I've heard so many positive things about Ford's over the years and recently got a chance to give…read morethem a try for a business lunch. They weren't busy just after noon when we got there, so we were quickly seated. The menu is large, with so many options it was hard to choose. I asked the server what he recommended and pretty much went with that. He said the clam chowder and the fish & chips were popular - so that's what I ordered. The clam chowder was pretty good! Not the best I've had - that would be Abe & Louie's or Bank's, both in Boston. But it was very nice and it most definitely scratched the it for traditional Boston clam chowder! Next up was the fish & chips... this was a huge entrée! There were many pieces of fish and each was perfectly battered on the outside and tasty, fresh, delicate cod on the inside... really nice! The tartar sauce was also something slightly elevated from the typical and worked well with the fish. The "chips" were slightly thinner than regular, traditional French fries - too small for my liking, but decently flavored. And I really liked the cole slaw too. Overall - Very nice visit... I look forward to returning!

As always, the food is delicious. I enjoyed my all time favorite Thai Chicken Lettuce Wraps, listed as an appetizer but I eat it as a meal. The various sauces and toppings really make this a meal for two or a takeout option for leftovers. Everyone else in the group enjoyed the flatbreads, burgers, sandwiches and salads. The star of the show was our server in the dining room. She provided us tastings, made sure our beverage glasses were refilled and enlightened us with our free glasses of wine. If you come here ask to sit at Kristy/Kristins table.

Nice, roomy restaurant which never came close to filling up on a Saturday lunch. Booze was tasty but lotsa ice. Kids meals were likely the best deal. Seemed like they were really short staffed which made table service rather slow. Hostesses weren't very welcoming nor that helpful. Kinda just stood around chatting until they were required to act when customers walked up to them to get help. Kitchen staff was hopping! But. The food. Um. Not yum. But not entirely horrible either. Seemed like a lot of stuff was from the night before. Warmed over yet not hot nor warm by the time it got to the table. Stuff under the heat lamp too long got over cooked while the stuff underneath the overcooked stuff was lukewarm to cold. Would think one couldn't mess up donuts, but these were fried in old oil (probably from the night before since we arrived at opening). Blobs of bland dough that were really dark on the outside but gooey, mushy, and not thoroughly cooked on the inside. That bitter taste from old oil really ruined any hope of enjoying what sounded delish on the menu. The donuts were rather disgusting. In general, the food just didn't taste really fresh or mouthwatering. Salty, maybe. From the bread to the entrees, most everything fell flat. An expensive flat. Worth the drive? Overall, while we had good service minus the hostesses, the food & value just doesn't warrant giving it another shot, which is disappointing. It's a place you'd want to really like, but it's missing something significant that makes you want to return to give it one more try. Just wish the food had been a lot better.

Our server was the real deal, too, and spoke with a wonderful accent that proved it. She was helpful and friendly, and the ambience was comfortable and fun. The chips had just the right amount of salt, and the salsa was tasty. I appreciated that one of the salsa options was flavorful without being spicy. (Don't worry; they have a spicy salsa, too, if you have a less tender palate than my own.) My entree, the Bandera Mexicana Enchiladas (with three enchilada sauces in the colors of the Mexican flag), was delicious and filling. I would gladly come back here if in the mood for Mexican food while in the area. Very glad to have visited!

I rate restaurants within their category and concept. I am not comparing a neighborhood breakfast…read morespot to a Michelin star dining experience. If a place consistently delivers tasty food, solid execution, and keeps you wanting to come back, that earns a top rating from me. Ted's Bulletin absolutely does that. We have been to the One Loudoun location several times for breakfast, and it is consistently a great experience. That kind of consistency matters, especially for breakfast service where some places can be hit or miss. One of our favorites has been the huevos rancheros. They serve it on tostadas, which gives the dish a great crispy base and a really satisfying texture. It is flavorful, hearty, and always hits the spot. We have also had their homemade tater tots, and they are excellent. Nicely fried, crisp on the outside, soft inside, and clearly done with care rather than feeling like an afterthought side dish. Their French toast is another strong option and always enjoyable. If you are in the mood for something sweeter, it is a very solid choice. We have also tried the breakfast cinnamon roll. It is definitely generous in size. It is decent and worth trying, but it can be a lot, which is probably why we only order it occasionally. For the kids, the hot chocolate is always a favorite and something they genuinely look forward to each visit. Overall, Ted's Bulletin continues to deliver tasty breakfast food, dependable quality, and a family friendly experience that keeps us coming back. Easy 5 stars from me.

I went with the club sandwich--perfectly fine, but about as memorable as a meeting that could've been an email. Nothing wrong with it, just nothing that would ever bring me back for round two. The fries, on the other hand, showed up crispy and confident... easily the highlight of the plate. There are plenty of solid lunch options in the area, and in hindsight, I probably should've explored one of them instead. I did spot a grilled cheese that looked great walking by--but let's be honest, grilled cheese always looks like it has its life together. It wasn't crowded, service was fine, and nothing was outright bad--it just didn't deliver the kind of experience I've come to expect from Ted's. If I return, it'll be for breakfast, where they seem to know exactly what they're doing.

There there is an Olive Garden nearby so it isn't out by itself, even if it feels like it. The weather was beautiful, so we grabbed a high top in the bar area, overlooking a nice little pond behind the restaurant. The service in the bar was surprisingly good, despite the bar itself being pretty crowded and nearly every table around it being populated. The food was served quickly and they allowed us to customize to our liking (TIP: pay the nominal upcharge to replace your existing side dish to Brussels sprouts with bacon and spiced pecans! Or get it as a side to share) I had the Hickory Grilled Hanger Steak with mashed potatoes and a field greens salad, except no potatoes. The salad was amazing (it has dates in it for a sweetness to balance the sour of the dressing) and the medium rare steak was phenomenal. We each had a glass of beer -- the Pale Face Summer Wheat on draft. It is a classic German Hefeweizen and described as "malty with banana and clove flavors." I tested the banana on my first sip. It was a solid choice. The next day, we worked a 15 hour day without stopping to eat. By the time we finished, we were so tired that we agreed to return. I ordered the same steak and my coworker followed my recommendation. He agreed that this is the steak to order. (even if he ordered his more well done than mine). For the second visit, we ordered the bread pudding for dessert instead of beer with dinner. I suggest splitting the dessert. Don't get me wrong, it was fantastic, but was definitely shareable after a full steak meal.
