I got dragged into this spot by my pal The Major as we were visiting The Wharf and just touring around to see what was happening at the various bars. The Major mentioned that there was a new bar we should investigate so off we went on an adventure. So our destination was Gulf Babe which is a VERY niche business that seems to be exclusively focused on women. Everything in here is VERY frou-frou except for the fact they ONLY have ONE small bathroom which I would think they would have a LOT more bathrooms in such an establishment. I was happy to see some ladies dressed up very nicely which is uncommon in the more laid back beach life of the area. Overall I would just sum up my brief experience here as just a very expensive place for women. As a man I can't rate this joint more than two stars as it just isn't made for me but for the ladies I think they would rate this as a 4 star joint and if they added more bathrooms maybe a 5 star joint for them. Overall I don't see any reason to make a return visit other to than to appreciate the view of the nicely dressed ladies having fun here but unless I make the unlikely decision to bring one of my seersucker suits to the beach it is doubtful I shall ever return...

I saw this place on TikTok and had to go. The place is cutely decorated. You are able to sit anywhere. We sat at a table and the chairs were metal so they were super cold. My step mom went next door to buy a Shaw bc she felt like it was so cold. We had a male server and he was super sweet and nice. We ordered a round of drinks. I got the cherry martini and it was great. We got the whipped feta and it was super salty. We also got the charcuterie board which was good. We did not have any explanation of the cheese or meat that was served to us. To preface we are from Baton Rouge. I ordered a fisherman's tears but it was way too sweet for me. I would come back with my friends and try the wine

My advice, find a seat, have someone order at the order window, then head to the bar to order drinks. The wait to order food took about a half hour. It was very quick to get our drinks. We were able to snag a couch area on a platform. It was so comfy and we loved the views. A heads up- if you snag a couch like this, kids will get up on the platform and jump off of it. People will step up on the platform and walk extremely close to you. I had to ask a kid to stop throwing sand by us because we were eating our dinner. It was a little chaotic. We were extremely patient and understand, but I could see some people being very upset and annoyed. After ordering, our food came out pretty quick. I started with the coconut grouper bites and they were phenomenal. Light breading, lightly sweat, and flaky. I had the Gulf Grilled Cobia and it was phenomenal. The fish was tender, flaky, and light. No fishiness at all. The sauce on the fish was also delightful. My husband and son had the fajita skewers and both enjoyed them. My husband also had the peel and eat shrimp and said they were amazing at The Gulf. Our drinks were okay. We had better drinks at other places during the week, but they weren't bad. We would return, but try to come on an off-time that wasn't so busy.

Our meals came with fries and the fries tasted like they were cooked two hours ago in old frying oil. Then, we ordered drinks, I got a margarita and it tasted super weird like they put a bunch of club soda in it?? So yeah the environment was nice but if you go I wouldn't order anything. There's another restaurant across the street Cobalt that we went to the night before and their food was amazing! The food quality was way higher and the prices were great!

Although this is definitely a preferable location given its adjacency to downtown Pensacola. The drinks were outstanding. Everyone raved about the scallops. I will definitely be re-ordering the crab avocado salad. It was off the charts. The mushrooms and brussels sprouts were amazing. and the Australian ribeye was delicious. My husband felt it was the best steak he's had. I had some fatty pieces so i wasn't as enthused but the good pieces I had were absolutely delicious melt in your mouth. Obviously, we had a dessert for my birthday and that was a sweet treat! peanut butter chocolate dessert. Maybe a torte? I thoroughly enjoyed it and just overall had a great evening here. The booth was so comfortable and the restaurant is appointed to a degree you don't frequently find in this part of the country. It was very tastefully done. We'll for sure be back and look forward to trying the pearl side next time!

There were 4 of us with me the food allergies and plus a plant based non meat/fish eater. Alesha took time to get all my allergies and helped keep the chef informed. Although I had spoken with Trevor the day before because of cautious review my order had to be changed due to my soy allergy. Nothing that came to the table that night was a disappointment. My dinner along with my dinner mates meal all enjoyed ever bit. The. Appetizer was oysters on a half shell with very taste sauces even the horse radish sauce was pleasant per report. The drinks were refreshing and excellent. The mixologist at the bar did a fantastic job Due to an error in our bar orders we were actually provided our first order on the house. An unexpected but much appreciated sign of impeccable service. The Citrus Ginger Salad was very good, it contains chick peas, Quinoa and a whole lot more. The grilled asparagus was crisp, just a hint of salt and no strings and not tough It was a very satisfying meal choice My dinner mates ordered calamari, grilled shrimp scallops and a few of the specials. Every dish was served with a flourish and with great flavor, Alesha continued to provide excellent service through our last bites of food. I'm looking forward to my next opportunity to visit again.

If you know you are going to have a pretty substantial wait going into it, then you can prepare yourself. There are shops and outdoor seats to occupy you a bit. The food is consistently good. Service is good. The prices can be high for some things, but you get large portions. You won't leave hungry. I love their crab legs. That is what my friends wanted so it's the first place I thought of to go. But their non-seafood loving teenager was thrilled the salad bar had salad and rolls and pasta salad. She was so full of that, she could only eat one of her chicken fingers. We had the oyster sampler platter. I have always loved being able to make my own cocktail sauce. Friends got the appetizer sampler with popcorn shrimp and fried pickles and one more thing i can't remember right now, but it was also a hit. My husband's grouper was huge. We left with several to go boxes. We will be back!

They have what's called "Pepper Jelly Vinaigrette" as a dressing. I am sold! I will be getting the salad bar from now on, just to have that dressing, if nothing else. It is one of the best I've ever tasted! When I told the manager that I was glad to see that, he informed me that they had a new chef who wanted to try it on the salad bar. He added that it's been a big hit. I'm hoping that chef stays there, as long as I continue to eat there, and if he ever leaves, that they have the recipe. You gotta try it because it's different and makes your salad absolutely delicious! Oh, the Bloody Mary is good too!
