This bakery has been on my list for quite sometime. Well, I didn't realize it was in the same shopping center as $7 gyro! It was getting close to their closing so we popped in before we had our late lunch. I'd heard about their famous croissants and breakfast items but they were gone. They did have a nice selection of cookies and desserts. What caught our eye was the bread! Just a f ew items left so we snagged a regular sourdough. Staff was friendly and offered to slice our fresh sourdough bread. It felt so fresh just squeezing it through the bag. They are a small bakery with lots of parking out front. We've been a number of times and I just realized I hadn't left a review. I was turned on to the bakery with a recommendation about their kouign amann. Apparently it's popular, so you either need to go early or luck out. The cream puffs and cookies are great, but I finally got a kouign amann. It's a lovely pastry. The sugar/thin layer of caramel on the top is substantial without being too thick. Just enough to hold and break apart. The laminated dough is nice as well. Not overly buttery, but still light and fluffy. read more

Awesome bakery located in a small shop. My wife and I both ordered breakfast sandwiches and coffee. Both were excellent. Service was on point. There was quite a crowd but they were efficient. This is more of a grab and go place with very limited seating. The baked goods offered included a huge selection. It is very difficult to walk out of there without 10 bags of stuff. read more

Just found my new favorite bakery! Dolce and Ciabatta Bakery is small but brings big flavors! I have been twice and each time service has been fast and friendly. There is a large cold case full of desserts and on top of that is pastries. Pretty much everything you can think of is here. Croissants, whole loaves, cupcakes, danishes, and not to forget their hot menu which includes breakfast sandwiches and coffees. Everything I've tried here has been phenomenal! Plenty of parking outside but there is very little seating inside so plan to take food to go (: prices are a little higher but I'm happy to pay the few extra dollars to support a local small business. read more

Checked out Dolce & Ciabatta Bakery Cafe for the first time this week... They offer a ton of baked goods - including ones suitable for breakfast. But I ordered a breakfast sammich: Croissant stuffed with scrambled eggs, bacon, and cheese, plus a bottle of water. I wanted to order a cold brew - but they don't offer that. Instead, they'll suggest their iced coffee with a shot of espresso added - in general of which I am not a fan. I was going to eat the breakfast sammie on-site - but it was way too warm inside their business. From a seating perspective - there is one two-top table, plus a total of 8 bar stool spots along one side wall and the front window. Eating the breakfast sammie in the car was not a good choice. In hindsight, scrambled eggs in a croissant is a bad idea - if you want the eggs to stay put. The eggs were spilling out constantly as I was eating it. There is a reason that more often - fried eggs are put in breakfast sandwiches. Outside of that - the sammich tasted good and was filling. Service was good! In spite of my initial impression and hopefulness upon entering, I'd prob give it a 3.5 based on my experience that day. I was in the area and this place was referred to me for coffee and pastries. As I entered I was struck by all the amazing looking baked goods. I wanted one of everything! They had scones, muffins, cookies. They also had a lot of croissants, bear claws, cinnamon rolls, and baked goods of that type. In another showcase, there were mini fruit tarts, cream puffs, cheesecakes, napoleons, and more. They were sold out of the chocolate chip cookies so I tried the half and half cookie (half brownie and half chocolate chip cookie). I also got the oatmeal raisin and snickerdoodle cookies. In addition, I got the bread pudding and the chocolate cream puff, and a blueberry scone. Since it was later in the day, I opted for a 16 oz decaf cappuccino. I was disappointed in the half and half cookie as the chocolate chip part barely had any chips and I thought the cookie had way too much sugar content. It was chewy and sticky and not much flavor to it other than the sweetness. The snickerdoodle cookie and oatmeal raisin fared better in the taste test. Those two are my husband's preferred cookies and he likes them. I also thought they had good tastes to them. The bread pudding was tasty and if not for the steep price, I'd prob buy again. But at $8.50 for a square, I'll pass next time. The scone was not what I expected either. It was just average. The cappuccino had a nice bold espresso flavor. But even though it came in a 16 oz cup, it felt very light and upon inspection, it fell short of filling the cup. It's a small place with some seating along the wall and store front window. Although I wasn't greeted when I entered, once I came around to the register, service was friendly. In spite of everything looking fabulous, I was a bit disappointed by my experience there. If I lived closer, I'd go and give it another try. But living an hour away, I won't be making a special trip. If in the area for another event, I'd give it another chance and try some of their other offerings. read more

