and happy to talk. I came into the store a couple nights ago and was treated quickly, expertly and kindly... There were other people in the store, but really I didn't see any issues with how anybody was being treated. I hope to never give business to the Guitar Center on S Colorado Blvd. again. First they sold me an expensive keyboard that had been open before and had keys that were cracked and not working. They didn't have a case in stock, so one was sent to me. When I went to return the items, Customer service was so bad that I spent 1 1/2 hours in the store. They tried to sell me another keyboard that had 2 items missing from the box. They immediately processed the return on the case and then wouldn't sell it back to me when I wanted it for the new keyboard. They took the receipt from me for the keyboard and then couldn't find it when they eventually got around to processing the return. I recommend avoiding this store. read more

My daughter and I stop by this Guitar Center when she needs work done on her guitar. We've been in 3 times for fixes, they've always helped right away. I've bought picks, strings, practice amps and cables here, never made a big purchase, and always had folks ask if we needed help finding things. I walked in at 2pm on a Wednesday to see what was going wrong with my son's electric guitar. Someone helped me at the repair counter within a minute. The man behind the counter was working on a guitar but moved it aside to help me. I explained that the guitar or amp cable was no longer working. He tested out in his amp and diagnosed that the plug in part on the guitar was broken. He opened it up, brought it back to solder the lose wiring. It was done in 10 minutes and I paid 30 bucks and left! read more

Wow, this place has the worse customer service I've ever experienced in my life. I came in here to look at beginner guitars. I got about five feet from walking in the door when one of the clerks there told me I needed to take off my backpack and leave it behind the counter. I was wearing a stuffed animal backpack which barely fits a cell phone and a wallet. It's also shaped like an elephant. I told him it's just a small purse. He just gave me a dirty look and repeated to me to leave it behind the counter. First off, there were other women customers in there with purses big enough to stuff a small child in that were allowed to carry them. Second, you can eat crap for assuming I would steal something. Third, I can't fit anything in that damn bag even if I did want to steal something. I refused to turn over my tiny ass bag just to browse and walked right back out. I will not even think about spending money in a store that discriminates against people. I have a lot of friends that are in bands and I'll make sure to let them know never to come here. read more

Had to run around and serve myself. Asking questions seemed to be an annoyance to staff. I spent 3 hours in here the other day and the whole time, I couldn't get one question out of my head. How do these guys hear anything on the phone, let alone hear the phone ring? I went here under the assumption that I was going to need a left-handed, 3/4 size guitar, but after spending some time talking with a few of the staff members, it was determined that I am actually fully ambidextrous when it comes to playing guitars. Since I haven't really started learning to play yet, I haven't developed any habits with either hand, so I can go either way. Once we determined that I could go right or left, the decision to go right was easy considering there are 6 lefty electric guitars in the entire store. The next thing I was helped with was size. I have small hands. We're talking circus freak small here. I was convinced that I was going to have to get a smaller guitar, but after being shown a couple of the more difficult chords as far as reach on a regular guitar, I was convinced that I could handle a regular sized guitar. Without their help, I would have been walking around with a weird looking lefty guitar. The irony is that with their help, I was able to get a guitar for free from a buddy who no longer uses his, so I didn't get a guitar from them, but I did buy and amp. However, the downside about this place is that it is constantly busy and most customers need help. While the staff is incredibly knowledgeable, there just aren't enough of them to go around. Just waiting for the guy who helped us to have a free moment to ring up the amp took about 20 minutes. I was also incredibly annoyed by the security upon leaving the store. I had to show my receipt, which wouldn't have been so bad had I not had to wait while he checked an incoming customer's bag. I understand this stuff is expensive to lose, but you don't need to make me feel like I'm checking into rehab or something. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but some of that could be attributed to the fact that I went with my father, who has been playing guitar for around 40 years now. read more

I hate this place. I will do just about anything not to go here. First off, everything is marked up. If you wanna buy something new, just get it online at Musician's Friend. You won't have to deal with the awful parking lot, horrible customer service, or jackass playing whatever Nirvana song on some XTREME axe. Second, you are treated like a prisoner there. You are practically frisked as you walk in and out of the store and at all times you feel like you have stolen something.... when really it is GC that has stolen from you... stolen your precious time and energy that you have given to this lousy store. I have doing business with Guitar Center particularly at the store on south Colorado boulevard since they originally opened about 20 years ago. Over the years, staff changes have taken place but, the care and attention of the people at GC especially for a large corporation, remains exceptional. Memphis, Ryan, and Pedro at the Colorado boulevard store along with Preston, Joe and Corbin the guitar tech in Englewood have an acute understanding of delivering value by doing all that they can make sure that I left the store satisfied. I am a business owner and greatly appreciate the effort and the expertise that these fine gentleman have offered me. So, if you are in the market for a guitar, a pedal or anything related to guitars, look up any of these men and I assure you that you will be taken care of. Well done gentlemen! read more

