I made my appointment back in December 2021 to be seen by the dentist. The earliest appointment they would give me was today March 9, 2022. I took a day off from work to go to this appointment. When I arrived for my appointment today I was told we have no record of you. Receptionist was not very nice. Are the dentists aware of how rude their receptionist/staff is? My family had been going to this dentist for years several years ago but changed due to insurance. Now I'm back and you have no record of me. Time to find a new dentist... read more

I went to this office on Dec 20th for a cleaning. I had a filling done previously and thought the work was excellent (5 . it was my 1st cleaning with them and the women that did the pictures and scans explained it all like I was 10. After the pictures, she displayed the teeth and pointed out 3 possibly 4 teeth that had some deep pockets. I have had this before and a normal cleaning resolved it. in this case I was told I needed a "deep cleaning" with numbing and it needed 2 visits. I was told my share was $500+ (total was $1000+)). Also, there were 4 follow-up visits at $81 that my ins. would not cover. I asked if I could just get a regular cleaning and was told no. Then she explained in another example of me being 10 that they knew best and if I was not interested in my health there was nothing they could do. I admit to being inappropriate with my frustration as I left but I felt like I was bait and switched. Never told that this expensive procedure was a possibility. Finally, today I received a letter telling me that this office could no longer provide dental care. Just a tale to point out that asking questions in an office that needs to pay for all the toys would be prudent. read more

They screwed up my denture and wanted me to pay for a new one it was like they did it on purpose, when I complained about it they told me not to come back.. Chestnut Hill Dental is by far the best Dentistry practice in the area. Making appointments is always super easy and I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes to be seen. The staff is always kind and thorough, you can tell they truly care about their patients. If you have children, you can rest assured they'll be in good hands. Dr C. and the staff provide a welcoming and fun atmosphere for kids. My 4 year old daughter actually gets excited to go to the dentist! I can't say enough great things about CHD. Moving to a new area can be a trying experience. Finding a new doctor, dentist, etc. is always difficult and can be an expensive endeavor if you do not click with the doctors. Luckily my first shot a dentist was Doctor Chiusano. Not only was I impressed with the cleanliness and modern office, but I found a dentist who cares about his patients. Dr. C takes the time to explain everything he's doing and any concerns he has. His staff, from the front desk to the hygienist are very warm and friendly. Not only have I found the dentist I plan to use for the next 30 years, but I found an office that I do not dread visiting. I'm never kept waiting to see the doc, and when I sit in the chair people are attentive and on top of my comfort, questions, and most importantly, the health of my smile. I will also add, having televisions in the exam rooms makes going to the dentist a much more enjoyable experience. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. C to anybody in the Poconos. We are certainly lucky to have such a talented and caring dentist right here in our small corner of PA. read more

I would never use Chestnut Hill Dental again nor recommend them to anyone else. Standard cleanings and maintenance services are fine but when you have a front tooth completely break off and have an urgent emergency; they can not fit you in. Very disappointed! Dr. Chiusano and his personnel always treated me and my husband professionally and with superior care. We are their patients for over three /four years. Just recently I decided to transfer my daughter's files to this office. Office is clean, modern and very calm. Being such an busy office, there is no visit that I had to wait past my scheduled appointment time. I have never had to be rescheduled or behind with my treatment. Front desk personnel and/or dental hygienist will always accommodate with appointment times. I had some major dental problems and my trust in Dr. Chiusano allowed me to go through successful treatment even though it was a long process with often check ups and several procedures. There is no magic. We have to be also honest and be coming for our scheduled check ups and cleanings. Then Dr. Chiusano is able to help, fix and correct the problem. Following with his recommendations, finally I was able to see progress and such an improvement. I would recommend Dr. Chiusano and his personal to anyone for his professionalism, honesty, calming atmosphere, cleanliness, and friendly staff. No dental visit seems to be a pleasant visit, but I feel comfortable and safe under Chestnut Hill Dental care. read more

I went in for an extraction. Had a Dr. Newman do the procedure. This was approximately 3 and a half weeks ago. When the tooth was taken out, I was able to see the root of the tooth that was behind it...even though "stitched", it was still visible. It almost appears as if part of my gums was ripped out. The process was the most painful procedure I have ever had. I tended the area properly and with care, but it has not healed, and quite possibly (not certainly), bone of my jaw my be exposed. I will be going back ONLY to find out who the superiors are and quite possibly file a formal complaint. The rest of the staff was great, but I feel I paid way too much money to be butchered. There hasnt been a pain free day since. Sadly, I was relying on CHDG to bring me relief. I regret my decision to go there. read more