Stop by here on a late Sunday afternoon, the bakery goods were pretty still stocked. Breads, definitely something I'd come in earlier for next time as they were already pretty low. (Understandable) The service here was super friendly and welcoming. Greeted us as we came in and answered all questions we had regarding bread pre-order and coffee. I was gifted French Macarons from here for my birthday months ago so was excited to finally check the storefront out, as well as grab more of their delicious macarons. I love Dolce & Ciabatta. That's it. End of review. Just kidding. This place is one of Leesburg's hidden gems. Chef Godfrey is a master of his craft. Everything is delicious and so visually appealing- there are no other pastries like this in the area. I love supporting this establishment. My favorite things to order are the sticky bun, chocolate chip muffin, and the cream cheese danish. I will say the muffins here are dessert-like without being cake-like, they are so good! The sandwiches are also excellent! I get the egg-white lover without turkey bacon! I'm sad to see the Fort Evan's Road location shut down, just because it wasn't as small as the Catoctin location and there was more sitting room. The Catoctin location is still cute, but it's more of a pick-up and go location. Staff on-site are always kind and have some awesome recommendations if you don't know what to order. Best service ever and a local gem! I wasn't having the greatest day so I decided to take a short drive in the morning to get a few baked goods. I've seen this bakery on Uber Eats but I didn't know where it was located. It actually ended up being pretty close to home. There was a short line but it gave me time to peruse all the goodies and make my choice. I opted for a coffee cake muffin and cinnamon roll. When I was walking towards the door, one of the staff, Leslie, asked if I was a new customer. I said I was and she told me to wait a minute. She grabbed some pastries and boxed them up with a smile, offering me a gift for coming in. I was so pleasantly surprised at the kind gesture. And every single thing was delicious. Still the best croissants I've had outside of France. This is a fabulous little shop with amazing friendly staff who are always so helpful even when there's a crowd. The bread is amazing - Asiago garlic boule, Italian bread and of course the crisp French bread sticks are our favorites but they also do a great sourdough and a nice apricot bread. Besides the croissants, they make pretty much every pastry you can think of, danish, kougin aman, and more. Delicious cookies, cheesecake, plus sandwiches and fabulous seasonal coffee drinks. If you hate waiting, you can call and order ahead with a pickup time and they'll have it ready and waiting. They make allllll the pies for Thanksgiving and Bûche de Noël. Pre orders are available for holidays and I highly recommend this to avoid disappointment. If you're just dropping by it's always better to get here early as they do have limited choices left by afternoon. It's tiny inside, but bright and modern. There are just two bar areas and one table. It's really better to plan on take out. (They did have a second location with proper seating - I hope they will be able to one day again.) They are currently offering lovely boxes of artisan chocolates as well as specially themed valentines desserts and macarons - get in and get yours soon so you don't miss out! Such a cute place. Bread is good, I have had some of their bakery goods which are fantastic. Today I went for a sandwich. I got the sald on a sandwich. Comes with avocado, red onion, red peppers, cheese, roasted cherry tomatoes and a red pepper yogurt sauce. Man this was fresh, healthy and the bread had a nice crunch. I was pleasantly surprised. Gave this place a second try, this time the service was much better! They were significantly less crowded. I assume that was due to the coffee/espresso production having no problems this time. Instead of a danish, I decided to go with a breakfast sandwich and ordered a croissant with egg, bacon and cheddar (subbed out the swiss, since I don't like swiss cheese). I didn't look at the price when ordering and was a bit surprised by the 12.50 price tag! If you have seen any of my reviews, you would know I don't mind a higher price when the food has high quality ingredients. I was skeptical that a breakfast sandwich would be good enough to justify that high a price; I was wrong! The croissant was so fresh, buttery and flaky; the eggs were cooked perfectly, light and fluffy; the bacon was also of high quality; finally, the cheddar cheese was good (I would have preferred a sharp white cheddar option) too. The total cost was above 20 dollars, after adding a cafe latte and tip. While I would like to have such a delicious sandwich on the regular, but at the price I think I'd only go once a month or so for one. read more

