I drove down from Vermont and had to have a big repair done that my VW dealership back home missed and the local dealership in town wanted to way overcharge me for. These guys did a great job. They were thorough and explained everything that needed to be done and why so that I would feel safe and confident on the drive home. And their pricing was competitive. The owner even offered to throw in some parts at cost to help me out. Shout out to Mike and Sam the mechanic who got on the phone with me and answered all my questions (who does that!) and Mike who personally made sure I felt well taken care of and paid attention to all of my concerns. First time, great experience. Second time, took the car in and we had to take it back a second time for them to fix what they fixed. We thought it was a one-off. Then we referred my mom, she had the same problem. They fixed something but she still had the same problem. So she had to bring it back twice. Most recently we took our car in to have the tie rod ends fixed. We got he car back with a very very VERY loud noise. We took it back and they denied the issue. At this point we asked for our money back and the owner got aggressive. Additionally they screwed up our lug nuts so we can't get our tires off. So now we have to repay to do their work and fix the lug nuts/bolts they destroyed. They started out ok, but went downhill fast. A shame because at first we thought they were trustworthy. I recommend not taking your chances unless it's something you have time to do two or three times over.... read more

I took my 2023 Acura RDX for oil change and tire rotation, while this is not complicated it still must be done correctly. The technician completed the job and returned the car in good condition. The maintenance minder was reset and there were no dirty handprints or greasy footprints in or on the car. The shop conditions were immaculate, the floor was clean and there were no piles of junk around. I believe this shows that all involved, from the owners to lot people, care about where they work and how they work. I will certainly return again. We were told by Gulf Euro Clinic that our 2011 Audi Q7 needed a transmission. They gave us a quote for a new and used transmission. Considering the year of the vehicle we went with the used which was half the price. They "CLAIMED" they put the used transmission that THEY purchased in it and it was bad so they had to get another used transmission. So THEY purchased another used transmission and then told us that one was also bad?!? BUT now wanted us to also compensate them for the labor on top of the cost for the transmission for them to remove the first faulty transmission that "they vetted and purchased" and put the second used transmission in. We do not live in town so we were trusting them and arranging these repairs from a distance and we were really hoping for integrity from a local shop. Unfortunately, that is not what we received. They told us that what we were getting was basically our Audi back with the same problem it had when it went in and demanded that we pay the remaining balance appx $7500 on top of the $2500 deposit we had already paid. Guessing the original diagnosis may not have been accurate and regret having our car towed to Gulf Euro Clinic. Be cautious if bringing your vehicle here especially if they are doing the diagnosing. read more