My wife and I have been going to Chestnut Hill Dental ever since we moved to PA in 2008. We have had nothing but great experiences. The staff is welcoming, friendly and do a tremendous job. As you know finding a good dentist and office is not always the easiest thing. Just a quick story showing how amazing Dr. Chiusano is and the whole staff: Our daughter is 4 and she was attending a pediatric dentist. She ended up having a cavity and was sent to a specialist to get the cavity taken care of....lets just say it didn't go over well and they were not able to take care of it. They had told us the next step is having to knock her out to get the cavity filled. We were not willing to do this unless we HAD to. After that we asked Chestnuthill Dental if we could bring in our daughter with us for our cleanings so she could see that it wasn't scary or painful. They had no issues with us doing that and the way they treated her during those visits made us ask the question...Why don't we have Dr. Chiusano try to work on her cavity?! With no hesitation we setup the appointment and brought her in yesterday. 20 mins later her cavity was treated and filled! She walked out of there so proud of herself and saying "that wasn't bad or scary at all daddy". They made the whole experience as "fun" as it possibly could be and kept her from being nervous or scared. My wife and I are forever grateful for that experience and the fact that we didn't have to put her under and go through any of that anxiety to get her tooth taken care of. My husband and I have been going to Chestnuthill Dental for almost 3 years now but were forced to seek treatment elsewhere. Their payment policy has always been that if you have to have a procedure done which takes two or three appointments that the full payment was divided between by the number of appointments. Thus easing the burden on the customer and being fairly treated by the doctor office. Recently, I was told by Dr. Chiusano that I needed to have a tooth fixed and capped. The cost of the procedure was discussed in length with Dr. Chiusano and the Chestnuthill office personnel. At no time during those discussions was I or my husband (also present) informed that this was no longer the policy followed. Instead less than 24 hours before my appointment I was informed that I had to come up with the full amount which was almost $400. I was told by a lackluster employee that "people were screwing them over, by not coming back for their permanent caps". Well #1 that's so professional to say and #2 I asked her am I one of them? Have I ever not paid my bill? She replied with no, to which I told her that being the case I fail to see the problem with making two payments. During no time did the lackluster employee ever offer to discuss my situation with any superiors at her office. The answer from her was flat out NO! To me this is insulting and what a lack of customer service. I don't think the Chestnuthill Dental office personnel would know what customer service is let alone good customer service if it bit them in the tush. After being given no alternatives or seeing any type of compromise on the lackluster employee's part, I was forced to cancel the appointment. I then had questions for Dr. Chiusano regarding his plan of action regarding the procedure he told me I needed and the lackluster employee flat out refused to let me speak to him. She said, "He doesn't call patients." I find this extremely hard to believe. Any good doctor is available to their patients, especially when the plan of action he has set up for them has been disrupted by "unreasonable office policy". After all the aggravation caused by conversations with the lackluster employee, I arranged to have my husbands and my records ready for pick up and was told that I must sign a form to do that. At no time was I informed that the form indicated that "you may be charged" for the records. This was going too far. I wouldn't be leaving the office if I was not treated badly and in an unreasonable manner and now they want to charge me for records that I have technically already paid for... This is infuriating! I couldn't believe that this type of customer bullying was happening and it was totally uncalled for. I've paid everything without fail, not to mention on time and now they're threatening me with more charges for our records. I called the lackluster employee back informed her that I would not be paying for any records, as I have already paid for them. She replied with, "We only charge if you have a balance on your account." I laughed and said "what a joke, you can't even get in to see the doctor without being frisked so how is it possible to have a balance?" By this time I was absolutely fuming at the lackluster employee's lack of concern and customer service. At no time did she ever say that she would check into the payment issue for me because this was the first I had been informed. There was no "I'm sorry but I have no control over the policy I am expected to follow, or I don't think anything can be done but let me check on it for you. The attitude on the receiving end was just appalling and totally unprofessional. So needless to say I picked up the records and asked the lackluster employee if they were all in the envelope and she said oh yes. I get to my appointment with my new dentist and he looks at the x-rays. They were dated December of 2011. In my opinion this was absolutely without a doubt done on purpose. Why would I need x-rays from 2011 when we both just had them taken the month before on I believe it was February 12, 2013. Score: Dr. Chiusano triple A+++++ / Office TROLLS BIG FAT ZIP. read more