Soooo glad I found this place!! If you want pastries that are beautiful, unique and delicious you have found it! There's nothing like this in Leesburg. Closest for me is Shilla in Tysons or Centreville. It is a cute place and you are immediately greeted by warm and friendly smiles and hellos! My bacon, egg, and cheese on croissant was the best I've had around here! The croissant was buttery and toasted perfectly and there was so much egg (eggs are my favorite)!! The place was busy on a weekday morning but they were quick and efficient...yet still friendly and patient! The Nutella crunch is a must-try and I enjoyed their summer special drink, Vanilla Dream Iced Coffee. Overall they hit it everything on the mark and I literally have nothing but wonderful things to say. If you haven't already go check out Dolce & Ciabatta! So many options! And they were all delicious!! This bakery will have something for everyone. They sell cookies, muffins, cakes, macaroons, coffee, fresh bread, and the list goes on. Also love the name "Dolce and Ciabatta." :) After looking through all the options, we ordered the chocolate croissant, sticky bun, cinnamon rum bun, red velvet whoopie pie, tiramisu, Oreo chocolate chip cookie, Nutella creme volcano, and an iced vanilla latte with oat milk. Employees were really helpful and friendly. By the time we ordered we didn't have to wait long to get all our items. Beautiful bakery with warm, friendly staff and lots of delicious options. I ordered 2 croissant, 1 almond croissant, 2 peppermint biscotti, a chocolate dipped coconut macaroon, a slice of pan Suisse, and a hazelnut latte with almond milk. The croissant were good, but a little more firm than I would have liked. I'm sure they're amazing fresh out of the oven since they still had that delicious, buttery taste, but they were just a tad overbaked. The almond croissant had similar issues in terms of being just the slightest bit overbaked, but the flavor was solid. I do wish that it was a little sweeter and had more of that almond flavor that distinguishes it from the plain croissant. The macaroon was good, but no different than any others I've had anywhere else. I appreciate that the staff tries to ensure that customers are clear on whether they are ordering a macaroon vs. a macaron. The peppermint biscotti was DIVINE! It was delightfully crisp without being prohibitively crunchy. The peppermint frosting was the perfect level of sweetness and the crushed candy cane bits on top added both texture and flavor. My only complaint is that more of the biscotti wasn't covered in that delicious frosting/candy cane mixture. If you are a fan of good quality chocolate and enjoy your pastries on the sweeter side, the pain Suisse is for you. It's chewy. Its rich. It's chocolatey. It has a slightly crispy sugary glaze on top. It's perfect for sharing! The hazelnut latte was very good. The barista took care to prepare it just the way I wanted and I was not disappointed. I planned to order two sandwiches to go, but as luck would have it, they were out of the ingredients for the two I planned to order that day (the steak sandwich and the smoke salmon sandwich). This small little bakery, nestled in Leesburg, offers daily freshly-baked breads (baguette, ciabatta, rustic boule, and batard loaf), pastries (bars, brownies, cookies, croissants, danishes, muffins, scones, sweet buns, tarts, tartelettes, turnovers, twists, and sweet buns), desserts, breakfast & lunch sandwiches, and coffee. I LOVE their Pecan Sticky Bun - this generously-topped pecan bits with the unbelievable ooey-gooey goodness of the glaze underneath, and the best swirling action of the bun was just AMAZING! Not one tad bit of dryness could be found in this bun, which usually happens as you start biting your way inward - each layer was light, flakey, and just so flavorful with the coating - you can tell that these were lovingly made! The Kouign-amann was impressive as well - this was moist, buttery, and had a nice crispy exterior; I found it much tastier than the more famous bakeries we've tried in NY! A Bacon, Egg and Swiss Breakfast Croissant, one of their breakfast sandwiches, was ordered to-go, and it came piping hot; definitely generous with their ingredients, as it seemed as if there were like 6 eggs