AYCE- All You Can Eat cherry picking in Cherry Valley⁣ ⁣ Some kind folks in Cherry Valley have an astounding harvest of nature's finest fleshy drupes. They are so kind that they allow you to eat all you desire whilst picking cherries! ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Some tips and tricks:⁣ (1) squeeze the firm cherry gently, looking for any juices that may seep from the holes of fruit flies. See juice? Throw it down.⁣ ⁣ (2) do your best to keep the stems on. This not only ensures a clean break from the branch, but it also helps keeps out bacteria from entering the cherry. ⁣ ⁣ (3) AYCE means just that, restrooms are offered midway through the orchard. *Eat, eat, bucket. Eat, eat, bucket.* (Repeat as necessary and at your own risk.)⁣ ⁣ ⁣ An Acrostic poem for the gentle humans of Guldseth Cherry Orchard:⁣ ⁣ Cherry bombs away!⁣ He laughed as I made way,⁣ Eagerly skipping towards the⁣ Restroom... I have no⁣ Restraint for ALL⁣ YOU CAN EAT⁣ Thank you to the family behind Guldseth Cherry Orchard and Vegetable Garden for a cheerfully cherry-licious time~⁣ ⁣ ⁣

We went there. He told us the season to pick is in June but now they have plumbs. He said he doesn't use sprays on his food (note we were talking about the apples and plumbs). It is cash only. The man there (John) was very friendly and knowledgeable.

Cherries we picked to take home ($4 a lb). This amounted to about $15 worth of cherries.

The Soudough shop was Amaxing. We got the fresh cheddar and jakapeno sourdough bread. Dipped with their farm made balsamic blackberry vinegar and olive oil. So crispy on top and soft dough inside. The matcha room was so good especially the jasmine tea macha and bnb matcha latte. Pizza the sourdough crust with urugula, goat cheese ,figs . Wow . Live music was so enjoyable. The Monark band performed well. Chandelier hanging all over the trees . The cafe and food stands were all open and so many to choose from. Sourdough donuts, burgers, fried with lavender solo. Drinks their signature Lavender ice tea. Be back

We have been to 123 Farm before, and while it remains a visually stunning place, our recent…read moreSaturday visit left us feeling that the event has gotten much more expensive while losing some of its original natural charm and value. The Good: Parking Logistics: The parking lot has been moved closer to the flower fields this year, which is a massive upgrade in convenience compared to previous years. The Atmosphere & Maze: The farm decorations are beautiful, especially the purple cloths hung between the rows of large trees that catch the wind. Our kids also thoroughly enjoyed the Lavender Pallet Maze. It features a fun True/False lavender trivia game inside that kept our son engaged enough to want to do it twice. The Petting Zoo: The animals were quite active (bunnies, a Polish chicken, goats, and a very soft alpaca). It's a nice stop for kids, though parents of timid children should watch out as the little goats can be a bit pushy! The Disappointing: Over-Commercialization: There are massive lighting setups in the flower fields now. It feels like there is too much human intervention, and the lavender didn't look as healthy or vibrant as it did during our first visit. Additionally, most of the fields were already harvested and cut flat. I don't think there will be much of bloom later in the month. Food & Pricing Downgrades: We ordered the Lavender Smash Burger and Lavender Carne Asada Fries. The burger patty was overly salty and the fries lacked crispiness. Two years ago, the specialty drinks (Strawberry Lavender Lemonade and Iced Tea) came with a fresh sprig of lavender. This year, there was no garnish at all. The prices have gone up, but the experience feels stripped down. The "No Water" Policy: The farm is incredibly dry and dusty. Selling lemonade here must be an absolute goldmine because they do not provide water. When my husband went around to the stands to ask for water or extra ice cups, he was told no stand has water, and a cashier literally rolled her eyes at him. Word of advice: Bring plenty of your own water and leave it in the car! The "Free" Kids' Craft: The advertised free craft was a huge letdown. It was just basic coloring pages on postcards with zero staff guidance. The actual interactive crafts require an extra fee, which felt cheap considering the high price of admission. The nearby games were also poorly maintained--the foosball table was so old and broken that it used a ping-pong ball that the soccer men couldn't even hit. Tips for Parents: Check the daily schedule carefully before lounging around! We mistakenly thought crafts started in the evening, but weekend activities actually start at 1:00 PM. Overall, it's still a decent day trip for photos, but bring your own hydration, manage your expectations on the food, and be prepared for a very commercialized experience.

The entire place is set up like colonial America, and the attention to detail is incredible. All of the staff stay fully in character the entire time, and their costumes are beautifully made and very detailed. It really adds to the whole experience. The farm itself isn't your typical farm,it's more of a historical village with different stations set up to demonstrate things like candle making, crocheting from that time period, how the judicial system worked, and even the types of games people used to play. One of the highlights was the Revolutionary War reenactment at the end, where the kids actually got to participate as soldiers. It was such a cool experience and also really educational at the same time. I went as part of a school group, but you could definitely visit on your own and still have a great time. The food was good, but the baked goods were the real standout -- fresh breads, pies, cookies, homemade ice cream, shakes... everything tasted amazing. I also liked that you can order ahead online and just pick up when you get there. The staff were incredibly patient and kind with the kids, even when they got a little impatient, which I really appreciated. Overall, it felt like being transported back in time, and I would absolutely love to come back again.

The $45 per person covers entry, in addition to one apple cider can (a pretty large one), an apple treat (we got apple pie made at a local bakery), and a bag of apples. We got there about half an hour before opening and were one of the first ones there, which was helpful when choosing/picking apples as later on the farm got busier. The apples were a fair size--lots of damaged ones but I'm sure that means they don't use any pesticides or anything. The farm also had two cute and friendly kitties that came up to us! Overall, I would recommend this farm for a nice little getaway from LA city life. I would recommend booking a reservation and arriving early, as parking can get packed and the farm does get pretty busy.

In the past we went apple picking at one of the nearby, bigger apple farms, but we enjoyed this one a lot! It's smaller than the more popular ones nearby, but I liked how it wasn't crowded. We were able to take our time picking apples, and we were able to find lots of red, juicy apples to bring home! There was a cute, friendly cat on the farm along with a pig and 2 mini horses. The scenery nearby was so pretty, and there were plenty of trees to pick apples from. I really enjoyed my experience, and would love to come back next year!

They also have non alcoholic drinks available and a bbq vendor there. Great for a nice meal. I really liked the place even though it was a smaller orchard because I feel like it embodies what I'm looking for when I go to an apple orchard. It's immersive and nature-y with such great vibes. It was quiet, bright, and peaceful. Everywhere else I stopped by was WAY overcrowded and stressful, but not here. It's family owned and it had that personal touch. We had a chance to speak with the owner, and he knew so much about apples and was so friendly. This place was definitely my highlight of Oak Glen and I'm looking forward to go back.

The apple cider was good, but I would've preferred it to be colder and not served in a Styrofoam cup. I'm assuming that's because it was the end of the day and it looked like they were running out of apple cider and other materials. I also got the apple cider popsicle for $2 which was a good deal. It was good, but I didn't like how the juice separated from the water during the freezing so it tasted like regular ice by the time I got to the core of the popsicle. For food, I tried their Strawberry Banana Sweet Bread and that was my favorite thing! It was not too sweet and moist. It was $6.50, but not too bad for a whole loaf. The interior was fun and rustic.