I don't know what happened, but this business location is closed and it's just Terry ( who doesn't do the work) in someone else's location now. Maybe it got too big, too fast, but whatever the situation is, all of the things that people mention in the reviews, aren't there anymore. I suspect I paid for my brakes plus a commission to Terry for bringing business into that shop. I went to the VW dealership first and they handed me a estimate for a new engine in my 2021 VW Jetta, that only has 64,000 miles, 4,000 miles past the warranty by the way, for $8,000!!! I was staying in the area for 5 weeks, doing the "working remote" thing, while enjoying a nicer climate with my family. Because of the long drive from Chicago, we wanted to have the car checked prior to making our way back up. The customer service here is amazing. The gentleman my wife spoke with over the phone was polite and courteous. When I arrived at the location (which was a little unassuming hideaway), I was greeted with a friendly welcome and he knew who I was as soon as I mentioned my vehicle. The checkup was quick and comprehensive. They performed an oil change and listed a bunch of repairs to consider AFTER we got back to Chicago! Can you believe it? They could've told us that there were priority repairs that needed to be completed immediately before our departure, but they honestly informed us that the brake pads were still healthy, but might need to be replaced by the time we put all the mileage on our return home. Returning to Sarasota/Bradenton for the first time in 16 years. Now, a serious senior, nope, not high school senior! I wish!!! My granddaughter and her best friend of many years accompanied me. I really wanted the girls to experience the best sand in the world ..... Siesta Key. On our return trip, back to North Carolina, early in the morning, on I-75 North, my Honda just stops. AAA towed my Honda to Gulf Auto Clinic. It was the transmission, they said. $5,000 for a used one and $6,500 for a new one. Opting for the new one, I was thinking it would last a very long time. Everyone at Gulf Auto was very nice and helpful. It would take a few days to repair, I stayed another 6 nights. Get a room, rent a car, and the girls needed to return to NC, not wanting to miss any school. They got busy scheduling flights to Asheville and contacting their parents. My granddaughter's mother, my daughter ........ and her life-long friend's father had been in a serious relationship for a some time, until that ended. They had not spoke to each other for 2 years! But this breakdown of my transmission and the repair schedule forced them to communicate. Shortly after returning to NC, about 10 weeks and 2,800 miles later, my transmission falls out, again!! I have my car towed to Hendrick Honda and the repair is $2,251.44. Not a problem, right? My invoice from Gulf Auto Clinic states "24 months and 24,000 mile warranty on all parts and labor". That being the case, I contacted Gulf Auto Clinic, even the Service Advisor at Honda spoke with Gulf Auto to explain the problem with the transmission. A second opinion was requested by Gulf Auto Clinic. Immediately, I went to Fisher's automotive, specializing in transmissions. While there, the owner and I called Gulf Auto, no answer, no call back, no response, for 90 days now. Nothing, nada, zero, zilch, goose eggs!!! I cannot understand how a 5 star business chooses to ignore one issue. BBB of Florida did email me to inform me that Gulf Auto has not responded to them either. Moving on....and this is the good part. My daughter and her significant other are back together. They are such a perfect couple and I am so very happy for them. There is no way I could have arranged this, if I planned for 1,000 years I would not be able to implement this brilliant and genius plan to reunite them. Every time I think of it, I am even more amazed. A very close friend of mine once told me, with regard to life, "it may not be fair, but it's perfect". I understand better now. Also attached is the service/repair report from Hendrick Honda. The repair report from Honda states "broken dowl pins missing". My transmission was replaced by Gulf Auto Clinic 4/9/24. June 19, 2024 my car completely broke down and was towed to Hendrick Honda for repair. There is nothing to indicate the critical dowl pins were in place at the time of breakdown. The last person I spoke with, at Gulf Auto Clinic, was Dameon on Friday morning, June 28, 2024. Dameon requested I obtain a second opinion from a "reputable" auto repair business. I did as asked and took my car to Fishers Towing and Automotive an hour later. While at Fisher Automotive I called Gulf Auto Clinic and did not receive an answer. A message was left with Fishers Automotive contact information. The owner has never been contacted. Such a helpful and honest business. The owner Terry was so amazing. There was an issue with my catalyst converter. He contracted the local Cadillac dealership to see if the work and part was covered under warranty and then had my car brought to the dealership for me. Terry was first able to replace the brake line fluid and change the car filter. Also, when I dropped my car off to be serviced, Terry was able to have someone drop me off at work so I didn't blow my whole day. I do almost all my own car repairs because of many bad experiences with poor mechanics. When my AC stopped working, I suspected I needed a new compressor and didn't want to do it myself so I decided to try out Terry's shop because of the excessive number of great reviews. He agreed it could be the compressor (probably a $1,200 repair) and I wouldn't have given it a second thought if that was the diagnosis. Instead they found a bad relay and too much compressor oil in the AC system. Both were fixed at a very reasonable price and he polished my headlights to "like-new" condition because he noticed how bad they were. I was so impressed that I brought over my daughter's car and he fixed it for half of what Honda wanted to charge. Terry joked that his Mom leaves all the good Yelp reviews. Regardless of where they are coming from, my experience is that they are well earned! read more

Drove all night down from Virginia for a kid's sport tournament at IMG and when backing up from a parking bar, nearly ripped all the plastic off the front of the car. Frustrated, I limped into their shop where they immediately put it on a lift, and had it snapped, screwed, and buttoned back together within 15 minutes. A couple of months ago I went to Gulf Coast Auto on 18th Ave W for an oil change. I was subsequently sold tires and a brake flush, and I obviously needed both. A month or so later I started hearing scraping noises as I went over bumps, and they became progressively worse over time and I assumed it was a broken strut. Because I won't bring my car back to the same mechanic if an unrelated problem crops up immediately, I took it elsewhere. I brought it to Brownies and he told me (after he fixed it) that Gulf Auto did not put a plastic splash shield back on properly after the oil change and it cost me almost $70. I called Terry at Gulf Auto today and he wanted to know why I didn't bring it back to him and I told him what I wrote above and that I thought it was an unrelated problem. He simply refused to pay the bill or provide any sort of compensation and he said he is friends with Brownies so he could have simply asked him about this. This after I spent almost $900 there. read more