Very disappointed. Have been to many Guitar Centers and this one is definitely the worst. I have purchased products from this location 3 separate times, only to get home and find out that the product does not work. These are obviously items that have been purchased by other customers, returned and simply put back on the shelf to sell as if they were brand new, at full price. They don't even check to see if it still works before selling it again. I have also paid to get my bass guitar "professionally" set up here. I get my bass home and see that they've literally just replaced the strings and charged me $100. No neck adjustment at all and they didn't even correct the intonation. I had to do the work myself after paying them to do it. All of this on top of rude staff that have given me huge attitude and acted like I was annoying them with a simple question like, "Do you have xyz in stock?" Completely unacceptable. I will never shop at Guitar Center ever again. Day One: I was looking for midi software. Read the bad reviews online, but thought I'd give them a chance -- besides, I work in Denver and they are just down the street from my office. I called and talked with the pro guy who tried to be helpful, he looked up the software and said he had it. I drove there and then waited 30 minutes for help. Then it turns out they only had the box, no software. At this point I wasn't upset with him, but annoyed by the long wait to find out he didn't really have the software. People make mistakes, I understand that. To his credit, he called all of his other stores, but no one had what I needed. Fine. I left; ended up finding what I needed online ... but needed a new midi interface. Day Two: went back and the two monkeys at the front of the store accosted me, made me empty out my laptop bag, wanted to write my laptop's serial number down (they didn't even know where to find it), told me all of this was to protect against me swapping out my Mac for one of theirs ... and I hadn't even stepped into their store. TSA shows more courtesy than these buffoons. They made me out to be a criminal before I even stepped into their store. How is it I can go to a Mac store, with laptop bag in tow, and I get bombarded with people trying to help me and made to feel extremely welcome? But I go to Guitar Center, with a specific laptop-music need and I am treated so poorly? I left and told them I'm going to Boulder to shop at Wind Over the Earth or Robb's Music where people are treated well. These two idiots made snarky comments and chuckled as I left. read more

This store is an embarrassment. I paid over 2 grand for a Les Paul that turned out to have a wiring issue a few weeks later. I had a warranty and instead of them getting after it right away and overnighting a part for me, it has taken over a month and a half to even start. They STILL don't have the part in. I will never go to this store again and will tell every band and musician I know in the city to avoid this company. Unbelievably terrible customer service. Rude salespeople and WAY over priced! I waited 30 min in the store before someone asked if they could help me. Salespeople were busy playing on their cell phones. I was looking for a set of DJ headphones from Numark. They didn't have the kind that I wanted but was told they could special order them. I showed the sales guy the Amazon website for the headphones I wanted (priced at $105) and the sales guy told me $250. Really?? Left without buying anything from them. I did however complete my checkout on Amazon before I left the store. I feel really disappointed that I couldn't purchase something from them, but c'mon - $150 more than a web price?? Given the pricing and the overall customer service - 2 stars. I won't be going back. read more

Went to use the restroom-dirty and no toilet paper. There were rolls of paper towels on the floor to use. Nice. Guitar Center. Sigh. I dread going in there for so many reasons. You are guaranteed to get what's left of your hearing taken away by some dildo playing Seven Nation Army for 45 minutes. (Practice at home.... the staff hates your guts) They carry mostly entry level stuff with one or two nice instruments scattered here and there. But most importantly, GC quite simply works in a pinch if I need sticks 30 minutes before a gig because store choices are limited. I'm a full time pro and I really just want to get in and buy what I need and get the fuck out without some condescending little prick who couldn't play his way out of a paper bag, passive aggressively telling me how only idiots could like Rammstein. So whatever. They get some of my money and that's all that matters to them. read more

I evidently have had quite a different experience here. The store is just a door down from Lollicup. During the summer my sons and I often spent time together starting with a boba drink and then heading to GC. My older son plays drums, guitar, bass, synth, you name it. My youngest is an aspiring drummer. We went into the store so much over the summer that many of the employees know them by name, and if I wander in on my own, ask where they are and a few are genuinely disappointed that I didn't bring them in (I have pretty cool kids)... I have bought an amp, a MIDI controller, some software, strings and other odds and ends from there, but I obviously don't buy something every time I go in. Sure there are some vulture salespeople, but, for the most part, the staff is fairly helpful and always accommodating. I am, by no stretch of the imagination a professional or even decent musician. I go in and mess around in my eternal quest to find my holy grail guitar. The cool thing about this store is that they have all of the gear displayed and accessible without help from the staff. So you can mess around without the hassle. As far as the door person, I will admit that is a bit odd, but even Best Buy checks receipts on occasion. read more

One of the salesmen needed help and he asked a fellow salesmen for help. All the other guy said was "I'm busy helping a customer" and pointed at me when he wasn't even helping me at all. So I figured since he says he's helping me I might as well put him to it, so I walked up to him and asked him if they had a pair of Bose noise cancelation headphones and he straight up said "nope" in a very rude manner. From our first conversation, he set the perfect expectations of best and worst case scenarios for the repairs needed. He also set a clear expectation of what the next steps would be and when I would be informed. All those expectations were met within his outline. He also provided me with the news that he thought the repair would be even less expensive than the worst case scenario or he had originally thought. I can't speak loudly enough to how much integrity that displays not only in Jeremy, but the entire GC organization.
