Riley's Farm is one of venues along Oak Glen Road, and it offers an opportunity to step back into colonial times. You will find their staff in period costume. During the week you can even watch school groups experience living history adventures including those of both our Revolutionary and Civil Wars. There's also a bakery in site that offers both lunch/dinner and dessert options. It's adjoined to a colonial tavern that appears to no longer be full service (at least for lunch) but still allows entry for dining. I recommend their chicken pot pies, but there are many other food choices on their menu. The grounds afford a nice little stroll simulating a step back into simpler times, and the costumed staff helps to promote that very perception. You'll will even find a pillory for the naughty. It's a fun little detour to your Oak Glen apple picking!

Beautiful farm with a fun and challenging corn maze, apple picking (seasonally), pumpkins (seasonally), tractor rides, apple cider pressing, lovely gift shop, all surrounded by beautiful mountain views. Great for a date, girls outing or family fun. Lovely grounds and a rustic but beautifully maintained landscape. Will definitely return!

We always enjoy a trip to the farm. Everyone is nice and helpful in the store. The food is good, wish the portions were a bit larger but hey. We take chairs and blankets making a day of it. Peaceful views even with a crowd of people.

First stop as you're approaching Glen Oaks. Definitely a colonialism patriotism experience visiting here. That's what makes them different. You have to explore beyond the front yard and go behind the orchard as there is more to explore. We decided to have the apple dumpling here. Was a bit disappointed because the caramel sauce was like a sticky glue instead of it being soft and runny. Watch out for dentures those who wear them! The chicken pot pie was also watery runny instead of creamy packed consistency. The food can be better. The farm pretty much have things for different ages to explore. Kind of makes you feel like you're visiting during the puritans era as far as ambiance goes. They have the animals petting area, blacksmith, orchards, flower blooms. The house was nostalgic but hope they can fix it up, as some area were noticeably falling apart. Friendly staff overall during our first time visit.

What a beautiful night with our family at the Christmas in the Colonies. The service, food and ambience were superb. I love that you can come here and not only have an experience but also hear about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! We'll be making this visit a family tradition.

We haven't been here in several years. It was worth the drive. Came for their chicken pot pies. So good! Nice area to walk around and they have a small souvenir barn. Some of the workers are dress from the period. Definitely recommend you visit.

Ask the Community - Riley's Farm

    Do they offer hayrides?

I took a hayride when I was there. I was with a group. The hayride was part of the experience.

Is the admission free? Also how much is the apple picking on weekends? And is the restaurant over open for public?without reservations?

I think you can park there for free and go to the restaurant. You order at the window. Then you can eat inside, outside on the patio, or take it to go. You do not need a reservation. The restaurant is open to the public.

    Are you open on sundays?

No, they are closed on Sundays. Please see more info on their website: https://rileysfarm.com/index.php/information/hours/.

Are there clean restroom? No portable potties?

    Yes

    Is this place pet friendly?

You can bring dogs as long as they are on a leash and well- behaved.

Any chance a family could go on wed Nov 1? To pick applea?

Only open on weekends for apple picking and visitors. During the week open for school and private groups that have reserved one of their special programs.

    Is U-Pick only on weekends?

Check out the website but I believe yes. At the farm there was a sign that said week day strawberry picking. Call for confirmation.

Is the U-Pick fruit organic or is it sprayed with pesticides?

    Sprayed.

The apple cider was good, but I would've preferred it to be colder and not served in a Styrofoam cup. I'm assuming that's because it was the end of the day and it looked like they were running out of apple cider and other materials. I also got the apple cider popsicle for $2 which was a good deal. It was good, but I didn't like how the juice separated from the water during the freezing so it tasted like regular ice by the time I got to the core of the popsicle. For food, I tried their Strawberry Banana Sweet Bread and that was my favorite thing! It was not too sweet and moist. It was $6.50, but not too bad for a whole loaf. The interior was fun and rustic. There are several things to shop for from different baked goods to nic nacs. The service here was pretty good and the staff seemed nice and personable. There's some parking out front as well as some picnic benches and tables with nice views of the mountains and foliage while you enjoy your treats. Overall, a good stop for some casual shopping and to enjoy a sweet treat if you're ever in the Oak Glen area.

The staff informed us that depending on what apples we want to pick, we would need to head to different parts of the farm and the price would vary. We went towards the pink ladies because I'm a huge fan. We got 2 bags and began slowly twisting the apples off the trees. Our son had a great time that he quickly filled up 2 bags and we ended up spending about $30 on all the apples. We saw they still had some pumpkins, a field for chestnuts, and fields for other types of apples. We may be back to pick other fruits when they are in season. We decided to take a break and there were a couple of stalls to purchase merchandise, snacks, and food. We tried some fresh kettle corn which was hot and popped to perfection. There was so much to see and do at the farm, such as corn maze, petting zoo, and being able to pick a bucket of apples to press your own cider! We lined up at the farm kitchen for lunch for some bbq. While waiting for 45 minutes, I could see them grilling the meats and it looked delicious. I ordered tri-tip sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, some ribs, apple slaw, and some cowboy beans. They gave us the bbq sauce on the side to put as much as we want on the meats. The meats were salty, which was disappointing, and the tri-tip was slightly tough. The ribs weren't fall of the bones, but perhaps I was expecting too much. After putting the bbq sauce on the meats, it did balance out the saltiness. The cowboy beans were ok and the apple slaw was my favorite. It had a good balance of sweet from the apples they grow and the vinegar taste that was mixed in with the other ingredients. Before we left the farm, I had to buy a small bottle of cold apple cider and a sugar free apple pie. The apple cider was definitely refreshing on a hot day and it wasn't too sweet! We arrived shortly after the farm opened up on a Saturday and was able to find a spot in the parking lot that was almost full. I read that the parking lots open up about an hour before the farm is open, so my advice is to get there early. Otherwise, you'll probably get directed to another parking lot and require some walking. The farm was clean and all the staff we interacted with were friendly.

The $45 per person covers entry, in addition to one apple cider can (a pretty large one), an apple treat (we got apple pie made at a local bakery), and a bag of apples. We got there about half an hour before opening and were one of the first ones there, which was helpful when choosing/picking apples as later on the farm got busier. You can also do a ride-a-long on a tractor that takes you around the farm. We stopped at the upper lot to pick apples & pears first, and had some BBQ inside the packing shed. We had the chicken cowboy plate ($27) as well as the tri-tip cowboy plate, with 3 sides each. We ended up getting ranch beans, coleslaw, potato salad, and corn bread. Everything was quite tasty, and the apple BBQ sauce was great. The cornbread was also great with butter and honey. Both the chicken and tri-tip were cooked very well and tasted great with the BBQ sauce. Within the packing shed, there were tables/seats and a bar in which you can order drinks and listen to a band while eating. After that, we went fruit picking which was a fun hands-on experience for adults and kids at an affordable price. We also went to the lower farm area where we had desserts. You would order outside, and you can either sit outdoors or go inside of the tavern to sit and eat (there's air conditioning inside) which was nice since it was in the 90s the day that we went. We ordered the apple shake and a blueberry turnover, which were both good. We ended up walking around the grounds to see the pond and the different activities they had to offer. We didn't get to do any of the activities since we went there late and they were about to close. There were also signs showing that they do themed days, which looked really cute and fun. We'll definitely be back again to enjoy the different activities.