used - HA! Three visits so far. I have ordered basically the same thing each visit. Croissants (plain and/or chocolate) and their cheese bread. Bread has not disappointed and is great for grilled cheese! Croissants are hit or miss. Each time at least one of my croissants has been less than fresh. Not full-on stale, but definitely not tasting like a bakery croissant. Seems odd, as this place is typically very busy when I visit and I would guess these are made fresh that day. Maybe I will try coming in right when they open to improve my croissant odds. Small venue that is not accessible (or barely accessible) for those using mobility devices. I don't think most wheelchairs could get through the front two doors because of the angle. In addition, so much of their food is positioned on very high display cases that it would be difficult to see properly, if at all, from the level of a wheelchair or scooter. This bakery is pretty good! I like how many options they have available to choose from. Single serving specialty cakes, cookies, Danishes, fresh breads, you name it! We drive from cities away for breakfast, when we have to go into Leesburg - just to stop off here. We just recently, in our last 3ish trips, discovered they have an actual food menu as well. We have tried the Swiss and ham on croissant, white country bread with bacon/egg/cheddar, and a ham/egg/swiss on ciabatta (which came out with cheddar). It's a bit hard to order sandwiches. The first time we ordered it in person, after waiting in line and getting our bakery items. One lady asked us to wait on the side inside, for it to come out. Then after 5 minutes another lady asked us to wait outside for it. We waited probably 20ish minutes outside before one of the staff members, whom had been coming outside to call names, finally asked us what we were waiting on. It had just been sitting inside... The second time we wanted sandwiches, we decided to go online to order them - which is not an option. So we had to call in the order. When we called in, they kept repeating it back to us wrong and finally after a good 5 min convo, it seemed like we were on the same page. When we picked up our sandwiches both of them had at least 1 thing wrong with it. I think a online ordering app would really benefit Dolce & Ciabatta from this kind of experience. Overall though, the sandwiches are good - weather you get what you actually ordered or not. The pastries are delicious - I really enjoy the cheese Danish. My bf is hooked on their oreo cookie. And I like that the cakes rotate in and out so there is always something new to try! If you are in the area and looking for good bread for picnic at the wineries or sweet treats for self indulgence, I would recommended giving them a shot. read more

This used to be my hands down favorite bakery to the point that we would drive about 35 minutes one way to stop and pickup desserts. Unfortunately, the past 3 times I have stopped in, there is barely anything on the shelves. The most recent time I went in, the cookies seemed "old". They were dry and crunchy, which is quite atypical for what we have received so many times before. I hope that they are able to bring it back up to what it was before. read more

Stopped yesterday to pick my wife up a cherry danish. It was perfect. However lately I've stopped in later in the day and it appeared they do not produce the same quality that there used to always be. If they could fix any it's the time it takes to order and receive a latte may times it takes so long I just want to leave and find somewhere else. My husband and I stopped by on a Monday AM on our way car shopping. I ordered a cheese danish and a large cappuccino and he ordered a cinnamon roll. We also got a peanut butter chocolate chip cookie and half baguette to split later. The cappuccino was very well made. Both of our pastries were fresh, flaky, and delicious. I thought the cheese Danish had a little too much of the cheese filling all in one spot and scraped some off. The cookie was disappointing - not enough chocolate chips and a little chewy/dry. The baguette was good and on par with Panera, though nothing special. I'd definitely return again to try additional pastries (chocolate croissants looked really good!) and a loaf of bread. read more
